You can only let Rudy shoot you in the foot so many times before something starts bleeding.

November will tell. He won’t lose unless the Democrats come up with someone better. From my standpoint, he’s already prevented any other Republican from getting the nomination. In the absence of the miracle of a pro-life Democrat getting the nomination, I probably won’t be given anyone high in the polls that I can support. Time will tell, though.

I don’t think there will be witnesses, but I could be wrong. I really don’t think the Senate will remove him. I will be astonished if I’m wrong about that.

That is it. Our Constitutional system is fragile. If men get in willing to do what it takes, that’s it.
Washington was originally offered Kingship.
His INTEGRITY gave us this experiment in self government. I already watched Trump try on that Saudi Kings ORB on for size.

As others have pointed out, we’ve had some Presidents who were into really questionable things that could have gotten them impeached or even removed. I think the Senate realizes that it is a mistake to remove an elected official if the people who elected him don’t regret putting him in office.

The people will get the government they ask for, even if we don’t realize what it is we’re doing. We’re not doing better than that.

Donald Trump isn’t going to lose office for this, not by Senate removal when his own party owns the Senate in an election year. He might lose office in November, for failing to keep promises to very vulnerable Republican voters (like the farmers) who believed he would look out for them. If they don’t think he’s done that, he is very vulnerable to losing in November. Of course, lots of Democratic voters don’t get that, so he may get lucky and see them nominate somebody that no farmer could ever vote for. Time will tell.

When the question of removing a President comes up, after all, the question of who the alternative will be is always very important. People don’t just assume that there is no worse place than the frying pan.

There cannot be witnesses. It will devestate the defense. The truly incriminating must be hidden.
I don’t think Rudy shoots him I the foot. Rudy is there to test the waters of Authoritarianism. That’s his job. OTHERWIZE he gets the hook a while ago.
He won’t loose because perhaps there are " anomolies" “curfews” suspensions. It’s going to happen. Watch.

Theoretically if America was to insist on a crook, the nation would fall on its own sin.
Is this a surprise? 50% of the nation went to war to kill their brothers so they could own other human beings like one owns golf clubs, or a tennis ball. ( Less cruel to the ball)

I’m not a lawyer, but I thought they might have mentioned any crimes he’s accused of in the articles of impeachment instead of the intangible articles they went with.

It is lamentable, but I think the least damaging mode of repudiating Donald Trump’s conduct in office is the election in November. The problem, unfortunately, is that we will be denied the opportunity to use the Republican primaries to find a pro-life candidate who is not so ethically challenged. Worse yet, Mr. Trump could be damaging the chances for conservatives to win office for a very long time. When I see how many Republicans have hooked themselves to his wagon, it is very discouraging.

Of course, I think that Donald Trump ever became such a darling of Christian voters in the US beggars belief. Of all the pro-life candidates that we could have backed…we get him? How did that happen? After the whole “Russia if you’re listening” thing, though, nothing about this incident should surprise anybody. Has he ever said there was anything that he wouldn’t do to win? Exactly. Sometimes, he can be believed. What he does over and over, believe that he’ll do it again.

It marks Christians as people who are just the same as anybody else: the ends justify the means. Yes, that is lamentable, to put it mildly.

I think your point is that if he gets the justices right and shows up at the right rallies and says the right things, he has carte blanche to do whatever else he wants.

No one ought to feel entitled to have that.
