Is a proper understanding of the Trinity needed for salvation?

Unitarians specifically don’t believe in the trinity. That is what makes us Unitarians.

And, the one of the founding principals of Universalism is universal salvation, meaning nobody will be left behind, nor condemned.

So, according to the founding principals of my faith, the answer is no, a “proper understanding of the trinity” is unnecessary.

It seems to me that a proper understanding is required for salvation.
what is not required is a proper articulation of the understanding. This is a mystry that words can not contain, but the human conscience and heart can contemplate it.

“blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God”

one day, it occurred to me that if I was baptized in the name of the Trinity and call it often, what a misery that I don’t know much about it!!!

Many believe in God and that is all
the Christian, ‘click’ on God and the Creed continues:
‘The Father Creator of heaven…
The Son…
The Holy Spirit…life everlasting Amen’

What happen when we don’t understand…we are not very much different from other deists.
we live as we believe.
 
Understanding and articulation are to different things.
The Church has always had a proper understanding, but has articulated it differently through Time.
I am convinced that when the Great Schism is healed, there will be a new articulation of the Creed.

I agree, and I also believe a fundemental misunderstanding exists to a great extent.
