Did you ever, on the coldest winter morning, look out the window and see a cardinal complaining? No? I didn’t think so. Be like that cardinal. Embrace the hardship. Cease to complain, and prepare to live!

What do you suggest it should now be … … … it’s only fair to allow you the option of also “changing” the thread title of the thread you yourself opened 🙂

Out , da__ed title ! Out, I say!

How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is
To have an unnamed thread!

[ok, it’s odd to have to work around the auto-censor to misquote some of the Bard’s most famous lines]

Out, damn title!

How about little riff on Ecclesiastes?

A thread shines high and bright as the Morning Star, only to fade into insignificance. This also is vanity.

You said I could say it again! 😉

Speaking of the Morning Star, this very day, the planet Venus passes between the Earth and the Sun. In so doing, it makes its transition from the evening sky to the morning sky.

Right now, Venus cannot be seen in the glare of the Sun. In a few weeks, it will become visible as the Morning Star close to the horizon just before dawn. Over the summer, it will rise higher and be visible earlier before dawn.

The Morning Star is a beautiful metaphor in the Bible and in Christian tradition. I plan to start a thread on the Morning Star in a few weeks, God willing, when Venus appears preceding the sunrise.

Nice. I’ll have to watch for that.

Reminded me of the “Science made Stupid” article that calmly described a lunar eclipse as happening when the Sun passes between the Earth and the Moon. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, of course.

No, not that Morning Star. I’m pondering the motto on their masthead: “for Peace and Socialism.” Not peace and prosperity, but peace and politics.
