[SIGN]Jesus’ brothers were not his brothers, they’re his cousins, the word “cousin” did not exist, except when Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, 930 does not mean 930, a day can be anything from a day to 1.5 billion years, “turn the other cheek” has become: you can blow off someone’s head off who’s trying to break into your house, the tender-hearted, cute daddy in the prodigal son’s story is the same who inspired Israelites to ask a bunch of young men who wanted to marry Israelite women to get circumsized 1st, and while in the throes of masculine agony, kill them all, David was a man “after God’s own heart” but had countless courtisanes (say that to all those who come on CAF asking if masturbation is a mortal sin), the author of the Book of Genesis didn’t feel it was important to tell us how Cain was related to the woman he married (sister, niece or mommy) but tells us with a great deal of detail how God did NOT create the world, didn’t the man crucified next to Jesus need to go to Purgatory 1st before being with Jesus in paradise. Why was the Book of Revelation ever written if 99.9% of people have no clue what it’s saying? Were Adam and Eve grunting cave"men" or did we come up with the idea of “hominids” to take care of the people who lived before Adam and Eve to make Adam and Eve still believable? Being God-inspired I would have hoped the OT could have had more scientific authority than “Betty Goes to The Farm” Whatever people say, the sad truth is the Church is in a defensive position vis-a-vis science. It’s holding on to Adam and Eve and monogenism, trying frantically to keep the safe from science. It’s saying to science," You can have whatever you want, but please let me have those two, ok?". -Jesus’ brothers were His brothers.
-A day can not be other than a day when the clear context of the passage suggests it is a twenty four hour period. In Genesis at the end of each day it says and the evening and the morning were the first day…second day and so on.
-Turn the other cheek…still means what it says, we are not to revile when reviled.
-Taking old testament passages out of context does not change their veracity.
-David was truly repententant, read Psalm 51, whether you believe it or not does not matter as much as that God knew it
-Cain obviously had to marry a relative…a distant niece or sister perhaps…considering the longevity of Adam and Eve this would have gone without having to be said…even from the false evolutionary view we would have had to be related at the beginning…the laws pertaining to incest weren’t defined until the time of Moses by which time there were enough people to not have to marry close relatives
-Genesis gives us all the detail we need to know that God created the world
-The thief on the cross next to Jesus did not need to go to purgatory since purgatory does not exist anywhere in the bible…the thief next to Jesus went to paradise just as our Lord said
-Revelation is not impossible to understand but it does help to know a little about prophecy to start with from the books of Daniel, Matthew, etc.
-Adam and Eve were people like you and me…there was no death before sin and so there were no other ‘types’ of people…supposed cave men are all either human beings or apes or extinct species of apes
-The old testament does not need scientific authority since it is God’s word and that is as high an authority as you will ever have.
With all due respect, please consider the truth that we are all sinners and Jesus died to pay for our sins. Put your faith in that biblical truth and investigate the rest after God sends the Holy Spirit to live in you and guide you in all truth.
