Good one Vern, 😉 yesterday while in a friends house, he told me to go to the cartoonist section.
It had Ian Paisely, Geffory Donaldson, Peter the punt Robinson, and it showed them around the table writing a response, to the standing down of the RIR.

Any Idea’s what they wrote ? well it only had one word. No !

Reminds me of Maggie Thatcher’s “Out! Out! Out!”

One of the great ironies of history is that if you examine all the nationalist wars of the 20th Century – from India to South Africa, you find that peace was finally achieved on the basis advanced by the nationalists in the first place.

All those deaths, just to wind up accepting what you could have accepted on Day One.

Yes and she treated Garret Fitzgerald like dirt on national TV with her out out out.
I thought it was discraceful to treat any leader of Ireland, or any other country like that, but she changed her mind after the Brighton bomb, that nearly wiped out the entire Conservative party, I’m not gloating, just telling you as it happened.

I replied to this posting once before and my brilliant response to a misguided and hateful outburst was eliminated (probably because I used the “quote” feature and the once-posted message was more than enough). It was a Doozie!

This evening I’d like to declare my respect and admiration for
Mr. Gerry Adams. He has worked for many years to create the political means that can effect a united Ireland. :tiphat:
All the back and forth about Irish persecution should move only toward a positive outcome - no lessening of the great efforts put forth.

I for one cannot understand people who are convinced that to defend themselves and loved ones from those that will harm them is not being a faithful Catholic!

Welcome back. My post was deleted as well because I responded in a spirited manner to the poster in question. Anyway I think that little set of posts was best parted with. We all seem to have gotten on very well after that, with a slight nod in the direction of anecdotes.

Nor would I gloat. I abhor the use of such tactics.

But when it comes to apportioning blame for all the lives lost, Maggie must definitely take her share.

American author Ken Kesey (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) wrote a novel called Once A Great Notion about the American Dream Oregon Style. The protagonist’s father nailed a rough board to the head of his bed and the inscription on it read: Never give a inch. Not an inch, but a inch without the ‘n’. Just the inanity of that reminds me of this Never never never deal. Shall we get him a pair of green leotards and a gal called Tinkerbell?

Ooooh. I read here that he has an honorary doctorate from Bob Jones University of South Carolina. Paisely is striking me so odd that I think we should have a limerick competition on the guy.

Reminds me of the Irish immigrants who tried to make a living taking in each other’s washing.

Stop patting each other on the back and listen to an opposing view for a change, you might learn something.

Such comments make me sick! Gerry Adams denies being a member of the IRA and yet it would be impossible for him to rise to such heights unless he was. When I think of the IRA I think of Al Capone.
 
It isn’t just the IRA that makes me sick, the Protestant para military does too. Bigotry and hate I don’t have, but after reading some of the comments on this thread I can understand why some people do .

The only “bigotry” I have seen addressed to you is a calm refutation of the idea that Northern Ireland is not part of Ireland.
