If you were Pope

Are you are attempting to suggest the CCC contains “ambiguous statements” then you are in error.
To deny that Vatican II isn’t ambigious in certain areas can be equated to blindness. There are apologists out there left and right who do there best to read the documents of Vatican II in the light of Tradition, and what they have to do at times can be described as some form of aerobics. Since the CCC and Compendium quote VII about 80% of the time, I once again rest my case.
you’ll probably never make it through the CCC even once.
Actually I have, but thanks for presuming.
The Pope does not “agree” that the Baltimore and the Roman Catechism “are by far the best Catechisms out there.”
I said nothing about him and the Baltimore, that was just my opinion. But in terms of the Roman Catechism, he did say it was the most important Catechism.

If i was the pope i would restore the papal tiara for solemn and special occasion.

…mandate that all must receive the sacred body and blood of christ on the toung while kneeling on altar rail
…Altar must be made of marble or …not wood…unless marble or other better material was not available…then wood may be used temporarily untill marble becomes available
…ordinary of the mass in latin
…restore that catholics must not eat meat on all fridays
…restore eucharistic fast to 3 hours unless illness of course
…jubile year in honor of saint joseph:p just because lol
…would try to reconcile with eastern/orthodox catholic church
…create “liturgical spies” who are priest sent around the world to sort of spy on the masses and report any abuse 😛
…umm…idk what else this job is harder than i thought

In other words, “Backwards, march!”

But no matter how “conservative” the reversions and restorations would be, they wouldn’t be enough for some people.
Wait a minute. Aren’t you Orthodox? Seems like you would support a similar approach? I was always under the impression that the Orthodox are generally opposed to modernisms.

If I was pope, I would reduce the communion fast from 1 hour to 5 minutes, so that we can have a snack during the collection.

(just kidding 😃 )

**Actually, the tiara was never a piece of liturgical vesture and was not worn in sacred ceremonies themselves. It was a bit of SECULAR insignia.

The only time a pope wore it liturgically, to my knowledge, was when John XXIII celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, when he wore it as the equivalent of a Byzantine mitre. (There’s also the possibility that one could not be found for him.)**

I would try to make the Church more welcoming toward socially castigated people. I’d emphasize Catholic social activism to help imperiled people and to help rescue the environment. I’d lead the Church more in the direction of helping to liberate those who suffer from their suffering. :knight1:

I would take a world tour of all the Catholic chathedrals in the world!!! 😃

  1. Recognize Anglican Apostolic Succession and Holy Orders as valid
  2. Visit Canterbury and receive Communion from +Cantuar (if I have recognized their Holy Orders as valid, there is nothing wrong with this now)
  3. Promote Anglican-Roman Catholic unity and declare the Anglican Use liturgy as a fully valid Rite and allow Anglicans to join the Roman Catholic Church, yet maintain their own doctrine (i.e. Anglican Catechism and XXXIX Articles of Religion)
  4. If I have to live in Rome, I’ll start attending St. Paul’s Within the Walls (stpaulsrome.it/)
  5. Provide support to Anglicans that are trying to fight against the theological liberalism (i.e. allow Anglican parishes that lose their building because they refuse to bow to the demands of certain liberal theologians and leaders in the Episcopal Church to use Roman Catholic buildings)
And finally…
  1. Hide from the Traditionalist Catholics who would be coming after me at this point
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

BTW- my Papal name would be: Anglicus. Also, I’d be the first Pope who is a Sacramentally Confirmed Anglican. 👍

“Therefore, the true opinion is the fifth, according to which the Pope who is manifestly a heretic ceases by himself to be Pope and head, in the same way as he ceases to be a Christian and a member of the body of the Church”
-St. Robert Bellarmine
