Read up on Calvary Chapel. Steve Wood and several other Catholic Converts came from there. It’s a great place, on fire for Jesus, but relies on emotionalism and not on reality. They claim to be based on the Bible, but much of what they practice is not Scriptual. Steve Wood is on Catholic Radio with his daughter Stephanie. You can download his broadcasts and listen to him.Turns out, he’s part of some “cult” Christian church.
I think it’s called Cavalry Chapel.
Supposedly, he’s a “pastor” (at least he fetches the leavened bread for their rituals).
Please read your history, and then come back with honest rebuttals based on facts, not on hearsay. We do not recrucify Christ at mass. See the Last Supper verses for how Jesus told us to live out John 6.That’s OK for Catholics. But I don’t believe that at all. It’s a symbol of our dedication to follow Christ. We don’t eat our God! We do that in remembrance. We do not crucify Him every day!![]()
Actually, I did check up on that particular church.Read up on Calvary Chapel. Steve Wood and several other Catholic Converts came from there. So Name will be our next Fred?Actually, I did check up on that particular church.
They are known for their ant-Catholicism and that makes them un-Christian for a person cannot be anti-Christian and be a Christian at the same time.

Nope. There is only one Fred. Name could be Fred’s James or Nathanial. Hopefully Name is Fred’s Saul of Tarsis and will see the light. At least chill on the rhetoric a littleLooks like it.
In fact, he could very well “be” Fred himself!
LOL!
Sigh…I miss them both.Nope. There is only one Fred. Name could be Fred’s James or Nathanial. Hopefully Name is Fred’s Saul of Tarsis and will see the light. At least chill on the rhetoric a little
It’s more pleasant dealing with name than Fred to me.
Name sake the reason that The Eucharist is not open to Non Catholics is that we hold to this is the Body and Blood of Jesus our Lord. If you believe this then you are on your way to being catholic. If you do not believe this then it would be wrong to allow you to partake , as it put you into saying you believe something you don’t. As for those few denominations that do practice a open communion since they do not hold that the bread and wine become the Real presence of the lord then they have no problem with as long as you believe in Christ it ok to commune. It boils down to weather or not It’s the Real presence of the Lord Christ. My pray is that one day the whole body of Christ will be in communion again. Til then those that do not hold to the Faith of Christ Catholic Church can not partake of the EucharistI think communion should be for any true believer. Catholics believe it should be restricted to Catholics. Catholics believe it has something to do with church affiliation. I believe it has to do with acceptance of Jesus Christ the savior to the world and whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but shall have life everlasting. I do not believe in the real presence.

great post. I shudder when I hear about “non-essential” doctrines. What is non-essential and who decides it?hi all this has been a very interesting thread. it has caused me to look at why i did not precieve the catholic church as the true church. that same reson i rejected the church is the very same reason i came to embrace it. it is also the same reason, at the end of the day, why other christains are not in complete union with the church. It is God’s gift of infallibilty to HIS church.most people don’t have a full understanding of this precept. One can-not- reject a single doctrine the church teaches with out first rejecting the precept of infallibilty. my self i do not fully understand nor do i feel any need to understand this precept any more than i do. i ask would anybody accuse Jesus of not being charitble when He said unto Peter"get thee behind me satan" thanks for having me here may peace rule in your house.
They have the Elders the the Scribes and the Pharisees, and Sanhedrin… I’m sure you read the Bible… Even Jesus spoke to the Elders of the Temple…Were the scriptures any good to the Jews? They didn’t have any infallible interpreter.
And how could it be a doctrine if it’s non-essential?great post. I shudder when I hear about “non-essential” doctrines. What is non-essential and who decides it?
Peter and The Church in Revelations 3 which is The Church at Philadelphia. They have the Elders the the Scribes and the Pharisees, and Sanhedrin… I’m sure you read the Bible… Even Jesus spoke to the Elders of the Temple…
In additon, to my comment, the authority of the Pharisees and Temple High Priests were taken away from them by God for this disbelief that Jesus is not the Messiah.
That authority was handed down to the New Covenant established by Jesus Christ. He build his Church upon Simon Peter, and the Apostles. Peter as the holder of the key.

The creation? Do we have to believe it happened in that way. In seven days?First off, the scriptures can use allegory but that wouldn’t be an error.
Depending on what you mean by “the scriptures can have error regarding matters outside of faith and morals.” you may be putting yourself in direct opposition to several popes and the constant teaching of your church.
The bible contains no errors whatsoever. It DOES contain many opportunities to be misinterpreted though! The creation? Do we have to believe it happened in that way. In seven days?
That the earth is flat, and everything revolves around the earth.
Again, the bible is not a scientific journal. It contains scientific errors…
Mankind is millions of years old, yet literalists (mostly Protestants) will say that mankind is only several thousands of years.
And the age of the prophets? Do you really believe these people lived several hundreds of years?
Let’s not be naive.
Naivete of what the Magisterium teaches, and how that veritably DEMANDS that the bible be seen as containing “errors”, is what we are trying to remedy in these forums (fori?).peace
You do realize you put yourself in direct opposition of several popes and the consistent treaching of your church don’t you? Fortunately, your church has never taught that the scriptures contain errors. The creation? Do we have to believe it happened in that way. In seven days?
