Is Mozart, the Freemason "Offlimits" for Traditional Catholics?

Certainly not I should think! I adore Mozart, and I greatly admire the works of Bach, despite being a protestant. I had the oppurtunity to hear Bach’s Mass in B-Minor in concert recently and it is simply amazing, the peak of the decadent Baroque. Also, I think Mozart’s Requiem is one of the greatest musical works in existance.

I wonder if it ever occurred to some people that perhaps there might be a few good freemasons. Gen. Douglas MacArthur comes to mind.

I’ll say my beads tonite for Pope Piux IX. Not only because of you, but because I believe his work here on Earth has prepared a lot of good Catholics for the rigors of the 21st century.

It is quite a stretch to equate freemasons with Satanists. So, no, I would not say that.
Is it really “quite a stretch”?

Of what theology is “indifferentism”? Is it of God [Catholic]?

Not that Mozart (or any other “Freemason”) worships Satan, but, as Catholics, we should never get over their belief system…

I never said we should accept their belief system. All I was saying is that there can be good and moral people who also happen to be freemasons.

According to Pope Leo XIII They sound pretty Santanic to me…

."(12) Now, the masonic sect produces fruits that are pernicious and of the bitterest savour. For, from what We have above most clearly shown, that which is their ultimate purpose forces itself into view - namely, the utter overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things in accordance with their ideas, of which the foundations and laws shall be drawn from mere naturalism…"

Of course I don’t think a Satanic spell will be cast over you if you listen to Mozart, nor you will reject your faith from listening to Bach.

I doubt Freemasons intend to do evil, which I would assume Satanists do.

So, destroying the Church isn’t “evil”?
Pagans such as the Roman Emperor Trajan persecuted the Church, yet Pope St. Gregory the Great was so moved by a relief showing the emperor helping a woman whose son had been killed that he begged God that the pagan be spared from the pains of Hell. So perhaps Freemasons are capable of doing good, even though their beliefs are not necessarily Christian.

But, nonetheless, the BEST of Freemasons are capable of doing evil, correct?

So are the best of Catholics - and much more capable of damaging the Church in particular. St Paul himself made a solid attempt before his conversion.

Nothing wrong with listening to Bach or Mozart using their talents to glorify God, particularly in their Masses. Better that than a lot of the heretical and musically banal trash that passes for Christian music today.

So are the best of Catholics
So, the BEST of Catholics are able to destroy the Church?

You seem to have a rather low opinion of what the BEST of the Church, Herself, has to offer.

All you said was capable of evil. Which Catholics are to the same extent as anyone. We’re all human, all capable of any sin - being Catholic hardly makes any of us bulletproof or s(name removed by moderator)roof, and you’re naive if you think otherwise.

That sort of guarantee of sinlessness only applies to Jesus or the Blessed Virgin.

I also, on the other hand, very firmly believe that we’re each capable of every virtue as well - it’s part of the joy of being human.
