Is Islam true; how do I know it is not

Only thing I would disagree with is this:
In addition, you are likely to receive wrong information about Islam because of the Catholic bias on CAF, just as you are likely to receive wrong information about Catholicism because of the Muslim bias on a Muslim Forum
I don’t think that one is likely to recieve false information on either ways, just bias. Bias doesn’t necessitate false information.

Difference is those acts can’t be justified by citing to Jesus in Gospel

Whereas ISIS actions (beheading infidels) can be justified by citing to Mohammad who personally beheaded 600 infidels

Yikes! How did “jew world order, aka, antichrist” creep into the discussion?

The Catholic Faith was founded by Jesus Christ, True God and True Man. Islam (the word means “submission”, btw) was started by Mohammed, whom others have more accurately described on this thread.

Read “The Moslems” by Hilaire Belloc.

how did americans normalize abortion and homosexuality, and all other types of satanism? you tell me , buddy
I agree on that, but seriously how do you eliminate those evils? They’re so mainstream now it’s near impossible. I agree powerful forces in Hollywood, media, education, etc are behind it but let’s not label one religion

I’m a guy that doesn’t believe in any of it, but I’ll give Christianity this: when a religion is that old and involves that many people in it’s fabrication, the end product stands up a bit better than one-man acts.

Like with Mormonism and Scientology, you can see how Mohammed made it up. You can see the mistakes in the texts, you can see why Male heaven is so much more developed than female heaven.

Again, all religion is probably bunk. But you don’t have to be particularly smart to find the major flaws in religions started by mostly one person. Islam is one of those.

Christianity is the same religion as the Jewish religion of the Passover. Jesus was a Jew, as were the Apostles. Christianity is not a new religion, it is a continuation, a fulfillment, thus the reason our Bibles have the same Old Testament books as the Jews.

How do we know who Moses was? Because tradition, witnesses that were there and passed along that knowledge. Same for Abraham, Isiah, etc… each new prophet did not come along and rewrite who the other prophets were known to be or what they said. They all fit like a glove, all in harmony with one another. Also, was not each prophet a practicing Jew as his ancestors before him? Was Mohammed a practicing Jew? I do not believe He was. In my opinion, and in accordance with history, he does not fit in with the other historical prophets of the OT.

That’s why I say how can someone hundreds of years after Jesus answer the question of who Jesus was. It is impossible without the testimony of witnesses who were there. Those witnesses didn’t become martyres because they thought Jesus was just another good prophet, no, they were killed because they believed Jesus was the Son of God, the long awaited Messiah. And that is why Jesus was crucified upon a cross.

Do you believe Charles Taze Russel? Or what about Joseph Smith? They too tried to rewrite who Jesus was long after the life of Jesus. Christians can answer to who Jesus was in every generation, non stop all the way back to Jesus, there are thousands of documents to examine.

I’m sorry if me using all caps on words offended you. I wasnt trying to yell or be uncharitable, I was just putting emphasis on certain thoughts.

May God bless you and peace.

…and yet you are here at Catholic Answers Forum… In all charity, what exactly then are you hoping to find?

Well Hume thought so since he thought our passions rule our reason. Perfect excuse to do whatever you want. So religion can’t be valid in that fantasy world

I have prayed and every time a verse would not fail to come to mind. It would always be from the Quran and would say not to worship any one but Allah or be about Divine Justice (I.e. the day of Reckoning). Without any other verses coming to mind but these and other verses that apply. This was before I read the book so it couldnt have been my mind knowing what was there and choosing verses. Such verses also came like 16:18 and 6:153. The book is supposed to be from a false prophet but it says to WORSHIP GOD AND ONLY GOD WITH NOONE ELSE AND TO GIVE CHARITY AND TO BE GOOD.
If you like reading the Koran, read the parts a bout Jesus and Mary. See how many times in mentions Mary and how it venerates her, as the mother of Jesus. Why would the Koran give so much honor to the mother of Christ?

What anyone who comes to the realization that there probably isn’t a God is hoping to find, that he’s wrong.

God answers so many questions so well. The hardest part about non belief is dealing with the loss of metaphysical meaning the nonexistent god provided.

Ive read the Qur’an fully and am starting again. It venerates her because she was the mother of the prophet Isa (pbuh) and al-Masih and she herself is recorded as being a pious woman.

How many times is Mary mentioned in the Koran? How many times is the mother of the prophet Mohamed is mentioned?
According to the Koran, what happened to Mary and Jesus? Where are they now?

Thank you. I wish you love, joy and peace in your journey…

No woman is as venerated in Islam than Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her). I’m in class and we are starting soon. I will edit my reply later. It is incomplete but I’m busy

So the complete answer to my actual question is “zero”. Correct?

YHWH is the way it’s spelt. Not YHWY. Just a quick correction 🙂

I’m getting asked so many questions I cant keep up. Are you referring to the question about how many women are as important as Maryam or another question you perhaps asked earlier? If you are referring to mothers of the prophets, no woman is more holy than Maryam (may God be please with her) and that is why she is the only woman mentioned in the Noble Qur’an. The prophet Isa (pbuh) was also important because he was al-Masih. Besides, Allah chooses to do according to His will. I may not know much about the reason because I have only read the Quran 1 time, prayed salah a few times and know little about the religion. I am confident if I bring your concerns to the imam he will be able to answer well. Much better than Google can.

It was about how many mothers of prophets other than Mary are so venerated. I am not interested in any justifications you or the imam may have, it was simply a request for factual information, which was provided.
