It explains nothing. Are you saying my post isnt important all because im younger than you?
That is one of the most ignorant things ive ever heard. First off, in my post i was talking about the fact that being a teenager, I dont see ANY excuse why another fellow teenager of my age has to be immature. I am able to control myself and i am able to tell who is good and who is bad. There is no reason why people have to act like teenagers are babies. They are young adults and should know better than being around bad influences. But of course you’re going to try to look down on me. Go for it, it just shows your ignorance. :tsktsk:
I just knew I was gonna be sorry for that post:) No need for all that, nobody’s lookin down on ya and I was just sayin kinda tongue in cheek that you read pretty young sometimes and wasn’t referring to this particular post. If it makes you feel any better I figured you a bit older than 16.

If you consider yourself mature enough to post on forums that contain controversial and often heated topics, you need to be able to handle discussions and disagreements without having an online tantrum. Take a look back over what you posted and see how immature and insulting your reply is…you didn’t even give the person the benefit of explaining more on why he/she thought you were young before you jumped on here and started posting about how mature you are and how ignorant they are. That doesn’t exactly sound like you can control your temper. I think you should do the mature thing and issue Tiribulis an apology for your rant. If anyone on here was questioning the maturity level of 16 year-olds, your post didn’t help to put teens in a positive light about making good decisions when the pressure is on…

I would definately contact your neice and nephews parents and ask about the girls.

I don’t or wouldn’t call names…since I wouldn’t really know if the tats were real or not…could be pen and ink, could be temp tats…which you can get in a cereal box.

If I heard the cussing. I would ask them…“hey, can we tone the language a bit…I’d appreciate it.” As for the smoking…not in my yard or house. Isn’t it against the law for underage to buy cigarettes anyway? Not naive…I know they can stll get cigarettes.

I don’t see the attraction either…2 older teenage girls talking to two younger teens…who attend Catholic School…I wouldn’t see that they had anything in common to talk about. 🤷

I would make my “presence” known any time they were around. This may bug them…and they may move on because of it. You are in charge while the parents are away.

Be cool on the name calling…be firm on the smoking and cussing. The way they dress is irrelavent. Your neice and nephew don’t live in a fishbowl.

To be fair, Tribulus’ comment was not very nice at all and IMHO was unecessary. If she reacted with frustration and anger, it was because the comment was baiting for it. Why would she accuse her of being immature and say that it shows if she did not want some kind of reaction? Saying “I mean this in a nice way” does nothing to mitigate the imapact or the intent. If anyone owes someone an apology, it’s Tribulus.
Many people on this thread are reacting with anger to the OP calling the young women in the neighborhood “sluts.” If that is acceptable, why is BlueShadow’s anger at an insult directed specifically at her such a problem? Read back over some of the things other people have posted about the OP. The only difference is these other people are defending the young women and BlueShadow is defending herself. You really can’t insult someone, especially if it’s a touchy subject, and then wonder why they reacted. People much older than her on these forums have reacted like she did to insults directed at them. I think we all have to be more careful with our words.

I wasn’t throwing a tantrum. I just stated that teenagers should be able to look after themselves and be able to differenetiate bad and good. I took his post as if he meant i was not qualified to talk on here, and yes, i took offense to that. If you dont agree with me on something fine, but that doesn’t make me ‘immature’, it means we have different views on thins. Thanks.

Please do not refer to anyone with names that have insulting connotations. Thanks for your cooperation.

Not every young person can differentiate between good and bad. And you are not qualified to give advice when it comes to what to do as far as a parent or another adult in a temporary parenting role should do because you don’t have the experience yet. You can offer your point of view as someone the same age as the teenagers in question, but you do not have the experience to offer advice as a peer to any of the parents here. I hope you understand that.

And I also hope how getting your point of view across would have gone a lot better if you hadn’t used such deragotory names. As soon as you used some of the terms you did, I automatically dismissed most of your posts. That goes for anyone here, but if you want to be taken more seriously, don’t resort to the name calling.

I never resorted to ‘name calling’ unless you’re talking about when me and op called them tramps.
Which I already apologized for, so let it go.

As for ‘advice’ if my ‘advice’ is good, there is no reason why somebody shouldn’t be able to listen to it or take it to heart. Just because I’m younger does not mean that i cannot give out good advice so your statement was illogical. Disagree with me all you want, but this thread is not about you in the first place so i can give my (name removed by moderator)ut. If i never even said my age, you would never have even questioned my advice. If thats too much, then please don’t respond to me any more. Thanks.

Once again, part of growing up is owning up to when you’ve made a mistake and not going on the defensive about it. It’s also about knowing when to leave well enough alone. That being said, you’ve got a lot of growing up to do!!

Before these posts veered off the topic, some people said that it is wrong for these children to stay away from these girls.
But as I recall, Saint Paul said that “bad company ruins good morals”(1 cor 15:33). That is, the Bible itself says that it is better to stay away from bad company. I would think it a good idea to follow the advice of Scripture.

Actually, I guessed your age well before you revealed it. And I believe you can offer valuable insight to what young people are thinking on many subjects. But arguing that you should be taken seriously, only makes people do just the opposite.

Honestly you have a lot of growing, changing and developing to do in all charity. It’s impossible to see from where you are, but even between the ages of 16 and 20 you’ll develop a lot… Frankly even between the ages of 18 and 20 you’ll likely find that you have changed very significantly, so much so you may find even that you hardly identify with much of what you held at the age of 18.

Again, I post this in all charity. I don’t mean to dismiss what you post by any means, but I do mean to remind you that particularly in our culture when people “grow up” so late (even mid 20’s is considered childhood by many) you have to admit it’s going to be very difficult to grasp where us older folk are coming from… And I would hope that in some humility, you might accept that some of us older folks here, particularly those with childeren (something I admit I don’t have yet my sefl) might know better what someone is able to handle at some age in general.

Particularly at the very young age of 10, 11, 12 etc, it’s very difficult not to get swept up in what’s cool. These girls are a very bad influence, the childeren shouldn’t be exposed to it if possible.

often times inappropriate dress, language, behavior are the physical (outward) signs of deep woundedness. Why not discuss this teaching moment with niece and nephew and pray with them for their “friends”.

Heck, why not even invite them to sit with you under a tree and pray with you.( I suggest outside because not being comfortable with them in the yard, I’m sure inviting them in is out of the question,) If they aren’t interested they’ll probably leave on their own.

At the very least, pray for them.
