I am not against people wanted to have wine, i am not against people wanted to do the exercise of Yoga.

I personally, want nothing to do with anything related to New Age. I use to drink wine occasionally but when i got pregnant, i ditched that and since that i nursed for 4 years, i didn’t touch it either. Now that i am clean from this alcohol, i want nothing to do with it either. Except when i go to mass.

Anyway, i think if you are willing to have an open mind, you can make a decision to pray and ask for guidance, it would be far much easier. It is funny that people think by trying to fix me, that everything will be resolved. God is God, the truth is the truth, I might not have problem. What about that i am right, do you want to take your chances. Just pray, please pray and ask for being shown your wrong doing, then let go and thanks God.

All the best!

You aren’t against people drinking - you just think alcohol is something so awful, so dirty, that you had to ‘clean’ yourself from by not drinking at all. Even though there is no evidence that you ever drank improperly - or were ever at any risk of becoming alcoholic.

What would you say about someone who has perfectly clean dishes in their cupboard but insists on washing them a second time before using them? Is such behaviour normal or healthy? Or helpful to that person or anyone else?

Those bad seeds, you can get them from books, new age modality, from people, etc…
Those “bad seeds” exist everywhere, and if we really wanted to avoid them, we would not be able to exist.

Example: How many people do you know eat Chinese food? Well, there are “bad seeds” in that Chinese food. How? Simple. Using Wu Xing (Five Element) theory, you can link the flavor balance in Chinese food (or any developed cuisine in a Western nation) to the Five Buddhas.

The Truth exists everywhere, though people see and describe it in different ways. This is well know to the Catholic Church. Jesuits would visit new lands, and learn about the religions of these lands, to see if God’s handwriting was present in these religions. If the Jesuits can look for God’s handwriting in these cultures, why can’t we?

Many cultures are older than ours, especially when compared with the U.S., which is in its infancy compared to those cultures. The exercise routines, breathing exercises, martial arts, etc. of many other cultures are way more advanced than in the western world, especially the “new” world. That doesn’t mean we have to convert to their religion if we learn them, anymore than we have to convert to Buddhism when eating sweet and sour chicken.

In my case, I don’t see religion and evil forces in all of this, which is why it doesn’t affect me at all, or a great many other people. It’s like some of those no-touch martial arts or voodoo; only those susceptible to believing in them are actually affected by them.

New age, is like walking in a field with mine, you can step on it.
And what happend if you do? What exactly is the danger?
Bad philosophy? Error in who we think Jesus is? God is? We are?
Error in thinking that offends God?

References have been made to the document Jesus Christ The Bearer of the Water of Life. It asks a few discerning questions regarding how we view things so that we can make intelligent informed decisions about what we do and why we are doing it.

The following questions may be the easiest key to evaluating some of the central elements of New Age thought and practice from a Christian standpoint. “New Age” refers to the ideas which circulate about God, the human being and the world, the people with whom Christians may have conversations on religious matters, the publicity material for meditation groups, therapies and the like, explicit statements on religion and so on. Some of these questions applied to people and ideas not explicitly labelled New Age would reveal further unnamed or unacknowledged links with the whole New Age atmosphere.
  • Is God a being with whom we have a relationship or something to be used or a force to be harnessed?
  • Is there just one Jesus Christ, or are there thousands of Christs?
  • The human being: is there one universal being or are there many individuals?
  • Do we save ourselves or is salvation a free gift from God?
  • Do we invent truth or do we embrace it?
  • Prayer and meditation: are we talking to ourselves or to God?
  • Are we tempted to deny sin or do we accept that there is such a thing?
  • Are we encouraged to reject or accept suffering and death?
  • Is social commitment something shirked or positively sought after?
  • Is our future in the stars or do we help to construct it?

If i don’t like alcohol, it doesn’t stop others from liking it. I need to respect this. I love the experience of not having desire for alcohol. I just enjoy this. When i was a younger adult, i never drink but as i became older, i started to just accept the wine after a meal and then i found myself liking it in the evening too. Once, my body was cleanse from it, i had great gratitude and decided not to touch again. I just don’t like it and i love the feeling of it.

Of course and you are so right. The one i am talking about is let’s say about this sad drug they created, that when a poor soul try it once, they become the slave of it immediately.

New Age is very dangerous. We need to be exposed to temptation etc… but there are some of them where the bible warn us and we need to have enough respect to trust this warning.

Blessings to you!

I am curious as to what you believe to be considered “New Age.”

I am not into talking about this, if anything i would like to forget everything that i once got into and believed. I still struggle with this and i had to turn to prayer all the time. I only share here in the hope to help out. My only point is for any of you that support yoga or any new age judged not armful, to at least pray, just pray and ask to be shown your wrong doing.

