Do you not see the conflict with this statement?I respect Church teachings but I don’t see a need to follow them to the letter of the law all the time. The spirit of the law is more important too.

No one has said that is the right thing to do. No where does the Church teach that. Remember, like you said, it’s about discretion. We should all remember: “let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” James 1:19. This is where I’m confused…are you actually saying you think the Church teaches this?I haven’t read a post yet which convinces me that telling the “ruthless truth” all the time is a good thing. The right thing in fact.
