I'm getting tired of hearing from Protestants that we worship Mary and the saints!

JustAsking:

Have you ever been to a catholic mass?

Hi Happily! :tiphat:

If you could see him you might know. He would have burn marks on his forehead from the Holy Water! ::eek: I just wanted to remind you not to be like those Heretics.:tsktsk: ~ Asking a question, not making any statement of faith! Come on. We discussed all this at the Secret Catholic Meeting last night. Remember? You:

Ask a question!
Make a statement of Faith!
Tell them we are praying for their lost souls!
Tell them we love them!
and Finally remind them Jesus’s Mother and all the saints are also praying for them to the lord Our God.

Now is that so hard to remember?

Get it right I don’t want to send Guan to correct you.:slapfight: He can be mean! :crutches:

God Bless, Keep up the good fight.👍 Don’t be suprised when The100thTime ignores your question. That is why we made all the other rules.

You asked me. This theory is the foundation of all your beliefs. How’s it off topic?

Good dodge.
It is about how Protestants say we worship Mary and the Saints not about solo scripture. There are threads on solo scripture if you want to discuss it.

JustAsking does this for the same reason hungry people keep going to the frig when they don’t like what’s there.

JA wants to be convinced (fed) as her hunger for the Truth stills aches in her. She, like many others are not willing to take the bitter with the sweet and join us.

Catholicism is very hard at times. But what non catholics miss because they refuse to let the fullness of the Holy Spirit into their hearts is the Grace of sacrements and the Purity of the Eucharist and the sweet release of reconciliation.

Our faith is a reflection of Christ’s life on earth. It is a sacrifice at all times and it is a Divine Blessing at all times.

God made life hard but gave us ways to feel close to Him and to actively practice our faith in Him just like He did Jesus. Hence catholicism.

Peace brothers and sisters. You’ll find it in any catholic church. Walk in and make yourself at home. The frig is full! 😃
What catholicism teaches and what Christ taught are in many many cases 2 different things. There is not one word from the lips of the Lord Jesus that His followers were ever to pray to Mary. Not one.

Rob:

You scare me.

The first thing I learned in my RCIA class was to not try to convert anyone who believes in the Trinity. I learned that lesson because like you, I mistrusted other faiths and I was quickly corrected by a Deacon whose mother and father were protestant. Heck I waited to be Baptized catholic at 39 just because there were things I don’t agree with and naively believed that you had to be born catholic. (What a conversion story that is!)

You don’t hear Papa Benedict pulling others away from their faith. Just pray Rob and stop the name-calling and vicious comments. Actually I like your debate, but the rest is very unattractive and more than a little offensive to our faith.

Please don’t misunderstand, I like you but my fear is that you are pushing away any potential catholics that may come along by calling them heretics. I know I wouldn’t want to be a part of a Church that calls people heretics.

God Bless and for goodness sake man, Peace Be With you.

**JA4T1T is a woman? And you have the nerve to use a refrigerator full of food as an analogy?:bigyikes: How cruel can you be? I always talk about the “mean” Catholics here. And you are a real example what what I meant! :extrahappy: Now go say a Hail Mary for JA4 and don’t do it again! :tsktsk:

JA4 For you my dear :flowers:

JustAsking4The100thTime, Dear, remember that Jesus had a woman that he loved and respected. We as his followers, should respect and love His mother also… So out of our respect for His Mother lets pray together:

Hail; Mary full of Grace,
the lord is with thee, Blessed are thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus!
Holy Mary mother of God,
pray for us now,
and at the hour of our death amen

Say that 10 times, and you will be well on the way towards true happiness and completeness as a Christian!

Your church essentially does call Prostentants heretics. Just look at some of the ANATHEMAS at the end of some of the canons of Trent. Also your pope does not even recognize Protestant churches as churches.
God Bless and for goodness sake man, Peace Be With you.

The one in whom you pray to at the hour of your death is your god.

who doesn’t the church call a heretic? 😃 😃

it’s OK though – we turn it right back around.

I am joking. Serious but making sure that our faith is explained. Actually many of the Protestants understand that there is absolutely nothing wrong with their being called Heretics. It is the truth and they are proud of it or should be!

They tell me that my joking with them helps made them feel better. Many cathollics and protestants don’t try to enjoy being with each other.

“Humor is in fact an essential element in the mirth of creation. We can see how, in many matters in our lives, God wants to prod us into taking things a bit more lightly.” Pope Benedict XVI

I love all the protestants. I really do. I attempt in a light and loving way to correct their errors in thoughts and actions. Just like you are trying to correwct me. I thank you for that your opinion matter to me!

When they are serious I am serious, when they ask the same questions over and over again. I know they are joking and respond in kind. We are all different Lucky for us catholics we have our faith to keep us united.

Don’r be sacred~ I only bite on sundays! And then mostly Protestants.**

This is off topic. I have been hammered so many times for going off topic and accused of derailing topics from my “friends” here at CAF that i don’t want them to have more fuel for the fire…:crutches:

The original Protesters, yes. We don’t call protestants heretics, we call them separated brethren. They may believe some heresies through no fault of their own, but so long as they have been baptized using the Trinitarian formula that Jesus gave us, they are our brothers and sisters in Christ and imperfectly joined to the Catholic Church.
Just look at some of the ANATHEMAS at the end of some of the canons of Trent.
What do you think anathema means? To whom was the Council of Trent addressed?
Also your pope does not even recognize Protestant churches as churches.
Why should he? Jesus only founded One Church. You don’t recognize the Catholic Church as the Church founded by Jesus Christ and His Apostles…🤷

We’re talking 1848 right? Anathemas are a very harsh way of getting a point across. Such as damned be your soul if you don’t agree with us. Again, we’re talking 1848. But hey it’s there, I know. It’s not like catholics are shouting it from rooftops though. Well save one. :o

Where does the Church call anyone a heretic? I know in the Catechism it explains what a heretic is and that is a person who believes in something other than what the Church teaches. However, I’ve never heard any catholic save one, call anyone a heretic.
