Is it Right for the Catholic Church to fund groups that attack the American Way of Life?

Because they are not entitled to those rights. If they want those rights, they should fight their own governments to get them.

That huge group of people should not have been born in the first place. It is the responsibility of the parent to feed the child. It is that way in nature. Parent takes care of child.

Huge families are no longer needed like in the days of large farms and ranches. There simply is no excuse for these large populations to exist.
So, on top of your other negative characteristics, we can now add that you are pro-abortion. Just keep talkin’. It just keeps getting worse.

Are you promoting birth control now? or perhaps abortions for the poor:rolleyes:
or maybe you believe that poor couples should be denied the marital act.
Here’s a point that I have tried to make over and over again.

Do these people have any responsibilities over their own lives. Do you consider them mentally challeged or something. A sexual sin for a person from Guadamala is the same sin for me and you.

Did anyone hear me say the word abstinance? I said it a few times already. What makes you think that all these people are married? I’ve said in another post that almost 40% of children born in the US today are from unwed mothers.

A sin for a rich man is a sin for a poor man. A sin in Africa is a sin in Beverly Hills. A sin in 200BC is a sin in 2009AD. Stop shifting the blame to others.

If you can find anywhere in any post that I have made at any time, that I ever said the word “abortion”, I’ll eat my computer.

It seems as though you people like to misquote, misjudge, and misinform rather than actually work on a solution to the problems of the world.

What is your solution for the overpopulation then? Most people who have a problem with overpopulation advocate birth control, euthanasia and abortion.

And by the way, the Bible is pretty clear about having children. And the Church is pretty clear about birth control and being open to life.

The bible said it’s OK to overpopulate the world??

What bible are YOU reading.

We are all responsible for our actions. Teach abstinence. Absolutely. And what if the teenager becomes pregnant? What’s the solution? The teenager shouldn’t have been irresponsible. But, that becomes irrelevant once a child is conceived. It isn’t the child’s fault. What is your solution?

Sin? What of it? You do it. I do it. We ask for God’s grace and mercy. We seek forgiveness. We make amends. We deal with the repurcussions. But the solution cannot, should not, ever be some form of “population control”.

What does, “Be fruitful and multiply” mean to you? It means what it says. No if’s, and’s or but’s. You are forgetting one very important part of the equation - God. I’m evidently reading the Bible that is sitting on your bookshelf with dust on it. You know - the one that says “God is love”. The one that says “love your enemy”. The one that says “pray for those who curse you”. The one that says, “love your neighbor”. Shall I go on?

Take a look at China , India, many African nations. That’s what happens when culture overrules common sense. People are suffering because of the sins of the fathers.

If a priest is expected to control himself, why can’t others?

Again the same statistics. In the 50s in America, only 5% of pregnancy were from unwed mothers. Today it is almost 40%. What does that tell you.

The population of the world used to be controlled by a short life expectancy due to diseases and war. Since medical advances, people are living longer and infant mortality is way down. This is a recent development from the last century.

Be fruitful and multiple sounded like a good idea in the days when the bible was written and there were very few people in the world compared to today. The party’s over!

Bishop Sheen was once questioned by a person who said," But we are sexual creatures. Shouldn’t we follow our natures?"

The Bishop replied, “Yes! We must follow our natures. But our natures shouldn’t be that of a pig!”

Culture/common sense. Sins of the fathers. Yeah, you lost me. Last I knew, though, China was controlling their population - by murdering children. Should we take that approach? By the way, you still haven’t answered me. I want to know what your solution of the world’s overpopulation is? If not abortion and euthanasia, what is it?

You are showing your lack of understanding of Catholicism. Priests are “called” to their vocation to remain celibate and it is a discipline of the Church. Some people are “called” to be married and produce families. Some are not.

It tells me that our culture has disintegrated into a “me, me, me” philosophy intent on fulfilling every desire of the flesh. What of it? The largest group of people in the world that is trying to combat this philosophy is catholicism - which you have repeatedly attacked. 🍿

Oh, I get it. So, here’s your plan: allow widespread disease across the globe, have as many wars as possible, stop producing medicine that helps people live longer, forego pre-natal care to pregnant women and allow babies to die. Wow. Problem solved, I guess.

Tell that to God, not me. Be aware, He has never changed that policy. He may disagree with you. I’m not an expert on over-population and it seems there are arguments on both sides of the issue. I leave that to the experts - not to you or myself.

And do you even realize where he was going with that? You only understand and internalize what you want to, I suppose. If taken in context (which you have provided none), I would think that he is advocating abstinence and self-control, not population control by any means necessary.

I’m going to do what you do:

So your answer to the world’s overpopulation problem is Viagra!

Diversion. I get it. It’s what many people do when they’ve been caught with their pants down showing their be-hind.

You still haven’t answered my repeated question - that is, what is your solution to this supposed over-population problem? You’ve skipped around it long enough. I’ve told you what my position officially is. I’ve repeated it. I’ll repeat it again.

I am pro-life. That means: no abortion and no euthanasia. And that also means that I’m for moral means of supporting human life. Human life is sacred. Human life is not a statistic, certainly not to the Creator of human life.

That’s my position, loud and clear. What is yours?

And by the way, remember my post a while back that had two words - nationalism and racism? Guess what I’m thinking right now. Change my mind.

First, you should really learn to use the quote feature properly.

Second, you should consult your doctor before taking Viagra. Viagra isn’t for everyone and could result in some uncomfortable symptoms. Viagra is unnecessary for most people.

Third, a “calling” is from God, not from man. Some are called to be celibate, some not. St. Paul felt called to be celibate and remained so. His calling was to do the Lord’s work. Most people are called to have families.

Fourth, I know what bitterness can do to a person. I know what hate can do to a person. It destroys them inside, leaving only a cold, cold heart that barely sees the beauty and sacredness in others.

Fifth, I’m going to pray for you tonight. Not because I pity you. Not because I’m better than you. But because my Father in Heaven loves you and wants me to love you too. I’ve been there before, you know.

People who have wronged me, done terrible, unspeakable things to those I love. But it wasn’t till I began praying for them; prayed for forgiveness to enter my heart; prayed for mercy for them, etc. that I truly saw the meaning of life. To simply love and be loved, without condition.

My friend, I too, am multicultural and have faced some nastiness, my grandmother had it especially rough. That fact however, does not color my reason from wanting solutions for root causes. You are not a US citizen. May I ask the country of your citizenship? I’m curious as to the immigration rules.
I’m an Irish citizen but I’ve lived in England all my life, I was told before Christmas that I’m not actually a citizen of the U.K, which was somewhat confusing.

Immigration in the UK is fairly liberal and despite what the right wing newspapers would have you believe, on the whole immigrants have had a positive effect here.

How about the first few pages, Be fruitful and multiply. That is in Genesis in case you don’t know.
That’s the one thing those immigrants are good at but I don’t think they found that in the bible.
