Is Muhammed in Purgatory and should we be praying for him?

I pray frequently for all the souls in Purgatory. If Mohamed is there, then I am praying for him.

We should all pray for the souls in Purgatory. They are our neighbors, after all. They are friends and family - and even our enemies who have repented at the last.

P. S. I will report the next person who tries to derail this thread into a discussion about purgatory to the moderators. If you want to talk about it, start a new thread, or read some of the zillion other threads on the issue. :tsktsk:

how do u know your enemies repented at the last ?

Many Christians believe Prophet Muhammed (p) is an enemy as he mislead/ still misleading billion Muslims. I can safely say u that Prophet did not repent for Islam as he believed ( correctly indeed ) that it’s the only true religion chosen by the God Almighty.

Only God knows who repented, or found Him at last. Is not for us to know.
And the Catholic Church teaches officially that Muslims are in the plan of salvation. CCC 841 Catechism of the Catholic Church #841 All churches/Faiths should respect each other, and try to stop evils together, as God wants. That is Catholic Church Teaching. Islam, Christianity are not the problem. It is a Few who Use Religion for false reasons, evil reasons that are. They violate their own faiths.
And The Church teaches that God did not create evil. Evil is the absence, the opposite of Good. And a careful look indicates us Humans create our own evils and problems, not incliding illness, natural disasters.

But Catholics accept Purgatory based on sacred Tradition (which is valid to them) and many Catholic scholars believe that Luke 16:19-31 is about Purgatory and not Hell. You cannot prove that which you lable “false” if it is believed to be “true” to others who can’t prove their viewpoint either.

I really don’t understand why people bother with religious debates like this… chances of anyone being convinced of anything based on the flimsey evidence seems odd to me.

he was a regular simple business dealer.
he wasnt extremely schooled, thus explaning the divine wisdom taught to him by the Angel Gabriel.
he married many women with different backgrounds and ages to prove that no matter who or what you are you can still love one another as you would yourself. the complex intricate network of his househould is the basis of the first welfare system.

the reason why the Koran has to be memorized is so that nobody can alter it, the torah, a message handed down directly by God to Moses was corrupted through time during the babylonian era where the kabala was mixed with the torah. the 4 gospels (known in the koran as possible they Injil, basically what Jesus taught, said, and did) is what makes up the New Testament, however the Holy Bible has been corrupted through Roman Emperors, jews and possibly the masonry, leading to the Koran, a diving message from God through the Angel Gabriel.

Roman Catholics used to be the biggest religion, but now its Islam. Aint that funny? I am Roman Catholic but its not about being a Catholic, Evangelical Christian, Orthodox Jew or Muslim. Muhammed is in Heaven. There is no such thing as eternal Hell, but if justice was to be had upon him then he would’ve more than likely been purged of it already. God does not allow eternal suffering so yes I believe he is in Heaven right now as we speak. =)

A few Key thoughts: The Church (Roman/Eastern/Orthodox) teach that Before Our Saviour came, there was no Heaven/Hell/“Purgatory”. Only a 'Holding place". And These Apostolic Church Founded by Jesus are Vastly Larger than Islam. Vastly. Vanquisher is grossly mistaken. The Church teaches is Only One afterlife. One Heaven, One Hell, One Cleansing process for each Human.

Muhamed did not know The Church enough to reject it, or think he was a heretic. Thus he is Very unlikelly to be in Hell.
And the Catholic Church teaches that Each of us has to Choose Hell, By Knowing Christ, the Church fully, but Rejecting them with sound mind; Or Not repenting, Being Glad until Death of Having committed a Serious Death in God Sin.

God sends no one to Hell, Intends Heaven for each of us after purification
The Church Never teaches Any Verse can send any Person or Group to Hell. Only God Decides, Not us.

Hello All,

I’m not sure if this is the right forum for this question. If not, please let me know. This is my first post. I just joined today, but have been “lurking” in the forums for awhile.

Anyhow, my question is related to my belief that each person is responsible if they cause another person to sin. If so, is Muhammed in Purgatory and suffering more for each sin committed in the name of Islam?

I am a Catholic and admittedly do not understand Islam completely. IMHO, Muhammed was completely misguided and made this stuff up so that he could have sexual relations with whomever he wanted. Please correct my understanding if it is wrong: A Muslim man may have 4 permanent wives and as many “temporary” wives as he wants. The temporary marriage can be for 1 hour/1week/1 month/whatever. Also, if a Muslim man divorces his wife (“I divorce you” 3 times) and later decides he wants to remarry his wife, the couple goes to a mediator. After mediating, the wife has to have sex with the mediator, wait a certain period of time (? until she has her menstrual cycle ?) and then the couple can remarry. (Please correct me if I misunderstood what I read.)

In any event, I genuinely believe that these multiple marriages are sins. However, a Muslim who has been raised this way and doesn’t know any better is just following what he/she has been taught. Are they then not responsible for these sins, but Muhammed is since he started this practice?

And, should we be praying for his soul if he is in Purgatory. I frequently pray for all the souls in purgatory and specifically for my deceased relatives, but should I pray for Muhammed? Please note that I am not trying to be funny or disrespectful. I take praying for deceased people VERY seriously.

An anti-Christ is anyone who denies Jesus is God and Mohammed denied the divinity of Jesus. That means if Mohammed through his own choice died still denying the divinity of Jesus then he would go to Hell.

Do you understand what divinity means with regard to Jesus. It means Jesus is GOD. Muslims do not believe he is God and the Koran makes it very clear that Jesus is only a creature and not divine.
Very easy to clear this up. This question is to any Muslims in this thread. Do you believe Jesus was a creature (i.e created by God) and a prophet only or do you believe Jesus is God?
