If I am unhappy about anything at all, it is that after more than 400 years that Protestants anre clinging to the false teachings of the Reformation.

I think you do not understand what a papal bull is.

😃 😃 😃 You are welcome, it was nothing!!! I thought it was beautiful and I thought you’d appreciate it, all things considered.
I’ve posted it in the Traditional Catholic Folder as well. I was thinking of sharing elsewhere on the forum. It’s no problem. I’m glad you enjoy it!

**This is like waiting for the rapture to occur!😃

I wonder if only 44,000 JW will be left after we depart:confused: Can’t wait for the new body this one is old.

JOKE TIME:**

Shrek, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were all having lunch together.

Shrek said, ‘I have always thought that I’m the strongest man in the world, but how can I be sure?’

Angelina Jolie agreed. ‘I’m told I’m the most gorgeous of them all, but sometimes I wonder.’

Brad Pitt said, ‘I’m pretty sure I’m the sexiest man alive but I’ve never had it confirmed.’

They all decided that the best way to find out if their beliefs were true was to ask the famed talking ‘mirror, mirror on the wall’ to confirm for them whether Shrek was the strongest, Angelina Jolie was the most gorgeous and Brad Pitt was the sexiest. They agreed to meet again the next day for lunch to discuss their findings.

The next day Shrek walked up with a smile. ‘Well, it’s true. The mirror told me that I am the strongest man in the world.’

Brad Pitt perked up and said: ‘And I know for sure that
I’m the sexiest man of all’

Angelina Jolie perked up and said" I’m the most gorgeous of them all"

But Brad Pitt lifted his sad face and said: " Who the heck is ROB GENTNER?"

I am so glad that I had a chance to read the posts on this topic and also get some questions answered.

Hi Hays,:tiphat:

We will be around I will Look for you!:jrbirdman: **

I believe that if the topic stays current, there should be no reason to close it down.
Now if there had been no activity or people were just “throwing mud”,then I can see closing it.
I never even had any idea that Catholics felt the way they do about protestants, till I visited this and other such treads.

**We are like parents with children running around loose and unchurched or following one of those strange religions. We care for and want to help everyone reach heaven! :whackadoo: **
I understand you more. And I have grown to love the Catholic faith.
**I, for Us thank you for that remark!:clapping: **S
adly,I am still not able to convert to Catholicism, but it’s not too late till they seal the casket.

**You don’t have to be catholic to receive the graces of the CC. Just obey the rules of the CC as best you can and you should be fine.🤷 Only God knows for sure. But a lot of us are depending on His unlimited Mercy! :gopray2:

God Bless.:highprayer:

Not according to pope Pope Boniface VIII. Here is his part of his bull from 1302:
"Unam Sanctum
(On Papal Primacy)

Papal Bull of His Holiness Pope Boniface VIII, promulgated November 18, 1302

Urged by faith, we are obliged to believe and to maintain that the Church is one, holy, catholic, and also apostolic. We believe in her firmly and we confess with simplicity that outside of her there is neither salvation nor the remission of sins, as the Spouse in the Canticles [Sgs 6:8] proclaims: ‘One is my dove, my perfect one. She is the only one, the chosen of her who bore her,’ and she represents one sole mystical body whose Head is Christ and the head of Christ is God [1 Cor 11:3]. In her then is one Lord, one faith, one baptism [Eph 4:5]. There had been at the time of the deluge only one ark of Noah, prefiguring the one Church, which ark, having been finished to a single cubit, had only one pilot and guide, i.e., Noah, and we read that, outside of this ark, all that subsisted on the earth was destroyed. "

Here is the last sentence of this bull that also is clear:
“Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.”

Protestants are not in subjection to the pope and are thereby condemned.

🤷
This is off topic open another thread if you REALLY want an answer.
You raised a question about the Hail Mary in which you tried unsuccessfully to show that it was worship. Instead it was shown to you that it was not so you try to change it to praying to the dead. Jesus said that God was the God of the living not the dead. I will follow Jesus.

We keep circling…

You worship Mary and the saints!

Do not!

Do too, look at this song/poem! That’s worship!

Actually, no it’s not worship. Worship is for God alone.

Well, then you must think Mary is divine, because you worship her!

Do not!

Do too!

Do not!

…ad nauseum…
Hahahahahahahaha…thanks Pixie for the update!!! 🙂

Fortunately or unfornuately depending if you are Protestant or Catholic. I would think catholics are happy this thread is almost done. I suspect it had not been to pleasant for them… :whackadoo:

JA4T1T,👋

Are you kidding? We love it!!!. At the Secret Catholic Meeting last night we voted and had the Thread left open to 2,000 postings!😃
You with 5,674 personal postings have asked only 25 different questions! You are our hero! 👍

We only had to use the first two pages of the printout “Stupid Questions That Protestants Normally Ask”,
Of course, those two pages are worn out! I think yours must be also. So we look forward to your future postings.:coffeeread: They are always so interesting!

