I think the title of this discussion is WRONG. it mus be, IGLESIA NI CRISTO members helped them… haha right. woaah. there is so many myths, accusations, opinions and other destructive comments about the INC. Why? because the INC are INCREASING of numbers because god helping us. and how about the catholics? we all know that they are decreasing in number, why? it is because their members had been joining another religions that they discover the wrongness of the doctrines in their church^_^
I’m just wondering, why can’t INC attract intellectuals, non-Filipinos who are not married to Filipinos? And why most of their converts are most likely poorly catechized?

Well, I just haven’t heard of any worldwide known INC physicists, social, behavioral, and anthropological scientists philosophers, computer scientists, psychologists, evolutionary biologists, biologists and so on.

Hello Guys I am new here, i’m proud to say I am a Roman catholic 👍

anyway guys i hope catholic member here can make video in youtube example " ROMAN CATHOLIC and INC debate" coz i’ve saw a lot of videod in youtube by INC accusing RCC as a pagan because we where worshiping status…

for the most part its useless to debate with the INC leaders as their minds are closed to their belief. they’ve already been brainwashed.

if anyone asks you why Catholics pray to statues, ask them this, do they have a picture of their boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, parents, siblings, kids, family, friends at home and in their wallets? why do they put pictures all around? some even kiss the picture of their spouse/lover. does that mean they are insane for kissing a piece of paper filled with chemicals?

statues remind us of who we are praying to. we don’t pray to the statue. the same way when you kiss a picture of your spouse, you are not really kissing a piece of paper. its your symbolism of kissing your spouse who physically is not there with you. we use statues because there was no cameras and photopaper during the Roman Empire, statues was prevalent then with the Roman gods and when Catholism became mainstream, those statues were replaced with Christian figures such as the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the early saints

because INC is just in only 95th year in the pihilippines and i think 40th year in the west, so, in that 40 years, can INC attracts millions and millions in just so short time.

Let’s help those people who belong to Iglesia ni Cristo that they might realise what their Church really thaught.

Send this to their e mail.

Let’s not criticise them but rather help them to come back to the TRUE Church of Christ, the Church who existed since the first century, THE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH.
Be careful now, promoting the Catholic Faith and standing up for it’s truths will be deemed uncharitable by some members and you’ll be reported and then you’ll be band. Whatever you do, don’t promote Catholic Truths and Dogma, it will offend the Non-Catholics, it will be deemed uncharitbale and contempt for others religions. So stop what you are doing, God forbid you convert someone!

Then again, I don’t care who believes in what, let it be.

It’s because Iglesia ni Cristo is JUST 95 years old, founded in 1914, members mostly are indigenous Filipino of origin, converts were mostly poorly catechized Catholics. In just a century, they have not more than 4 million members or less who knows.

No one knows exactly their official teachings but it is believed that this cult was founded by a Filipino man named Felix Manalo who after having some schism within his founded church decided to elevate himself to “angel” state thus proclaiming himself as the last messenger.

Felix wasnt’ the original.
It was Islam’s prophet Muhammad who first did that
Second was Joseph Smith
Then Felix Manalo

So how may last prophets and sages, and angels shall we believe?

Iglesia ni Cristo is just a cult, so let’s help them come to their right senses.

if you are from the Phils then you very well know that that is not what most Catholics think,
Well there is the popular definition and the theological definition. The INC is too large and organized to meet the popular or general definition of “cult”. Filipinos are generally tolerant of deviants around them be they flamboyant gays or members of minority faiths. Even Muslims even though the AFP is in almost constant confllict with them.

Theologically speaking the majority Church teaches that the INC is a cult. How accepting of “official” Church doctrine the average Filipino member is a matter of debate.

nor are there any affulent people in the INC

usually poor to middle class Filipinos

Well catechized or poorly catechized?

Those majority poorly catechized Filipinos don’t even know why they’re Catholics, expectedly they neither differentiate what’s a cult from what’s not.

But categorically and theologically, INC has all the qualities of a CULT!

yes, i agree
by the actions of the INC they are definitely a cult. but of course cults are known to be small in size. INC has managed to grow as large or even larger than most Protestant churches in the Philippines.

Its larger then ALL other Protestant churches in the Philippines. With the distinctive white buildings and fences they stand out even more then the Born again communities Storefronts, rented halls and home churches. So they are seen as a true church and not a start up.The only general, non theologic definition of cult that still applies are the locked doors, forced tithing and the next grandson taking over as Executive Minister.

Someone not named Manalo taking over will go a long way to cut further the number of people who use the popular and not theologic definition of cult. In this I agree with the INC member It may be Catholic teaching that the INC is a cult but Filipinos by and large do not fear them or treat them like people do what in the general usage “cults” are. For example American cults like the Manson clan. The Branch Davidians at Waco. The “kool aid” drinkers The bunch who killed themselves with the new Nikes on their feet as they waited for the Rapture/mothership, I forgot which it was.

but INC also believes in the Rapture that their temples will literally be lifted up to heaven, hence the aerodynamic design

them being a cult is not from the Catholic church as far as i know. i have never heard any priest, bishop or even teachers in Catholic schools mention them from being a cult. its by my own knowledge of how they control their members is how i personally consider them a cult.

i still think that some (maybe one) Protestant churches may be bigger than INC. not just because they have bigger temples means there’s more of them out there. they surely have the money to make those temples. i can only imagine how much the current president paid off their leader to get their votes in the 2004 elections. this was after Erano Manalo refused to meet with Pres. Arroyo, then eventually changed his mind and ended up asking the INC to vote for her. and of course the forced tithing on all its members, which mostly is composed of poor Filipinos. INC uses the visibility and size of their temples to awe the common Filipino into joining them. and most simple Filipinos will be at awe at the grandeur of their buildings

You know how some here like to talk about the 30, 000 denominations. Because of that no single protestant denomination is bigger then the INC. All the liturgical mainline Protestants as a group may be larger but the Anglicans by themselves, the next largest after INC, comes to about 2% of the population compared to 2.3% of Filipinos being INC.

but INC itself doesn’t disclose how many members they have. part of it is so they can use it as leverage during elections so that politicians will suck up to them thinking they will get many votes

They’re not more than the hair of my head yet lol but bloc voting is surely very attractive to power greedy politicians.

of course, thats how they get their influence. which is scary because even such a small group has such a tight grip on people running the country
