All guns. Held by both good and bad guys.
 
You think it’s okay for a teacher to a shoot possibly a student shooter minor. Students could easily get ahold of the teacher’s gun. Who is to say the teacher is not the mass shooter?
 
The good guy shooter could easily miss and shoot other people who aren’t the bad guy. Most people aren’t navy seals. It sounds more chaos to be honest. Two shooters.

You’re absolutely right.

In an old thread we discussed whether Catholics out to “pack heat” to mass.

My view was that if they did, no one would sit in the back toward the center aisle because that’s where all the return fire would fly.

A perp coming in to shoot up a Church would be bad.
10 untrained superhero wanna-bes would be worse.

Fiery Grandma Ethel, with her awful vision and refusal to NOT carry, would kill darn near every one of us! 😅

What democrats? You need to stop drinking the koolaid. Secure boarders are fine. A wall isn’t necessary with the technology today. I am all for secure boarders. I am a Democrat, so are most of my friends. They all feel the same way.
 
Technology is not “secure borders”. Just because you can capture ppl on camera or radar, does not mean you will be fast enough to catch them when they can literally drive over some parts of the border. And I’ve heard MANY Democrats and liberals who hated when Trump sent National Guard troops to man the border. So what is the solution to the flow of criminality(human, drug, and weapons trafficking as well as illegal immigration) coming through our Southern border? Technology alone that sends out ICE after the fact? Or a wall-an actual deterrent.
 
I’d feel safe maybe if a navy seals at Mass had a gun. Has it come to this? Guns to church. Soon priests have guns? While it’s true criminals will always find ways to attain gun. Is it a good idea for a teacher to be able to shoot a student shooter who is a minor? What if people thought someone had a gun but they didn’t?
 
Then they would suffer the repercussions of that as anyone else does-including legal action. And I don’t care what age you are-mentally ill or not-if you mean people harm and start shooting down a hallway of students you should be taken down.

Tell that to our military. They use nothing but technology in many parts of the world to successfully defend borders, all day every day. Not only is it a more effective method than physical barriers, it also reduces the loss of life of the “good” side.
The notion that we need to waste billions of dollars on a physical wall, which still will be worthless without back-up technology and physical manpower (what is to prevent someone from scaling the wall) is uneducated and small-thinking. Your buddy in office wants a wall for the same reason some insecure men want big trucks they have no need for. The American public shouldn’t be paying for that kind of personal insecuirty.

Oh I think we need technology including ground penetrating laser technology, cameras, AND a wall. I am former Army and was deployed to Iraq. We had walls, fences, security checks points, and constant patrols around the base. It takes a lot of troops AND a thus a lot of money to pay for their salaries to effectively patrol our Southern border. Much more cost efficient to build a wall.
 
I believe the wall will be curved so it would be hard to scale unless one knows parkour really well but seriously…even if someone tried to scale the wall, it would take a long time and there would be cameras everywhere on it so they would be efficiently caught.

You’re telling me people wouldn’t be killed during the crossfire. How can you tell who the good guy or bad guy is if they both have guns? Not everyone is a good shooter anyway. The only solution to gun violence and mass shootings is equipping civilians with more guns.
 
I’m not sure why the rich have the right to self defense but us peons don’t.
 
Also if someone if determined to kill then money wouldn’t be an issue either. Credit cards and loans make this possible.

As I’ve said to the point of my jaw falling off - there are no perfect solutions. There is no 100% win here.

So stop asking for one.

In the case of the wealthy Vegas shooter - you have no defense that a deranged wealthy man can’t overcome - particularly in a capitalist, consumerist nation.
If a multi-millionaire decides he wants you dead and it willing to drop some serious cash to get it done - then you’re going to die.

But where a few thousand certainly won’t stop him, it WILL stop oceans of petty thugs who simply do not have the scratch.
 
I believe the bad guys are usually walking down the aisle of a church killing men, women, and children execution style. At least that’s how the San Antonio church shooter did it.

You keep forgetting, in my scenario where I’ve successfully banned most weapons, what black market dealer is going to take your credit card? Seriously?

And in order to obtain a 3k unsecured loan from sharks, the shooter needs to have the ability to obtain that kind of loan.

Either way, we’re talking about razor-thin, margin scenarios, here.

When it gets down to doing stuff like that in order to commit mass-violence, I’ve won!
 
That’s a valid point. Arming more people be with guns doesn’t sound like a good idea either. Is this what this country had came to?
 
In the age of Stormy Daniels, I am glad that I don’t have any children. The thought of explaining Monica Lewinsky was bad enough.

In 5 years, Poly Sci majors will be studying Ms. Daniels.
