That would be a bit silly if He did, since no one knew what Islam was at that time, and no one did until the 600’s AD. He did, however, warn of false prophets:Quite interesting chain of threads. Jesus never said that Islam is false. It is a derived belief. Jesus warned his friends against false prophets. But Jesus never said that Muhammad will be false.
There’s a major problem in your argument in that this is not the only way a prophet is seen to be from God. In quoting one passage from Deuteronomy and presenting this as your main argument, you’re attempting to tell us that any prophet that meets this standard should be automatically accepted. Also according to Moses (Deut 18:21-22):
21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD ?” 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
According to that verse, everything that Muhammad said came true, in his life time and very soon afterwards. So Muhammad was a true prophet of God.
And it is most certainly not true that all of Mohammad’s prophecies came true. One example (indeed, we need only one):…An angel physically attacks Mohammad, barks orders, terrifies him (all of which no angel has ever done), and gives him a revelation that, over time, becomes the Koran. What does this revelation teach?
All of these contradict the Gospels specifically and the New Testament in general. This presents several problems
- Christ is not divine (S. 5:116)
- Christ was not crucified, let alone died on the cross or was resurrected (S. 4:157)
- The Trinity is a lie (S. 5:73)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. [John 1:1-3, 14]
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. [Galatians 1:6-8]
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. [2 Corinthians 11:13-14]
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. [2 John 1:7]…
So that man might become God - Saint Athanasius of Alexandriawhy did God become man?

I did.So that man might become God - Saint Athanasius of Alexandria
I can’t believe you Catholics and Orthodox didn’t complete the quote… jeez.

…As Saint Athanasius said, God became man so that man may become God - not by nature but by imitation…
Jesus never said a true prophet would appear in the last days. Rather, He said false prophets would arise who would deceive, if possible, the very elect. So Muhammad was just another ,murder. Do we believe a murder or a man of God Our Lord Jesus Chrust.**Bill had started the thread : ISLAM is False, Mulhammad is false **

Who said Judaism wasn’t false?why is Judaism not false for that same reason ?
** Bill Pick, Jesus was also a prophet of God. He warned his friends to be careful of the false prophets. He never said that true prophets will not come. How can Jesus say that true prophets will not come?. He warned his friends about the false prophets / messengers. So christians should have been careful about the false messengers. that was enough.Jesus never said a true prophet would appear in the last days. Rather, He said false prophets would arise who would deceive, if possible, the very elect. So Muhammad was just another ,murder. Do we believe a murder or a man of God Our Lord Jesus Chrust.
…did you just pull a “can’t prove a negative”?Bill Pick, Jesus was also a prophet of God. He warned his friends to be careful of the false prophets. He never said that true prophets will not come.
How could a religion be true at one point in time and then suddenly become false…you can label the Jews as unbelievers (by rejecting Christ) but their religion didn’t change its major theological understandings since first established by God through Moses…Who said Judaism wasn’t false?

Bingo. How could a religion be true at one point in time and then suddenly become false…you can label the Jews as unbelievers (by rejecting Christ)…
Ah yes, the parakletos argument. Easily destroyed with one passage of scripture:In fact he said that his mission was not fully accomplished. He had many things to say but he could not say them. He told about some one to come after him, the like of him, i.e. another Comforter. Jesus was a Comforter. He said ,“God will give you another Comforter.” Another means one more like Jesus.
**B W, please say that Jesus was not a prophet of God. Will you say that?…did you just pull a “can’t prove a negative”?
Planten, I think in my short time knowing you on this forum, you have used every logical fallacy known to man. :hypno:
I believe that you always avoid the arguments people present and go off on your own tangents in a desperate attempt to not respond to anything presented before you, just as you’ve done here.B W, please say that Jesus was not a prophet of God. Will you say that?
Also say That Jesus said, “no more true prophet will come.”
I hope you believe the same things that I said. And you did not deny anything.
** B W, you please respond to my present post. then present your old problems to me one by one only i.e. one point at a time. i will remain close to your words and will try to reply as well as I could. Thanks.I believe that you always avoid the arguments people present and go off on your own tangents in a desperate attempt to not respond to anything presented before you, just as you’ve done here.
I gave two or three long posts on the first page discussing why Christians don’t believe Islam is a true religion. I did it for the benefit of Muslims. I expected Muslims to respond. Thus far, I’ve had non sequitors and a little bit of a “can’t prove a negative,” which I didn’t expect. I’m amazed you didn’t simply try to claim my posts were too long and therefore that somehow meant you couldn’t respond at all.
No. That is not how discussion works. You do not just make up your own points in the middle and completely disregard the arguments presented by the other person, especially when they’ve laid it out in detail for you to understand. Furthermore, you do not demand people respond to those points before you engage in the dialogue started. Not only is that disrespectful to the person attempting to engage in dialogue, but that is once again the non sequitor fallacy.B W, you please respond to my present post. then present your old problems to me one by one only i.e. one point at a time.
