…well not from another Hispanic Country or Asian…but European and I am caucasian…
**So how about it BLYSS…are my kids welcome to hold their US Citizenship??? **
Ituyu;1824877:
No…I feel if you are not an American by birth or naturalization your children should hold the nationality of your birth and yes, that even means if you are a “green card” holder. It also doesn’t matter if you are from Mexico or Sweden or anywhere elseOh my poor kids…born here in the USA to American father(s) and yet since I am a “green card” holder (meaning here LEGALLY) they should not hold US citizenship?
Guess it is a good thing that they also hold Passports from my Country of Birth and when they turn 18 they can decide which they want to claim for their citizenship:thumbsup:
Oh let me add…I am not from Mexico either,so does this make a difference for my kiddies Blyss??
:heart:Blyss
WOW! What a BIGOTED and UNEDUCATED commentNo…I feel if you are not an American by birth or naturalization your children should hold the nationality of your birth and yes, that even means if you are a “green card” holder. It also doesn’t matter if you are from Mexico or Sweden or anywhere else
:heart:Blyss
you also contradicted yourself here…No…I feel if you are not an American by birth or naturalization :heart:Blyss
I disagree…uninsured children are uninsured because lack of resources*…their families’ resources*. Of course we have the best health care in the world…if one can afford it or afford the insurance and many cannot do either. While health care for everyone…legal and illegal might be “feasible” to you, in reality it is not. There are many hospitals along the border who are closing because of uncompensated care for illegals. So…until such time as every American man, woman and child have access to health care…then it should not be provided to those who are here illegally.Children in America are not uninsured because of a lack of resources. This country is more than wealthy enough to provide medical care for every single person, legal and illegal, sitting inside of its borders at this moment. It is most certainly feasible
I didn’t contradict myself at all. Children who are born of a mother who is not here legally or is not an American by birth or naturalization should not be thought of as American citizens.you also contradicted yourself here…
My kids by there BIRTH (born on American soil) are Americans…if you like it or not
Also I hope that you dont hold that view with yourown family …as somewhere down the family tree somone came here to the US that was not born here …hence they where an IMMIGRANT![]()
ooooooh…now you are starting to throw insults.WOW! What a BIGOTED and UNEDUCATED comment![]()
Why should they hold my nationality? Not their fathers who are american citizens? Does it matter that i have lived here legally since I came here…which is over 30 years?
I am not understanding the WHY of your thought process on this one…sorry!

see…well not from another Hispanic Country or Asian…but European and I am caucasian…

Well, they will hold their citizenship…although if you are not an American, I would feel they shouldn’t…and I don’t care where you are from.
:heart:Blyss
Thank God our goverment does not think the same way you do!I didn’t contradict myself at all. Children who are born of a mother who is not here legally or is not an American by birth or naturalization should not be thought of as American citizens.
Good God…become a US citizen…whyooooooh…now you are starting to throw insults.I don’t believe I have done that. No, I feel they should hold the nationality of their mother. Don’t like my thoughts…tough! If you have lived here LEGALLY for 30 years why haven’t you become naturalized then? I would have no problem with your children being Americans if their mother was a naturalized citizen…I think I stated that. 30 years and not a citizen…I guess I don’t understand your thought process on that…sorry.
:heart:Blyss
No, the government does not hold my viewpoint and that is too bad. It should. The government cow tows down too much to the foreigners in our country…much to the detrement of the citizens.Thank God our goverment does not think the same way you do!
And yet I still have not heard the WHY for your reasoning on this…so WHY???

:heart:Blyss
YUP:thumbsup:…and it kills you dont it
that they can & do have citizenship …
**Good God…become a US citizen…why???
And yes I have lived here legally since the day I stepped foot in this Country…![]()
what a concept…some of us are Legal from day one
Just as I dont understand your thought process on your train of thought…
They are born here…hence they are citizens. My reasoning for children holding the nationality of their mothers is** because by giving birth to a child in this country gives one certain rights and perks that I feel one should not have unless they are a citizen**.
:heart:Blyss
BlyssfulDreamer;1825921:
No…actually you are wrong. I don’t let things get to me that I cannot do anything about. How do you explain to your American children that their mother doesn’t want to become a citizen of the country they are lucky enough to be citizens of?YUP:thumbsup:…and it kills you dont it
that they can & do have citizenship …
:heart:Blyss
Suuuure…They are born here…hence they are citizens.
How do you suggest Citizenship should be determined?
Also as a side not…even though I married an American and my kids by birth are Americans I do not hold any extra rights being their Mom…you do know that right!!!
My first allegiance is to GOD, and then my FAMILY and then my Country**Good God…become a US citizen…why???? **ya gotta be kidding me. Is the US good enough for you to live here and have children…but not good enough to be a citizen of? Then maybe going back to where you came from might be the thing to do…because it is obvious you don’t like it here enough to become a citizen. You ma;am…are why i have a problem with many who come to this country. If you have lived here 30 years…where is your first allegiance?
:heart:Blyss
Karin;1825934:
I dont explain anything…what is there to explain? Do you think we sit around and kibitz about our Citizenship status? No…actually you are wrong. I don’t let things get to me that I cannot do anything about. How do you explain to your American children that their mother doesn’t want to become a citizen of the country they are lucky enough to be citizens of?
:heart:Blyss
My kids all hold dual citizenship…they enjoy certain perks…like not being harrassed over seas becuase they do not travel on their American Passports
so Blyss just what extra perks do I get?? Oh wait it must be that check I send the IRS each April 15th…Suuuure…
:heart:Blyssthat is a really awesome perk

Wrong. The govenment should reflect the will of the majority. Being still mostly a Christian nation, I do not think you will ever see a majority hold to such an uncharitable point of view,No, the government does not hold my viewpoint and that is too bad. It should.
