Is the left coming for Christian schools? And...what will Biden do if he takes the presidency?

Rod Dreher has a scary article talking about how the left in the US is targeting Christian schools:

Dreher points out that the Associated Press is aghast that Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett “served…on the board of private Christian schools that effectively barred admission to children of same-sex parents and made it plain that openly gay and lesbian teachers weren’t welcome”

Dreher adds sarcastically: “Let me explain something to the Associated Press: there is this thing called the Roman Catholic Church, and it teaches that marriage is only between one man and one woman. It also teaches that sex outside of a lawful marriage is sinful. It teaches that homosexual acts are sinful. It has done this for almost 2,000 years.”

There have been numerous cases already against Catholic and Christian schools for holding to traditional belief with regards to homosexuality. What will happen if Biden wins?

Dreher admits he doesn’t like Trump, and didn’t want to vote for him. But the knowledge that “If the Democrats take power and hold it, it will only be a matter of time before they come after traditional Christian (and Orthodox Jewish, and Islamic) schools on anti-discrimination grounds” has convinced him to vote for Trump.

What do you think?

Better tell Pope Francis. He supposedly condones civil SS marriage.😳

H.H. Pope Francis is not open to extending marriage to same-sex couples. There was a remark about civil union (which is not marriage). An October 21, 2020 Washington Post article by Chico Harlan, Michelle Boorstein and Sarah Pulliam Bailey states that “By all accounts, he remains staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage.”

I don’t think the left cares much about your Christian schools, as long as they don’t receive tax dollars.
The school in question in the article, did. The left (i am speaking for all of them, without their permission 🤣) has a huge problem with that.

What would Biden do if he takes the presidency? For Christian schools you mean? Nothing.

If Biden wins, do you really think he’s going to be making the decisions?
Removal of Biden, Harris becomes president. Bible believing Christians will be under her heal. Whoever will become vice is already picked too.

I think this article is hilarious.
Dreher is so over the top homophobic but seems to think he’s able to hide it. It’s fun to watch him "cleverly use dog whistles and code words while clueless that everyone has long figured out what they mean. His version of the persecution complex is so overblown that I’m sometimes not sure that it’s a parody.

It is hard for me to believe the truth in this proposition. Texas is one of the most conservative states and one of the least friendliest to Christian schools.

Someone should propose that if kids attend a non-state school, the parents might get a tax rebate for saving the State money!

The tax money for public schools isn’t tuition, it is a society supporting a pubic good of living in an educated populace, which is something EVERYONE benifiets from whether or not your kids attend public schools. People with no kids contribute to public education, because they benifiet too.

Lol! It’s more fun living in a country where you have to go through a ridiculous ritual of pretending to be religious to get your child baptised to get them into a school.

Yeah that article is just full of dog whistles, that are more like fog horns. We all know what they mean.

I think the reason religious schools are allowed to remain is they save the taxpayers a heap of money

It may interest people to know that Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario have Catholic schools run by their own school boards that are funded by public taxes. Every year you are sent a letter asking you to choose where you want your tax dollars sent: public schools or Catholic schools. You decide.

And yes, Catholic schools in Canada run into the same issues as in the US. Are certain types of discrimination legal on religious grounds.

Sure. And there is also the fact that most of us believe you have every right to send your kids to private Christian schools

I think any fears about that are overblown. Even if, and that’s a big IF, the government were to go after religious schools on discrimination grounds, court rulings in similar cases have gone in favor of the religious institutions of late. And that was before Barrett’s all but certain placement on the bench and her almost certain votes to further that (replacing Ginsberg who usually voted the other way).

Of course, but the powerful teacher’s union, is a main prop of the Democratic party, and it is vehemently against private or charter schools.

Dreher merely repeats Christian dogma held for 2,000 years in Christianity, and longer than that in Jewish belief. .

God does not make mistakes.
