ha–I need to read through entire threads. It’s like I just can’t do it!
You’re in my prayers, shadow. I can’t tell you how to live your life, but I do know there to be absolute truths…Truths that God wants so much for us to live. Even if one feels he/she is called to the gay lifestyle, born into it, etc…one needs to turn those feelings to God…and ask God…‘what should I do?’ Logically, I don’t see God accepting two contrasting lifestyles…largely and mainly due to the fact that gays physically can never be open to life. He made man and woman to create children. Now, that debate can go back and forth to…well, how about heterosexuals who can’t have kids? True. But, we live in an imperfect, fallen world. God created man and woman, with ***the intent ***to create life together…naturally. So…that being said…I think that the gay lifestyle simply cannot provide life…through the union of a man and a man…or a woman and a woman. It is impossible. The
union cannot produce life. Yes, they can have artificial insemination…but with that, I would imagine (if I were gay, I would struggle with this) that there has to be a guilty feeling in just ‘re’ creating my life out of the natural order.
It’s more than a lifestyle issue for me…when I think about God’s vision for a marriage…part of that vision is to have the ability to have children…through a natural union.
So…there’s my 2 cents. Not looking to really debate it, but just wanted to share that because it’s important to understand why a Catholic thinks the way he/she does about this.
