I don’t know what to say. Those drawings are simply amazing. They have such power in them. They are absolutely beautiful.

I agree with everyone else - these are so powerfully expressive - had you thought of having prints made, and selling them in sets through a Church bookstore? I bet you’d get a paying audience for these. 🙂

Those drawings came out during a pretty extraordinary set of circumstances, and with a lot of prayer. I drew them in Photoshop with a pen tablet, so it would probably be easy enough to get them printed. I feel a little weird selling them though since they’re so personal.

Right now I’ll concentrate on drawing/painting more and praying more, and we’ll see where God leads me. I do want to glorify him through the gifts he’s given me. I already started a painting this weekend 😃

Dear…i was impressed with the debth of emotion captured in these pictures. Jesus, and the crucifixion (passion) is a deeply emotiona topic. To see it is one thing, but to see and FEEL it is quite another.

My fave is the one where he falls for the third time. The life nearly expelled from him, and his DEFLATION can be seen in how long and low you made him. I could almost feel the dirt below him.

Extra-Ordinary as my son said about lovely things in life!

I’d love to see them in a church as the stations: etched in white on a flat, dark stone slab (obsidian, maybe, or even something more “slabby” like granite), with a simple Roman numeral over each. I think they are so striking, and very inspirational.

Not telling you what you should do – I know, what you create is so personal, showing it off feels like streaking 😃 – but I think they are very powerful statements of faith and devotion, and Jesus’ humanity comes through better than the syrupy sentimental pictures that pass for traditional Catholic art. Ironically, in these pictures, Jesus seems *more *real, *more *tangible, *more *like an ordinary person, than if He were in a photograph.
 
I agree Ghoti…there is much performance and prettyness in a lot of the churces art. The reflection was given to her with great prayer, and led by the holy spirit…why not use them in a church to truly show the Passion of Christs heartfelt passion.

When we FEEL it. We can apreciate his gift and sacrifice more!!!

Not so much “catholic as such” but always the truth is there and God’s love is in there as the gift he has given me.

I’m a guitarist of close to 40 years and yes it does play a role in my spirituality.

As of aproximately 5 years ago to present I only play for the church or religious occasions. My wife and I are in charge of the music ministry at our Spanish mass.

I have about 8 or 9 songs and/or musical arrangements completely of catholic theme.

I still play some of my favorite music (Flamenco and jazz) but I no longer do it publicly or for profit.

Looking back to the pictures on a black background of the stations of the cross…I could picture them in a better place than in the actual congrigational body of the church as stations around the pews.

Think of this…Stark white walls for their canvas…

A board room with a big table of rectangular shape. But…this board room is in the church, and is the room of which RCIA or Confirmation classes are taken. You do not even have to mention them, but over time, one would walk away contemplating the entire event of his Passion. RCIA goes all year long…the imprint this would make is a lifelong part of their journey!

IMHO, this is a wonderful use and setting for them!

Hmmm, how powerful to hone in your gift for his use. I wonder, can you or do you enjoy the music/vocals acompanied with a picked session of a 12 string acustic!

That is truly a beautiful setting musically for me!

I’m a writer - by hobby, avocation - and I’ve been published several times. Some of my writing referred to or was “religious” in nature, so I’d say yes, my Catholicism did play a role.
 
I am. I majored in fine arts in college, then got good and lost for many years.
Now I spend most of my time surviving with a “dayjob” I dislike (that’s one cross).
I have a little painting studio off my bedroom although I haven’t used it in a long time. I write screenplays, sometimes poems and essays although I’ve had writers block for a while.

When I returned to the Catholic church the story I was writing stopped. My artistic expressions have to change. I’ m no longer on the secular bandwagon. I thought of all the endless inspiration the faith offers to artists. There’s an infinite wealth of material.

Right now I’m just singing in choir because other people pull me out of my dayjob fatigue into expression in music. But I’m moving towards living on less and having a more spiritual and creative lifestyle. Thanks everyone for this beautiful thread. 👍
 
Yes, I minored in art at university. I don’t paint or draw as much as I once did, but I do love art and music. 😉
 
yes . i do some real life and abstract art with variouce paints but my favorate pictures are ilestrations of passages in the bible .
as a child i had a large print bible and used to doodle in the space on the page , my mother said it was sinfull to deface the bible but i thought god would be pleased that he was now in colour! :o i will try to uplode some of my latest pictures but i dont know how succesfull ill be (im some what of a computer cretin).

i no longer draw in bibles theres not enough space in adult versions:D
 
I am a New Zealander and do art have done so for some years now. I love to do wood carving ( native New Zealand Maori ) and paintiing and sketching. I would like to show you some but I dont know how to go about it???
May be youcould show me if you wish.
