Utterly smug pedantic nonsense.

You have charactarized me as a:

wierdo,
trouble maker,
“manifesto writer”
someone who wants to bomb churches
someone who wants to kill Protestants.

That is grave libel.
Agreed.

When I read HR’s statement that you should “stop being proud, and go tell a priest that you hate Protestants so bad that you are ready to kill someone” I 'bout fell out of my chair.

Bizzare.

Peace in Christ,
DustinsDad

Well, that’s what happens when the forum administrator allows the sickness to continue for 180 posts with 2,179 views. All I did was ask a simple question! This is supposed to be a Catholic Answers Forum!

Richard

Curiously, who posted # 182?

If I seem to thrive on contention, I am clearly not alone.

What exactly is meant by “What” as in "that’s what happens when the forum administrator allows the sickness to continue for 180 posts with 2,179 views. "

It was all honkey dorey as the discussion - which you participated in with aplomb - went along without major challenge to your thinking.

Now sickness may be added to:

wierdo,
trouble maker,
“manifesto writer”
someone who wants to bomb churches
someone who wants to kill Protestants.

Keep it up - it is most telling.

…so are you satisfied that the Tridentine Mass is of the RCC…it cannot be Episcopal as there is not a valid priesthood…😊

Yes, for sure it’s Roman Catholic. They are going to celebrate their 18th Anniversary of the Traditional Latin Mass on September 16th. We have been at one of their High Masses, and they are excellent.

I don’t know? We have teenagers in and out of the house all day during summer vacation. Plus, they stay up all hours of the night. Maybe, it was my wife?

I’ll politely request again that you not persist in spreading false teachings as being “Catholic.” You have been misinformed. Anglo-Catholic is not Roman Catholic.

“The original Anglican Ordinal, which deleted any reference to the central priestly function, the offering of the sacrifice of the Mass, were the grounds for the declaration of Pope Leo XIII that the Anglican Church did not have valid orders, and thus did not have the Catholic sacraments. The large Evangelical party in the Anglican church has continued since the Oxford Movements’s inception to emphasise what it sees as the essentially Protestant nature of the Anglican church. Catholic doctrines are reduced to private opinion rather than being official doctrines of the Anglican Church, unlike in the Roman Catholic Church where they are official, bindingly taught by apostolic authority and tradition. Considerations of this kind led the Oxford Movement’s intellectual leader, Newman, to convert to the Roman Catholic Church, as many other Anglo-Catholics have done since.” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Catholicism

There are many on-line sources you may research for a clearer understanding in your search for the truth. I sincerely hope you find it; however, you seem to want to persist in error and tell everyone else who offers to guide you that they are the ones with a problem. Please don’t rely on the secular media as your source of Catholic knowledge. They are no better than Rosie O’Donnell or the other ladies on the View.

I would caution you to guard against the “wolves in sheeps clothing,” i.e. those who profess to be Catholic and would mislead you into further error - even on this site. I would suggest that you read the Baltimore Catechism. I would also recommend the book , “Iota Unum.” Read some reviews of the book at Amazon.

One last suggestion I would make is to find a Catholic parish in your diocese that performs Adoration (or Exposition) of the Blessed Sacrament and spend as much time there in quite prayer and reflection as you are able.

My prayers are with you.

Dominus vobiscum,

-Michael

You are not supposed to be doing that, and you know it! The next step is to nail those pictures to a tree for target practice, then the manifesto, then shoot up a church, then the headlines on network news.

The Christian faith is not monolithic. It’s not cut and dried where everyone believes the same thing. We are called differently: (Eph. 4:11,12) I can understand your fear about the authenticity of the Charismatic Renewal. Many elements are practiced by the Protestants, which of course, you seem to hate with a passion. Some Protestants, like my self, share the Sacraments with you, at least in outward form. Are you to reject these things because Protestants share them? Hardly! We are to rejoice because we have so much in common in Christ. We are after all, brothers and sisters in Christ, even if we disagree about a few things that are theological in nature.

Don’t bother to quote church documents on issues, but suffice it to say that we are to rejoice in the common element, we have in Christ. The fact that we don’t share everything is a source of prayer for an ultimate reconciliation in Christ as we join in His prayer, “may they all be one.”

Richard
The Christian faith isn’t cut and dried?? Where did you get that from? What isn’t cut and dried about it? The Orthodox believe it to be pretty cut and dried and the official position of the Catholic Church is that it is pretty cut and dried. The only people who really seem to believe that it isn’t cut and dried are members of the various protestant communities who by the way are all over the map with what they believe and those Catholics influenced by their ideas. Note, communities, ** not **churches as the Holy Father has recently re-emphasized.

The Church has for centuries, heck since it’s inception, been plagued by heresies and schisms, most of which, I feel anyway, were caused by the influence of Satan. What better way to destroy the faith than by casting doubt on what it is and urging us into accepting anything and everything as long as it bears the proper label, for lack of a better word.

If you look at many of the movements and groups floating around today they are virtually identical to heresies that were earlier condemned by the Church. They’ve been re-tooled, modernized a little but still are basically heresies.

No my friend, Christianity is pretty much cut and dried. Sorry but it is.

In spite of a lot of posts that were written by fellow Charismatics during bible studies and also family members while I was away salmon fishing on the Sacramento River, I will try to answer what ever questions or comments that have been added to this thread.

Seeing how you narrowed down to a narrow slit, lets focus on your church and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and Catholic Healing Masses. Which of course, share my opinions and beliefs as a Protestant. The Bishop will be at our Healing Mass, come September.

This is way off topic again.

Richard it might be nice to know to whom we are speaking. The internet might be obscure but at the very least we expect to know the person or persons in the conversation.

Hi Kathleen,

I always enjoy talking to you. I never log out of this Catholic Answers Forum, and anyone who visits this house, usually they are Charismatics, are welcome to use my computer. This forum has been the work of God, and has ministered the word of God to many of us thirsty souls. If the forum administrators wants me to log out and require logging in with a secret password, I will comply.

I am always logged on, just so I don’t have to keep logging on every time. I get a ton of email notifications from this forum, and need to be constantly logged on.

I guess that’s how you racked up 157 posts in roughly three weeks. At the least, it would be polite for someone who chooses to use your account to sign their posts with their own name. Even better would be for them to register their own account/screen name to eliminate any confusion.

I wonder if I’ve done that,:hmmm: My real name is Robert, my screan is Obadiah. Any question?

Do people call you, **** instead of Robert?
My baptism name is obadiah, my birth name is Robert.
At Church everybody knows me as Obadiah, with the officials, I’m known as Robert…I guess I’m finally acknowledgeing my scizoid mentality.😃 :extrahappy: :dancing: :crying: :bounce:  :banghead: :bigyikes:

Ah very good then. It must have been one of the teenagers on summer break that engaged in such rabid ad hominem attack. Do see to it they don’t do such things against the others here - it is just a mean and nasty unwarranted thing to do with those who happen to disagree with their host.

It wont happen again, Peace be with you.

We have four adults that live in our home, three children and many many visitors. My computer is also always on yet none of them ever use my screen name on the sites I use. If they are interested they use their own. If there is a rude or unwarranted remark is in unfortunately mine:o . If something I say is wrong it is me:o . But then the people on the forum know whom to blame or praise.😉 This is just a common courtesy as far as I am concerned. So thank you in advance for letting us know who we are talking tooooooo.