If you want, i can say that perhaps the goal (Main to steal you from the Church and the teaching of Jesus) is to teach you about self empowerment, working with element of nature, ascension or enlightenment, be the master of your life, miracle healing, empowerment of your body to host your spirit, manifesting, self healing, using your six sense. No need to say that this kill “Humility”, “Loyalty to God, you making yourself equal to God”, "Kill also “charity” (one of the reason of me starting to question many aspect, because i noticed that people would charge ridiculous price representing how much they are worth, thinking that it is the client duty to manifest). Since, that some promote peace on earth, love and kindness, you will think that this is armless. Yoga promote self empowerment and yes peace, love and kindness but again, making you a person equal to God (Adam and Eve, committed this sin of pride of wanted to know the secret of God). If you need to exercise, do so, if you need to take deep breath, do so, but stick to this only. Again, speaking for me, i want nothing to do with this ever. I know better. I need God, i am nothing without him, i finally understand this. New age teach you to be independent of God. Something, in me tell me that we need to do God’s will, learn and develop the virtue, produce fruits and worship him with the Catholic church. If God wants us to teach other things he will but right now, we are to learn to serve him and others. New Age, doesn’t respect God’s will.

i had to work quite hard to be able to have these answers from God (No wonder, with all the great offense that i have done to him and guiding other souls to the wrong path), like i was tested and i have to show that i truly wanted to repent.

Anyway, don’t under estimate it.

p.s. New age, isn’t really NEW, it has always existed. If you read the story of the church, you will see that in the time of Saint Francis, there were strong movement of pagan etc…a community of Catharism were formed " en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharism ". They didn’t seem to be doing anything wrong but many followers of the Catholic church, left their faith to go with them instead.

I would like to share this.

I have many friends that are still involved in new age, sadly i haven’t managed either to get them to pray and ask God to show them their wrong doing. So i am doing this at time and i do fasting too at time.

Now, here on this board, i posted many replies, and you are all Catholic but none of you that support Yoga, gave me the impression that you were going to give me the benefit of doubt and start praying God immediately on this issue. This isn’t a big deal to do.

Now this, prove how captivated you are to be convinced that you are on the right path and i am the one with problem.

Noah was laughed also when he built his boat. Probably thinking he was over reacting and simply crazy. I bet while he was doing this, if some of the souls would have start to pray God, they would have been saved, because God is merciful before being a judge.

I don’t know you but i love you anyway, and if anything, i pray for you!

You can always pray for them; you cannot get them to pray for themselves, but you can always pray for them. The people I live with, for example; they will never pray. They are not only atheists, but mean atheists. I always pray for them, and of late, they have been a little less mean. Prayer works!!! Besides, what is wrong to you, is not necessarily wrong to all others.
We are not all Catholic. (I am working on it!!) Prayer is not limited to Catholics. Heck, it’s not limited to Christians and that’s okay, too. Give us some benefit of doubt we may have some knowledge on the other side of the subject, as well, that’s all…
So if New Age is a problem for you, then I am glad you are now past it. And I am also glad that you care about others’ well being. I don’t think as many underestimate it as much as you think, but I could be wrong. And you are right; New Age isn’t really new. It is considered ‘new age-y’ to receive acupuncture for one’s health, as it is part of holistic health, which is, in turn, considered “new age-y”, yet it has been around for thousands of years. God is leading me through the Christian faith, nor do I take it for granted; I’ve no worries regarding using yoga or acupuncture for my back. Neither will take me away from God. Thank you for looking out for us. I shall pray for you as well.

They are all Catholic also but like i was, no longer believe in the Bible or the Catholic faith. They believe in Mother Mary, Jesus, God and Holy Trinity. Their new bible is the course of Miracle that apparently was channeled with Jesus, i never managed to read that book, thanks goodness someone was protecting me.

Of course, you cannot make any one pray but if they would, i wouldn’t have to pray so much for them, lol… Of course i back up and honor their decision but i haven’t give up.

Blessings to you!

Sounds to me like another Kennedy division, either all “for” or all “against” situation.

This is just my spiritual “gut” feeling, but there are so many kinds of exorcises, I’m picking another one, the best one of all, and beats everyone else’s choice…golf.

Here is someone else’s idea about the matter, and it is on a sour note I leave you.

You may know this since you were associated with Hinduism but the dif positions in yogo are the different poses by the Hindu gods. The Hindu gods are demons. and to top all that off, there are studies out now that tell you how unhealthy yoga is for you

Or they are simply made up…in which case people just assigned positions to these so-called gods, and thus have nothing to do with religion.
and to top all that off, there are studies out now that tell you how unhealthy yoga is for
You’ll find that if there is a study that tells you something is good, there is another study that tells you it is bad.

Some of this is not necessarily bad; people just get carried away with it. Example: “Self-empowerment.” I don’t use that phrase, but rather “self-betterment.” There is nothing wrong with making oneself better through exercise, so that they may defend themselves and others, carry out God’s work, or for clarity of thought. The warriors of the Old Testament did not become great warriors simply by sitting around and praying all day; they had to get up and practice their art.

The “sixth sense” is also greatly misused. People associate it with, say, levitating, moving objects, mind control, etc. I don’t. But I believe that the modern and unnatural state has caused man to lose a great deal of the natural perception that he was born with. This can readily be demonstrated by the much heightened awareness of primitive tribes in their environment relative to modern man in his environment.

In fact, this loss of awareness is what leads many people off the correct path. If one jumps into something without thought, chances are they will be lead astray. Those that observe and interpret what is going on around them will not.

Your second link is a “Page not found…” But I know to what you are referring. And some people shouldn’t do Yoga, as in postioning and stretching of the body, just as some people should check with their doctor before starting any exercise program. Not all Yoga positions are wise for everyone. Do not ask me do to the downward dog. I would pass out; also, pretty much anything inverted. I’d pass out some more. But I love the corpse position. Easy as pie…
Are Hindu gods demons?

Dear WarriorMonk, I am not into argument about New Age but i feel now that i have done what i could and i will leave the rest to you.

Blessings and love!
