The Ethiopians took up arms in defense of their Church against the terrorist marauder Gragn and won, at great personal loss to the position of the faith in their land (before Gragn, 9 out of 10 Oromo were Christian; after him, 9 out of 10 were Muslim). The Christians of Lebanon, primarily the Maronites, took up arms against the PLO and its allies in Lebanon and “won” (in the sense that PLO had to leave), at great personal loss to the position of the faith in their land (it wasn’t until the latter half of the 1970s, when the war was well underway, that Muslims finally outnumbered Christians in Lebanon, primarily due large scale immigration of Christians from the country, though that had been going on since the inter-confessional wars of 1840-1860 under the Ottomans). The Assyrians took up arms to save their people and their faith many, many times, and though they had been promised time and time again their own sovereign land by the colonial powers, it was once again ceded to the Arab Muslims because they were the numerically powerful ones, and those same Muslims called upon their religious compatriots the Kurds to massacre the Assyrians at the time of Iraq’s “liberation” in 1933 when the Assyrians refused to disarm themselves.
This is the reoccurring pattern for Christians under Islam, especially in the east. In Ethiopia’s case, they were able to call upon the Portuguese for help. If any Christian people are today threatened because of their religion, what technologically-advanced power would provide similar assistance? We don’t need to wonder. We only need to look at how the Assyrians, Armenians, Copts, and other Christians are constantly shafted by their “friends” in the West, all in the name of installing democracy among Muslims who hate it (I’m not saying all Muslims hate democracy; I
am saying that democracy is considered to be a decadent western concept to many who would rather have Shari’a), or to keep good “relations” with these same oppressors, the Muslims (whether they are Arabs, Kurds, Turks…who cares…it’s all the same garbage).
So, yes, Islam is a threat to Christians (I don’t think Christianity itself will ever disappear, but it certainly might in certain locations), but our own apathy and squishiness is also to blame. We have the upper hand militarily, politically, and most importantly RELIGIOUSLY, but some of us are afraid to say it because we don’t want to be labeled “racists”. I’ll say it anyway, because Islam is not a race, it’s a corrosive ideology that rapes the world of its brightest sources of light in the name of creating a worldwide political theocracy that oppresses millions of Muslims together with less desirable people such as Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc. We are made into millet for the convenience of their rule, our children are made into janissaries, and suddenly woefully inadequate documents like the pact of Umar are to replace the REAL protection of the community and the faith that is guaranteed under truly pluralistic regimes like those in the West. And they have the nerve to tell us “real” Islam does only good for the world, Muslim and non-Muslim alike!
All Christian minorities in Muslim lands know better. Listen to them, not the rosy depictions of Christian-Muslim relations you’ll get from most other people (western Christians included).
