Vitally important for promoting atheism. All that matters is reproduction, but people in the US are bombarded by companies, and media, that encourage us not to do that.
Not to mention Feminism, which is perhaps the greatest contraceptive device ever invented.

And yet the didn’t recognize Him when they saw him. What’s up with that?

Good dodge. Do you understand how drug discovery works? All the steps involved even before it goes into clinical trials with humans? You haven’t seen the TV commercials for new drugs? “Ask your doctor about WeirdName. WeirdName can help people with anything but does have side effects like liver damage, a risk of heart attack or stroke and (my favorite) death.”

If you can say that about a book you know nothing about, I can say thing about all those ID nonsense books. But there is one difference. I have actually read the books I am commenting on,
Good point, but I suspect books on the “truth” of evolution are pretty much all the same. One thing they all seem to have in common is a disturbing reliance on evolution’s triple-treat - baseless assumption, rank speculation and wishful thinking.

How does following Jesus’ teaching depend on who begat Jehosephee?

Evolution is an understanding of how selective advantages lead to changes in populations. Bacteria which are more resistant to an antibiotic will survive longer than the other ones. If someone quits their course of antibiotics too early, then they’ll have a population of bacteria which are more resistant to that antibiotic than the previous ones were, on average.

This is ultra-important, because understanding that mechanism more precisely can help us cycle antibiotics over the right times.

And lots and lots of fossils, DNA, and experimental evidence. You forgot that part.

You’re ruining it for everyone else. They’re not supposed to know it’s nothing more than “my teacher said it’s true.” No need to think it’s true just accept it.
Evo-dissidents should be rounded up and sent to labour camps.

Christ’s resurrected body was in a glorified state, so it didn’t have the same appearance as his earthly body.

Yes, comrade. The Technocracy is all. Science will save us… not some ignorant folk who wrote some ancient book which we must continually criticize.

And let’s not forget Dobzhanski’s claim that human embryos possess “gills”. Oh yeah, the standards of evolution science are right up there!

actually these cannot vary by much at all. Fine tuning is an argument for design.

When the experiments showed the earth does not move, this was unacceptable to Einstein. That is why he limited the speed of light. Lightspeeds above the constant he came up with would prove the earth stationary.

Who can fathom the mind that puts faith in an ancient book of myths rather than science? Such minds must be ill.

Nothing to do with evolution?
Nope.
If the bacteria developed into a human being or got together to create nuclear weapons, that would convince me there’s something to it. As it is bacteria beget bacteria.

This thread is one of the most pointless and depressing ones I have ever encountered. People who understand evolution don’t just ‘believe’ because the notions have been indoctrinated into them by unwitting teachers. There are all kinds of wonderful books and articles written by real scientists to be read. If you choose to remain willfully ignorant, don’t pretend to know what you are talking about. If you want to understand why evolution is so widely accepted across several scientific disciplines, get a library card and do your homework. Read books by people who don’t necessarily share your creed but who take their science seriously. Reading threads like this just might drive me to drinking! My spiritual self-flagellation has been reading this and other threads like it!

Edit: I didn’t mean to reply to you specifically, Glark. It was meant as a general post. Oops.

When something is repeated so very often by authorities, it can do that.

And just about every biology paper will always mention evolution as a talking point.

One can see it here. It is a difficult paradigm to change, but it is as we speak.

Let’s not forget Haeckel’s Embryos. A fraud that kept going for a while.

It’s amazing that they seem oblivious to the irony: Believing that life evolved from microbes is utterly useless to science. Perhaps they are so brainwashed that this simple fact has never occured to them.
