Why doo Catholics believe Mary to be queen of heaven?
Thanks for asking the question, I think most Catholics are always looking for an excuse to talk about Our Blessed Mother, just a guess though. We believe it primarily because it is the truth and revealed to mankind by God.Why doo Catholics believe Mary to be queen of heaven?
MUNIFICENTISSIMUS DEUSWhy doo Catholics believe Mary to be queen of heaven?
- Hence the revered Mother of God, from all eternity joined in a hidden way with Jesus Christ in one and the same decree of predestination,(47) immaculate in her conception, a most perfect virgin in her divine motherhood, the noble associate of the divine Redeemer who has won a complete triumph over sin and its consequences, finally obtained, as the supreme culmination of her privileges, that she should be preserved free from the corruption of the tomb and that, like her own Son, having overcome death, she might be taken up body and soul to the glory of heaven where, as Queen, she sits in splendor at the right hand of her Son, the immortal King of the Ages.(48)

The simple answer is because Jesus is King of Heaven and Earth, therefore his mother is Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Indeed she does. She is the first to do so–the first Church of Christ. Her place is exalted because God exalted her in the Incarnation. He has often chosen people for special roles in his plan of salvation. We would be niggardly to ignore whom he has exalted and who have obtained perfection in his grace. Indeed, we need her and other saints as examples and as prayer partners in our struggles here on earth.I read the Catholic Bridge article. It thinks of Jesus in terms of an earthly king, and reasons that He must have a queen to reign beside Him. This is worldly thinking. What He does have, is a bride. We are to reign with Him as kings. That is why He is called “King of Kings” in Revelation. Mary also takes part in this just as we do.
No it isn’t.I read the Catholic Bridge article. It thinks of Jesus in terms of an earthly king, and reasons that He must have a queen to reign beside Him. This is worldly thinking.
Indeed, and it all has to do with his being the Second Adam, the title St. Paul liked to use. Mary is the Second Eve. Without her consent, the Age of Grace, which was ushered in at the Incarnation would never have happened. She corrected Eve’s no to God with her yes to God. If that isn’t reason enough to honor her, I don’t know what is.No it isn’t.
You evangelicals always want an example from the Bible, and when Catholics give you one, this time from the Old Testament, you say it’s ‘worldly’.
Jesus IS the earthly AND Heavenly King.
Is Jesus a king? Why doo Catholics believe Mary to be queen of heaven?
New Testament addendum:The OLD testament talks about idolizing
a “Queen of heaven”, but that was before
GOD made Mary the true Queen of Heaven!!
Jer. 7:18 talks about it, but those people
DIDN’T know the TRUE Queen of heaven!!
Some versions say “in the heavens …”.Revelation Chapter 12:1 A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

We do not ignore Mary, buy neither do we ignore what God has said and is doing. If one were to ask of Jesus, Who is thy mother? What would He answer? His answer was, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father, which is in heaven, the same is My brother and sister and mother. This means that we are all on an equal footing. There is no respect of persons with God. Mary is not to be confused with the church. The church is built on the apostles.Indeed she does. She is the first to do so–the first Church of Christ.
