It’s pretty weird how you mention masturbation, because that’s one of the reasons why I got close to my faith. When I was 16 I started doing it, not knowing it was sinful, but once I found out, it was too late, I had an addiction to it. I then started reading the bible, then I started going to church, and as for music I have a very different view on it. I used to not pay attention to the lyrics, I would only listen to the quality of the song. Now that I know the lyrics I am cautious about what I listen to.

Although I still listen to secular music, I don’t listen to everything I used to listen to.
i only did it once a day, not 3-4 times a day like many people my age and im only 3 Months into the struggle. I started when i was 13 and now, 2 years later, im fighting to get rid of it. At my age its not necessarily the easiest thing to do. Anyways i still play these video games and i will try to manage my time so that i may do everything i am asked and play video games and go to school, etc…

I never did it 3-4 times a day neither. I struggled with it for about a year.

I suggest that you intense yourself in prayer. I got myself used to praying the rosary frequently, and I would pray to Jesus and Mary to help me with my problem. Eventually I saw myself not have the urge to do it anymore, and I didn’t give in when I was tempted.

Thanks. But i have a problem. The thing is that my parents seem to tell me that i take the bible too seriously. they think that its good that i read the bible but they think that its affecting me by causing what they say is unnecessary anguish. As in feel i go too much by the book. as in i stress and anguish over things i dont even know are worth worrying aboOut. i dont even know if ot was wotth posting this question. that o worry too much on what i do or eat. Just by thinking about god i feel terribly worried. Am i putting too much stress on myself??? Should i be more relaxed and nothet be with so much anguish???

Yes, I think you’re needlessly splitting hairs. If you’re splitting hairs over anything, it best be over your conduct with your neighbor, friends, family, acquaintances; and whether or not you live out the word, not just study it, and go to mass. Some can do that in their sleep (don’t like putting it that way, but it can happen).

I’d be more worried about the games taking over your life, or extreme zealousness over your church activities, where you forgo your practical, earthly obligations, while still on Earth. It’s about being obedient to the life-creating Trinity. As, you’ll get older, you’ll see things as not so clear cut, which is where discernment is needed most. It makes being obedient tough, but not difficult.

Living out the word is basically keeping the commandments, the ones i see a problem with is 6(ive gotten angry at others and its considered murderer in the heart), 7(you know why), 9(sometimes i tend to tell very small lies). But other than that, it feels like getting into heaven is increasingly difficult and im definately trying to keep these commandments. I don’t think i have been in a situation where i would have to live out his word(as in a situation in which i had to go by gods word to identify an answer), I have managed to escape the temptation of masturbation sometimes, but its still happening, I think that i might have to give this fight more time, that as i grow, i will be more spiritually wise and more fixed and obedient than i am now, and that i shouldnt worry so much and to trust god that he is going to fix me because im putting ALLL my trust into him hoping that as i grow, he will fix everything that is wrong with me.

There’s an examination of conscience that I use that lists “Dungeons and Dragons” as being a venial sin against the 1st commandment. I would say that playing mortal combat could possibly fall into this category.
This is obviously the person who wrote your examination’s own opinion. The Church does not prohibit playing D&D any more than it prohibits reading Lord of the Rings.

OP, playing fighting games is not inherently sinful. If it does not cause you to want to actually fight or something, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Well no one is perfect.

well no one is perfect, that doesn not mean that we are to use that as an, excuse to do whatever we want, but it means that we need to know that no matter how hard we try, we will not be pefect. There is a saying that even the just man falls seven times a day. We all sin everyday.

Remember God’s divine mercy

hey guys. I play that is called
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
It does have some violence in it, because you do have to KO enemies(its a crossover fighting game) you have to actually look it up to understand how it plays. here is some gameplay.
This is NOT a sin. Why on earth would it be??

I’m a huge fan of Marvel vs Capcom 2 by the way… never played the 3rd one yet.
