Is it OK to be truly happy living in a world where more than 9,500 innocent children starve to death each and every day?

Tonyrey, you missed my question.
I will make it clear: according to the quote in my previous post, if the statue cries does that mean that Mary was sad, so it means that Mary was astray from Jesus?

Mary is crying to remind us of her suffering and the suffering of her Son who identified Himself with all those who suffer and “is in agony until the end of the world”. (Pascal) She is asking for repentance but that doesn’t mean we should let sadness dominate our lives and overcome her joy - and our joy - at the Resurrection. The Pope’s words remain true and irrefutable:
Christian joy is found in Jesus Christ’s faithful and boundless love, he said, that is why **"when a Christian becomes sad, it means he has strayed from Jesus.
**
I wish you and yours all the joy of the Nativity which dominates the birth of the New Year. 🙂

We agree that we should feel joy, but I’m afraid we disagree on the source of that joy. My contention is that it’s the joy of Christ and not the joy of this world.

Tonyrey,
Thank you. Hope we will all be blessed with the “joy from Christ”, long lasting peace, throughout 2014 and beyond.
Wish you all the best.

That would make me angry if it were a real photo; the reality is far more complex, in which those stealing the water are just as thirsty as those from whom it is being stolen, and often in places where the question “who owns the water?” would be met with a blank stare; they would assume that resources like water and air are to be shared according to the need, rather than sold to the highest bidder, or doled out by subscription.

And since water is a limited resource, let us hope that we are all limiting our showers, using low-flow toilets, and washing only full loads of dishes and laundry, so that there will be water for future generations to use.

“all the joy of the Nativity” is clear enough for anyone who is not negative. 🙂

Rape, murder, abortion, starvation, euthanasia, pain and suffering etc. etc. is reason for negativity in this miserable and corrupt world, I would think.

It’s a reason for prayer and action, Robert. I wish you a very positive Happy New Year.
Why not simply acknowledge that we live in a miserable and corrupt world? What would it take before you see this world as being miserable and corrupt?

Happy New Year to you too!

Why not simply acknowledge that we live in a miserable and corrupt world? What would it take before you see this world as being miserable and corrupt?
That the sun goes out, roses stop growing, and babies stop cooing. 🙂

Let me rephrase: How sinful and evil must the world be before you view it as corrupt and miserable?
Much of the world can be corrupted and made miserable by sin and evil, but to say that the whole world is corrupt because of the evil in it is an overstatement.

No matter how much evil resides in the world, I will continue to strive to see the good which God has placed in it.

We live in a world of good and evil; to focus on one while ignoring the other is a sign of spiritual ignorance.

Am I not, perhaps, My obstinate and stubborn Children, The Owner of all that exists? Don’t you believe that if you instantly give that bread to the hungry that I will fill your coffers each time you are hungry that I will satisfy your appetite?

You don’t see the birds of Heaven storing the grain, or the animals fish more fishes than they need for their nourishment; they trust that the Lord of Heaven and Earth will give them their respective food each Day./SIZE]

Leave for each day what is proper and don’t go about accumulating and treasuring because that is only fear, which nothing else but lack of faith in My Paternal Provision. Or is it by chance that you don’t trust in your Father? Do you believe Your Father is poor or that He forgets of feeding his children? Which one of you having a small child by chance forgets to feed him for days? If you who are bad and don’t give your children a stone when they ask for bread, much less I that I am your Holy Father since eternity.

Belive on me, you will love to read it all.

Please, just try.
