How’d this thread about Islam become one about the LDS?

I suppose that they’re both man-made religions, believing in polygamy and a great ‘apostasy’ of the Church requiring another prophet (Prophet +).

That was the sin of Adam. The Devil tempted him into becoming God!
Nay, that was the word of God:

Genesis 3:

22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever

No. Genesis has the Devil tempting Adam to become like God. There’s nothing there about ‘the Word’ (by which I assume you’re making an oblique attack on Jesus; if only you’d read about ‘the Word’ being there ‘in the beginning’ - that is, before Adam)

Mormons have the same temptation.

If you’d read your bible a lot younger you’d have known that this is a classic mistake of man.

It happens all the time when people (with pride) presume that through their own efforts/knowledge that they can challenge God.

Wasnt this thread about asking about books?
There’s a anti-Catholic web-site called CARM which offers many of the same arguments against Mormonism as they do against Islam; you just have to change a few words here and there.

You are turning a blind eye to the truth, or are incapable of understanding plain English. Impossible to debate with someone like that.

And against Catholicism. Apparently you deserve it, otherwise you wouldn’t talk like that. 😃

How many mistakes did you want to fit into that post of yours?

Doh! :doh2: I noted that they were anti-Catholic. Making ironic your previous comments about understanding English.

Next, they don’t make the same arguments against Catholicism as they do against Mormons, JWs and Moslems.

Lastly, I’m not Catholic!

Plain English is what you quoted. Like you’re strange idea on Maths (99%=100%) you now read into the quote YOU GAVE a phrase that’s not there “The Word”.

Here’s what you cited.

Genesis 3:

22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever

No where is there the word ‘word’, or the phrase ‘the word’. And that’s plain English. Ah irony! :extrahappy:

Lastly, I’m not Catholic!
That explains a lot. Thanks for the reminder.

Actually to them there isn’t much difference between Catholic and Orthodox. They are all birds of a feather to them. The reason why they are not as overly anti-Orthodox as they are anti-Catholic is because the Catholic Church is the bigger and more influential of the two. Orthodox is small fry by comparison. Sorry if that burst your bubble! 😃

Muslims do not have any problem at all accepting that the following Biblical verse is indeed a prophecy which has been fulfilled.

"And this [is] the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand [went] a fiery law for them." … Deuteronomy 33:1

If you look closely at the wording of this verse, you will see that it bears the chronological succession of the prophets of God, like the rising sun.
Came: the first appearance of daylight in the morning; dawn.
Rose up: the arrival of the sun in the morning.
Shined forth: Mid-day sun which lights up the Earth from East to West. Islam has indeed come to shine all over the earth as the mid-day sun.

Dear Hamba2an,

Regardless of what Montalban has refuted you, If you do not believe in the bible, then forget about using it to defend your case. It is better and make more sense if you use our bible to critique us. We are sure that we are ready to give you explanations.

One more thing, and it is no offense. I my languange, Hamba2an can be written as Hamba-Hambahan. This writing has a connotation of “pretending to be a hamba”. Hamba means servant. I am 100% sure that you would like to express yourself as a servant of God (Allah). That is very nice expression of any human being, since we are all the servant (hamba) of Allah. But, your expression of Hamba2an could incidentally means “pretending to be a servant of Allah”. I am sure you do not mean this.

You are as ignorant of Mormonism as you are of Catholicism. Catholics do pray to Mary; and Mormons don’t believe that they “become gods of their own universe when they die”.

According to a person named Zerinus

The Bible teaches that we become gods. Early Christians teach that we become gods. I have already discussed that in these posts:

According to Zerinus that if all 6 billion of the whole human population in the world converted to LDS, then there would be 6 billion Gods plus One? Please correct me if I am wrong. I am lost here:confused:

That explains a lot.
I hope so
Thanks for the reminder.
No problemo

They are all birds of a feather to them. The reason why they are not as overly anti-Orthodox as they are anti-Catholic is because the Catholic Church is the bigger and more influential of the two.
Really? Where is their measure of influence? Please cite this.
Orthodox is small fry by comparison. Sorry if that burst your bubble!
Oh, I’m devastated:crying:
I’m quite happy to be closer to Catholicism than you. And you seem to be happy to be a lot closer to Islam than I.

And they all become gods of their own universes… which brings me back to Genesis and the sin of pride of Adam.

Did you read the blog posts? I doubt it, otherwise you wouldn’t talk like that.

That is just common knowledge. If the Protestant/Evangelicals believed that Orthodoxy is a genuine continuation of early Christianity, they wouldn’t be Protestants; they would be Orthodox.
Really? Where is their measure of influence? Please cite this.
They greatly outnumber the Orthodox in the US for example, and they have a much greater influence in the religious, cultural, and political affairs of the country.
Oh, I’m devastated:crying:
I dare say you are! 😃
I’m quite happy to be closer to Catholicism than you. And you seem to be happy to be a lot closer to Islam than I.
I am quite happy to be closer to early Christianity and the Bible than either you, the Catholics, or the Protestants are.
