I am an expert doodler. I’ve actually had people ask me to “doodle” a picture to be framed. Never taken time to do it:)

I double majored in anthropology and Biology secondary education.

I’m a really talented teacher (all glory to God) and a very good idea person, but I’m horrible at managing stress and making decisions in other areas of my life.

I am recovering from OCD…Kids will do that to you!

I worked in a Toll Booth to put myself through college. (cue the TollBooth Willie jokes! 😃 )

I have run a marathon and 4 half-marathons and hope to run more after this baby is born.

One of my favorite sandwiches is Peanut Butter, cheese and mayonnaise (DH makes a sickie face when he sees me making one  )

What a fantastic post.

Here are some of mine:
  • I am extremely patriotic.
  • I do Civil War reenacting – completely with sewing my own dresses, making my own hoop skirt, and camping in a white canvas A-frame tent
  • I cannot sit properly in a chair – I have to sit Indian style.
  • I bleed maroon – for those of you unfamiliar with that, that means that I am a die-hard Aggie fan – Gig 'Em
  • I’m an avid reader so much so that when I was in school I would read a book while waiting in the lunch line.
I’m sure I could come up with some more, but that’s the main ones.
Again, great thread!!!

I made a sickie face when I read that, I think I’ll take your word that it is good!

I once mixed sauerkraut and M&M’s. Not good. One of my favorite sandwiches as a kid was mayonnaise and salt. I guess we couldn’t afford meat. I think they’re disgusting now!

One other thing, I wrote my senior thesis in college comparing the actions of the 101st Airborne to the 4th Armored Division in the Battle of the Bulge (did I mention that I’m a woman who is NOT in the military?). Everyone looked at me with a confused look when I told them this, knowing that I"m not in the military, have no Army relatives (though I do have Navy family) and that this was a topic of MY choice.
That’s awesome! I did a freshman paper on the surrender at Bataan. I love military history and I’m not in the military though I have some family who were Army and one Navy.

I always say that I’m an incredibly boring person but…

-My family has a collection of well over 350 DVD’s (on last count, including tv sets)
-I am a descendent of Alexander Hamilton and also Irish Protestant rebels (there are Irish Catholics too, but they weren’t involved with any rebellions that I know of).
-I have a nice collection of combat knives from WWII.
-I am a die hard Arizona State football fan, even though I have never attended (nor plan to attend) ASU.

Fun thread!!! Hmm…

I’m a native Yankee (Boston) who’s lived 30+ years in as southern a state as you can get. (Culture shock!)

All of my siblings and I (4 of us) were adopted as infants; I met my birth mother once when I was in my early 40s.

I adore reading and history.

Travel is my biggest vice; I’ve been to 21 countries, and my favorite is New Zealand.

I’ve had several arts and travel articles published.

My housekeeping is OK, but I LOATHE ironing.

We (dh, two dds and I) had a private audience with Pope John Paul II in 2001.

Public speaking is terrifying for me; my voice quivers as if I am about to cry. I’d much rather write than talk.

I am NOT a morning person.

I’ve either worked for or volunteered with a ballet company since 1991.

My husband is a local TV news anchor (scary times in that business…)

My favorite food when I’m really hungry is New York style, thin crust pizza, with mushrooms when I’m good, pepperoni when I’m not.

I adore Thai and much Japanese food (not sushi…can’t do that.)

I am a huge Boston College fan (and alum), though I get too nervous to watch a whole game (especially football.)

I met Doug Flutie (football fans will know who he is…)

My handwriting is the worst; the nuns who taught me Palmer method would be most disappointed.

My dh and two daughters are the BEST!

I’ve written several novels about synchronized skating. Two are published, a third will come out soon. See my website in my signature.
WoW!! Very impressive!! I can skate backwards but that’s about as good as it gets for me. 😛

My husband and I both did this as children. Started in kindergarten or first grade, I think… It’s so addicting, because you start looking stuff up, and then before you know it, you’ve spent 2 or 3 hours surfing through the encyclopedia. 🤓 Yep, I’m a nerd.
Yes, and then they made the internet available at a reasonable price to everyone so now not only do I have the encyclopedia and dictionary I have the internet!

Something you all don’t know about me:
Like many I am shy unless it is something I am passionate about.