We should discuss the rapture I think it is on page 4? Did you read up on that yet? Let us know when you are ready. :extrahappy:

I’m getting tired of hearing from Protestants that we worship Mary and the saints!

I’m beginning to think you think they exist either otherwise i would have had list of a couple of pages long that would have shown what they are and how they started. 🤷
Yes, you keep saying this. However, your Bible is hundreds of pages long, and yet there is no list inany of those pages of what constitutes the proper contents of that book. It was written, compiled, canonized, preserved and promulgated all by Sacred Tradition.

How do you think it “got started”?

Hahahahahahahaha…thanks Pixie for the update!!! 🙂

SEE WHAT YOU GUYS DID? PIXIE IS TALKING TO HERSELF!😃
We all feel like that! God Bless, tick, tick, tick, tick tick, the thread continues! 🙂

God Bless**

Even if there is some kind of “Sacred Tradition” that wrote, compiled, canonized, preserved and promulgated the Scriptures that still would not change the fact that the Scriptures are God’s Word to the church and carry the ultimate authority.

Don’t worry. I talked to the mods and they said they’ll leave the thread open until we convince every last non-catholic that we don’t worship Mary and the Saints! 😃

Except the Scriptures, God’s Word, the Good Book, the Bible, even Jesus Himself tells us the Church is the ultimate authority. 👍

As a Catholic there is no choice. None. except if you can’t vote for ******* vote for no one! That is another thread all together
No, Rob, it does not belong here at all. Please review the forum rules. We are not allowed to mention the names of specific candidates. CAF is a non-profit and cannot make, or even appear to make, political endorsements.

What catholicism teaches and what Christ taught are in many many cases 2 different things. There is not one word from the lips of the Lord Jesus that His followers were ever to pray to Mary. Not one.
You did not answer the other question:

Where in Scripture does it say that I can’t say things about Mary?

Also, where in Scripture does it say I am not allowed to ask Mary for anything?

Do you think Jesus never asked her for anything? Think she never cooked for HIm, or washed His clothes? Think she never mended rips in his tunic?
Your church essentially does call Prostentants heretics. Just look at some of the ANATHEMAS at the end of some of the canons of Trent. Also your pope does not even recognize Protestant churches as churches.
No, this is wrong. A person cannot qualify as a heretic who has never known and embraced the truth. Most protestants can’t qualify.

Anathemas, just as those contained in scripture, are written by, for and about the faithful. They are to prevent people from becoming heretics. They can’t be applied to those who have never embraced the truth. Anathema is for one who willfully departs from the truth.

The definitions of Church can be found in the Scripture. Protestant communities do not meet the criteria for “church”. It is not about the “pope”, it is about Christ. He only founded One Church. He did not build “churches”.
Is it not true that a catholic who prays the hail Mary is imploring her help (not the Lord Jesus) at the hour of death?
No. Catholics understand that Mary is the handmaid of the Lord. Her entire being has been given over to Him in perfect worship. Her attitude of “let it be done to me according to Thy will” is the perfect attitude for a person facing death. We should also face our lives with this attitude, found on the lips of the Blessed Mother. 👍
Not according to pope Pope Boniface VIII. Here is his part of his bull from 1302:

How do you see any of this as contradictory?
Urged by faith, we are obliged to believe and to maintain that the Church is one, holy, catholic, and also apostolic. ****

This explains why Protestant communities are not considered Church in the biblical sense of the word. They do not meet the four criteria for being Church. 🤷

Nothing has changed since the first century.

Do you not find this scriptural? Do you not recognize these passages?

There is nothing in there about condemnation. You are adding to the text. You are a subject of the Roman Pontiff, even though you are a disobedient and rebellious one. 😃
Has this papal bull ever been renounced by the Catholic church?
Why on earth would anyone want to renounce the truth? Honestly, ja4, sometimes I wonder if you even have common sense! Then I realize, common sense is not that common.

It never teaches, exhorts or comands such a thing. Just because something is not mentioned does not mean its persmissible. It cannot be denied that the things written and said about Mary go far beyond what the Scriptures say of her. The Catholic church has allowed her to be turned into some kind of goddess with the titles we have seen on this and other threads. All things said about her would be just as approopiate to say about the Lord Jesus. These titles also put her on the same level as Him Who is God. Such things should never be said of a fallen creature no matter what part they may have played in bringing the Light of World in the world. Just as Paul rebuke those in Acts who wanted to make him a god he rebuked them for it. If Mary were alive today she would do the same.
Do you think Jesus never asked her for anything? Think she never cooked for HIm, or washed His clothes? Think she never mended rips in his tunic?
On the earthly level yes but never on the spiritual level.

Before this closes I want to make sure that the quote feature is wacky :whacky: showing this quote attributed to me.
