Mass shootings are not common enough to have teachers always equipped with guns. Gun violence happens regularly in the inner city. Home invasions, convenient store robberies and domestic violence are more common gun violence.

I hate how people turn gun violence into a mental health issue. Many normal people kill people for money, out of jealousy, gang violence. Most gun violence isn’t mass shootings.

  1. I would encourage you not to use birth control or have anything to do with premarital sexual activity
  2. Hamas and Hezbollah also provide “woman’s services”. Does that excuse their terrorism?

LOL. I am 55 years old. I am good on my family planning needs. But, thanks for the tip.

Women’s Services: Pelvic exams, birth control, breast exams, counseling services, referral services for battered women, pregnancy snd STI testing, and a myriad of other things. Like I said, I never got an abortion at Planned Parenthood and neither did any of my close friends. We didn’t need to, because Planned Parenthood was there to provide us with the services we needed to protect ourselves from getting pregnant when we didn’t have access to the same level of care any place else that was affordable. I realize they provide abortions as well, but please don’t act like all of the other services they offer aren’t legitimate.

And finally, I don’t know why you brought up pre-marital sexual activity. I didn’t say anything about that.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll bet you look 30 in real life. 😀

I mentioned those things because this is a Catholic Forum. I don’t know if you are Catholic or not, but Catholic teaching regards birth control as immoral. There is also a moral principle that the ends do not justify the means.

I am agnostic, so I don’t subscribe to the Church’s teachings on these issues. However, I do try to be respectful when posting here.

The purpose of my original post was to correct whoever the poster was that stated “SD was contibuting $130 K to provide abortions”. It was patently false. From her attorney yesterday, the funds will be donated to Planned Parenthood, and NOT earmarked for abortions, specifically. The narrative that all PP does is provide abortions is not truthful. PP actually provides a lot of moral-neutral health care services for women who would have to go without otherwise.

I am not defending or supporting that they also provide abortions. My post wasn’t for the purpose of debating that issue.

I don’t see gun control as banning guns for everyone. I’m not sure it is about certain people and their right to bear arms.

The idea that a wall won’t work is absurd. Isreal has walls and they work great.

You are always respectful.

Yeah, but there’s clearly a moral problem here.

Sadly, lots and lots of presidents have had women on the side. Can’t think of too many that didn’t have somebody on the side during office (leaving out those who were assassinated very early or who died of other causes early on). The number shrinks more dramatically if you look at their life before becoming president. For all of his faults, I can’t imagine Jimmy Carter having a woman on the side.

Fr. Martin is an extreme liberal, in every way. So, that explains him. He is always talking for Jesus, but he forgets that Jesus actually had some rich friends, as well. The real truth, I think is that Jesus would sit with both Trump and Stormy Daniels and say, “sin no more”.

bill clinton and his rapes? let’s not go there…
Are Catholics not required in charity to put the best interpretation on others’ actions unless other interpretations are proven? And even then are they not required to avoid the sin of detraction, telling truth in order to harm the reputation of another?

In general, yes I agree. However, I am not sure if that applies to some public figures. For example, if it is known that a public figure is a swindler and has been convicted of taking bribes, should not that be something that should be discussed if she is running for an office which requires a certain degree of integrity and honesty?

Stare at a gun; it will not hurt you in any way.

I’m not foolish. A gun is a weapon. It’s not s mental health issue. I don’t think half the criminals who commit crimes are mentally ill. You don’t have to be mentally ill to rob a liquor store or participate in gang violence. I’m not sure why people act like guns are a necessity and aren’t harmful weapons.

I don’t think certain people should possess guns. It’s that simple.

I don’t know why Father Martin would say that one who was unapologetically continuing to use sex to make money would have a place at table with Jesus over Trump…

Yes they provide actual healthcare services but the market share of actual healthcare PP provides is an average of 2 percent-not much. The biggest “service” they provide to the community outside of abortion are IUDs-about 8 percent market share. They provide approximately 330,000 abortion a year or 33 percent market share. The 500 million taxpayers are forced to provide should cover the tiny market share of actual healthcare they provide.
