Is it a sin or sinful to smoke marijuana?

If you have spoken to anyone who did only a couple tokes of something like “Thai-stick”, you will have first hand knowledge from the source regarding hallucinogenic properties.

I will not go anywhere near anything hallucinogenic …pot is one thing … but peyote … and what ever else is out there that is hallucinogenic … I will run the other way

from my personal experience of pot - it is not hallucinogenic. When I say that, I am coming from a place where I was not born yesterday … if anyone cares to read in between the lines.

I will pray that you are one day able to stop smoking marijuana. The body is a temple and we should not pollute it.

I’m Irish … and your prayer for me is like saying you will ask the Lord to help me stop drinking Guinness … lol

An occasional Guinness is okay. I also have a bit of Irish. 🙂

Then you may be irish but not Catholic. Because the Catholic Church believe in intercession and praying for people.:rolleyes:

I honestly and sincerely will accept any intercessory prayer by you on my behalf … thank you … and may whatever blessings I receive return to you 10 fold.

If you really mean it, let go of the ego and quit trying to play Im smarter than you.

Let me say my peace, and please understand and take it to heart. What you are doing alot of young kids are watching. And trust me they hear you. I love humor. But this to me is really not funny. I have seen what it has done to people I love. Drug dealers love you right now, they think you are awesome.

But Parents, I do not think they are crazy about you right now. Do you realize that one kid may not do pot just because its a sin, and that my be the only reason.

But you have confused them now. Who is telling them the truth, You or Me. They love you because you will help them fit in, you say its cool. Are you understanding what I am saying at all?

Is the ego worth it?🤷

Yes, I can completely understand your concern … and empathize as a parent … and while things may be OK for me, I honestly do not want to do harm to anyone … and so if my liberty is doing that to others … I sincerely apologize. I would be open to constructive criticism about what to do with this thread.

Thank-you. I really and truely mean that. I have seem in my own family that ole what started out to be a joke the law don’t understand.

And things may be OK for you, and I will not argue with that. You are one in a million. My brother thought that too. And if you are a parent and you do not think your kids know what you are doing. You are crazy. They know. Unless there are under the age of 4. They know, and will never forget. They are not stupid. Trust me if you on doing it I promise you they have a 97% if doing it too,

But you have to realize that my view on its use is not the same as yours … while I do acknowledge the potential issues that are associated. So my concern for my kids is not the same as yours. My thoughts are more on whether or not my sons know and love Christ … that for me is EVERYTHING. Please notice that I didn’t even say anything about the Catholic Church … yet 🙂

No disrespect but the way you live your life shows that. Because if bringing kids to God by saying that doing pot is recreation and okay, we can and never will agree. You could have found other ways to bring kids to God.

I mean in all honesty to this moment are you not saying that as long as you do pot now and then it can help you?😦
 
I was always taught that the reason God picked us as parents is to be an example. And is not the way we live the example. Not what are views are?

I mean having kids alone should be enough reason to quit!

Its ok - no disrespect taken … it will take more than that to knock me off my horse …

I don’t agree with you that the use of pot is an intrinsic evil. So the case you make about how I live my life and its impact on my kids doesn’t ring true for me. I am more concerned about whether or not I LISTEN to my kids, whether or not I have good rapport with them … whether or not they feel they can call me to talk anytime … whether or not there is honest communication between us … whether there is trust … whether or not i have a REAL relationship with them … and I could go on and on … I haven’t even begun to mention a Personal relationship with Christ yet
