What merciful God? One that believes that all Christians and Jews should be forced to convert to Islam or be killed??? This is not the same God I know!
Vickie
Well the Roman Catholic Church says it is the same God. I quote again from
CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
SECOND EDITION
841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
I as a Baptist can disagree and show the obvious falsity of the beliefs of a Muslim from the scriptures (ie Christ’s Deity, Death and Resurrection which are true and accepted by faithful Christians and are seen as false in the Muslim worldview), but you as a Roman Catholic are bound by the CCC and are not free to believe they worship a false or different god. So you may want to think about why Rome believes it can suspend the law of non-contradiction and declare those who worship a different god as actually worshipers of the one True God of the Scriptures.
Compare the QURAN
[4.157] And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and
they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and
they killed him not for sure.

Matthew 27
31After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him…
38Two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left…
50And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
1 Corinthians 15
12But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
These views are quite incompatible and one is obviously wrong, and it is
not the The Word of God who can not lie!
