Eichen:
I had converted to Islam because of clarity.
I became a believer because I met the Living Christ and He invited me into a relationship with Him out of His supreme overflowing love. Not by my merits, but because He chose it. He let the scales fall from my eyes, so I could see, where I was blind before. He softened my heart so I could truly love. Every action now became of infinite importance and Holy Love became the measurement of everything to come.
The purpose of life is clear: worship.
Amen… worship and love and to be loved. The greatest worship we can offer God is to accept His Love and live according to its principles so we live a true and fulfilling life here and in eternity. Again, He wants our hearts and our trust, not our blind submission.
The two possible destinations are clear: heaven or hell. Most actions are clear. That is, they draw one closer to God or take one away. Based on an actions benefit or damage it is judged as Required, Permissible, Left to preference, Discouraged, or Prohibited. This is opposed to the western (formerly Christian) world that has lost its Natural Law moorings.
Two possible destinations are clear. yes: heaven or hell. Yes. However our sins cause us to be seperated from God. Therefore He has, in His goodness given us the supreme Lamb, the remedy, Christ. He was the only one that could atone infinitely and for all mankind for all times: The Old Testament made it clear already: “there is no atonement without blood”. (that means the sacrifice of a pure male on the behalf of the people) That means that the Muslims supplecation for forgiveness is not sufficient although its good. The wages for sin is death. We have been given one mediator that could brigde the gap between sinful mankind and God. That bridge is Jesus of Nazareth, who bore the sins of all up on the Cross, as also the Old Testament prophets said He would. ( I will give you these prophesies if you wish)
Catholicism, for example, tells us that a man and woman cannot enjoy themselves (within the bonds of marriage), if they you used prophylaxis. In fact, this can be a mortal sin. However, homosexuality, which is disordered and unnatural is an issue of debate.
Yes, we take discussions rather than stoning and hanging of homosexuals. Active homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible… but I guess you never read the Bible. We as Church look also at the evidence of science and natural law when we speak of homosexuality and the practices of sexuality.
In Islam its allowed for a man to marry a 9 year old (Aisha, according to the sunna) and for a man to have severel wives (which is degrading to say the least) and its written in your sacred texts that a woman has to come to her husbands bed even if she stands at the stove, and she is not allowed to say no. So, I think you have your own hands full with your own problems.
Catholicism teaches against contraception because we believe it degrades the sexual act into a mere act of pleasure and use of the other persons body. take the element of creation and soul away and you have an act of use that is always taken for granted.
The Koran says: “Kill the man who changes his religion”. In the west we have democracy and human rights and open dialog based on the Christian tradition. Here people may choose sin, and that grieves us all. But in Islam, humans, who are by nature also driven by their passions,
when they fall into sin, are not allowed to exist in the religious society… they are killed or outcast, killed by gossip… which mean muslims survive in their own cultures by means of hypocrisy and lying and deceit. That is my experience and I am sorry for them…
Salaam and Peace.