I love all my animals, took this “are you a cat person or dog person” silly questionaire in a magazine and came out 50-50 🤷.
My teachers had to make sure I wasn’t hiding behind the door when we went out to recess because I would rather read than play.
I like exercise.
I am a poor sport in games (probably why I didn’t like recess as much as others, I hated to lose and I also hated my reaction to losing).

Brenda V.

In high school I played trombone with a blue-eyed soul group called Little Richie and the Jesters. I was a jester. Had two or three gigs and never made a nickel.

I have read more than 300 books about the Catholic Church, saints, liturgy and Church teaching within a year of my conversion.

In 1963 when was about two, I severed my left hand and became the first child in the USA to have a severed limb successfully reattached. 👍

At 14.5 cm (5.7 inches) across (just the bones, not the skin or soft tissue), the bones of my knees are the largest knee joints my orthopedic surgeon has ever seen.

When I solve multiplication or subtraction problems in my head, I solve them backwards.

My eldest brother was the one principally responsible for developing the encryption and security systems that allow credit cards to be safely used over the internet.

My paternal grandfather was a geek. My father was a geek. My sister and two of my brothers are geeks. I am a geek and am descended from a long line of geeks.🤓

Let’s see:

My youngest sib is 19 years younger, which made him two years old when my eldest was born.

I think I would eat cardboard if it was covered in good chocolate.

I taught five out of six of my siblings to read, starting with the one closest in age when she was five and I was six.

I teach kids to spell and also think by making cheers out of the words, or singing them, and by teaching kids the phonetic alphabet from the military. So, the word “spelling” is SIERRA-PAPA-ECHO-LIMA-LIMA-INDIA-NOVEMBER-GOLF.

My senior thesis was on the contrast and comparison between Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and the movie “Apocalypse Now.” However, my concentration is in mid-twentieth century southern American authors.

I learned how to be Italian-like to bring my husband’s culture into our family. And I used to have coal-black hair and talked with my hands. But as far as I know, I am not even a little bit Italian.

I read the phone book, or when none is available, whitepages.com.

Hmmm…interesting facts about myself…

-I have a collection of sugar packets. (Yes, the little paper packets you get in restaurants and such; I must have almost 1000 of them by now.)

-I also have a collection of plastic toy horses. (Don’t believe me; try looking up “TraderTif” on YouTube; you can see my collection when it was at it’s biggest size.)

-I have a whole bunch of health problems, but I look perfectly healthy on the outside.

-I’m an only child, but I have 4 younger siblings who all died in miscarriages.

-I can juggle.

-My brain is full of useless information, like the complete lyrics to several Sesame Street songs, which I have been known to sing horribly off-key. (Much to the embarrassment of people standing near me.)

-I’m 27, and still don’t have a driver’s license. 😊

Hmmm…

I like cooking.

I am really shy…have been since infancy. You know how some babies smile at adults when they are being friendly? Not me…a big pout would come on my face.

I am the worse house keeper (I should be president of chaos Can’t have anyone over syndrome, thanks KC for that acronym btw.) But, I would really love my house to be immaculate…I just can’t seem to get it that way and to get other family members to cooperate.

I have duo citizenship with Italy…and I speak Italian, and Sicilian. (my Italian is somewhat rusty, but if I read it improves)

I can be cranky and have a Sicilian temper sometimes. Sometimes i fear I will turn into the Shirley McClain character in Steel Magnolias when I get older. 😊

I have a whole lot of useless facts and figures in my head.

I have been driving for 21 years…no moving violations ever and only 2 parking tickets.

How about going to 7 Elementary Schools and 4 high schools and never failing a grade. This involved living in 9 different homes from Md to Wva to Ohio and back to Md.
I am so glad I am retired and now its still even confusing:)

I love her character. I want to be Claree so we can hang out:D

*]I bleed maroon – for those of you unfamiliar with that, that means that I am a die-hard Aggie fan – Gig 'Em
Me too, class of '88. On my list of things people might not know about me: I did not miss a single Aggie home football game in my 4 years at TAMU.

WEG-- I’m blond and analytical… maybe that’s why I like you so much… 👍

Also, something others would not guess about me now (especially after my foot and ankle surgeries…) is that I was a RABID flag football player in my more athletic days… I love that sport!

Whoop!!! I technically did not attend A&M – took one course there – but it’s only because they didn’t offer my major. My sister did attend A&M, and she’s never seen the Aggies lose at home – unfortunately I’ve seen my fair share of losses at Kyle Field:D
