I want what I have: Catholic, intelligent, good with kids, good in a crisis, holds me when I cry, treats me as an equal yet still as a lady, a man of dignity, a man of character…It doesn’t hurt that he is good looking, but it wasn’t part of the citeria.

:yup: sounds good to me too!

I’m interested in the 9 (so far) guys who voted “She’s got to be a faithful Catholic. I don’t care if she’s a plain, chubby wallflower.” 😃

I feel the same way about the guys. I’m not too interested in the “physical chemistry” thing, at least, not upon just meeting. That “chemistry” or “spark” can come once you get to know a person better. Anyone who thinks that has to be present right from the start is expecting “love at first sight”, and love isn’t always that way. Who he is on the inside is more important.

As far as “having it all”, it’s true that nobody is perfect, and since I don’t look like a movie star, I wouldn’t necessarily expect men who look like movie stars to be interested in me. 🙂

Well, I would have put that, but I do have it all, so I had to select the last one. It was only right.

That’s OK; you’re not available, anyway. 😃

I picked “I want it all”. A good-looking faithful Catholic. Of course, my idea of “good-looking” is probably vastly different than other ladies, I think Bill Gates is cute 🤓 But being a faithful Catholic is waaay more important. And as somebody else mentioned, when someone has a great personality, that itself is pretty darn sexy.

You have to be at least attracted to the person, both their appearance and personality. For me a man could be society’s version of a perfect 10, and if they don’t have a personality, integrity and loyalty to go along with it, I would be completely turned off. My husband has it all, great personality, integrity, loyalty. He is my best friend. After being with him for fifteen years, I enjoy the way he looks, but value his inner beauty, love and faith in God above all.

If I were looking for a husband I would be looking for a man I was attracted to, with a personality to match, with the same goals as I, totally devoted to me and The man better be able to make me laugh and enjoy life with me!!! I fear it would be a difficult search, Thank God I got the gumball I wanted on the first try!

LOL, I always joke with my husband that Jeff Corwin is going to be my second husband. (Animal PLanet Jeff Corwin experience, not to be mistaken with Steve Irwin the Crock hunter… eww…) A bit of goofiness never hurts, as long as it is done with confidence. I don’t think I could EVER have dated a man who was less intelligent than me. (But I also can’t stand “know it alls” ) The man must have a passion for life and want to share it with me.

we all love nerds in our own ways! 🤓 but bill gates…mmm…yuck!

As a teenage Catholic single girl, I’m mainly looking for a guy who is yes, Catholic, kind, compassionate, and family oriented, with at least a slight sense of humor.

However, given that I have yet to even meet such a person remotely close to my own age, I might just have to date the thirty-year-old businessmen who ask me out all the time at Starbucks- provided they fulfill the above critieria. 😉

Really? hmm… interesting. (why did I say this). Boy do I feel sheepish saying this I’m 27 and I’m still very shy around women in general. I find it difficult to talk to them.

Not that this has anything to do with the question being asked here, but what exactly do you mean by Frozen North?

You know I believe God gives you what you need in marriage, not what you desire. What I would want in a husband(if I were single) would be a man who is laid back, good sense of humor, likes to have fun, and most of all is a practicing Catholic.
I adore my husband, but he is not any of these things. He is 100% Czech. These are people who are driven by work and rest. Nothing much in between. He has trouble being spontaneous and doing fun things. That being said, I believe it is these qualities in him,( that are so opposite from me), that makes our marriage work.We balance each other. He keeps me grounded and I occasionally will drag him out to play. He is fiercely loyal and protective of our family and has very strong work ethics. One of the pyhsical qualities I love about him are his strong hands with calluses. He is a simple meat and potatoes, hard working guy. While I might imagine the ‘ideal’ mate being someone I can have long relaxing, engaging conversations with, the fact is I need someone who is basic, strong working, and quiet.
The only aspect of my husband that I really wish I could change is for him to become a practicing Catholic. I am praying for that, so I know God is taking care of that.

A great face, a hot body, an incredible mind, and not necessarily marriage… same as always…

Peace.

OK, I’ll admit it. I’m the first vote on this one.

I’d have to become a widower to ever have the need to look for a mate, but if I were, there would be one automatic DQ for me. Non-Catholic females need not apply. A divorced Catholic female could be considered, but not likely.

That means only single/widowed Catholic females get a chance to marry this rich, hunky Catholic flyboy. That’s gonna severly limit my field, so I just throw out what is to me, the least important…‘model’ looks.

Most of the guys I hang with don’t know how to pick ‘em, or what they’re missin’. There’s nothing ‘hotter’ than a Catholic girl, all of 'em. They ARE the best.

And BTW, CarolAnn? If I were single, I’d be all over you! I’ll bet you’re a babe! And you know you’re way around an airplane, too.http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon12.gif
