It seems no one takes the UN seriously seeing as how often their strongly worded letters and resolutions are ignored by countries.

UN peacekeepers in UN uniforms have committed numerous war crimes, including rape, so it is kinda of laughable for them to condemn anything.
The Un has two primary purposes
  1. To milk as much money as possible from the US
  2. To condemn Israel as often as possible.

Hundreds of illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian land over the past 50 years backed up by brute force. The heartless expulsion of thousands of Palastinians from their lands into an open air concentration camp (Gaza) The denial of water to thousands, denial of facilities, eternal embargos on medical necessities, Marshall law, bombing civilians as a form of social control, whole sale mass slaughter of innocents and children?

These are the conditions which spawned Hamas.
Blaming ineffective rockets for the deliberate slaughter of little children is like blaming the victim of a rape for resisting.

No true Christian would give Israel solace at this moment.
I have 2 questions for you:
  1. Does Hamas use children and children as human shields for their rockets and rocket launchers?
  2. Is there a difference between a) Israel intentionally targeting little children and b) Israel targeting sites used to store / launch weapons Hamas is using to target Israeli civilians (which Hamas “protects” by keeping women and children near them)?

Its been repetitively up to Hamas to cease fire. They speak in riddles, first they want to blame Israel and play the moral media card, then they continue to fire during two cease fires. They don’t want to cease fire without conditions which appears to Hamas and more importantly the Arab world as a victory. They can’t stand another defeat.

Its not about winning for Hamas and saving face, which at the moment is all they care about, its about coming to a two state solution and peace for everyone which results in a extended period of peace in Israel. Not for 6-months till Hamas regroups and builds another 23+ tunnel complex to launch hit and run attacks of terrorism out of. Much to the dismay of many.

Israels prime minister stated hes not stopping till he feels Israel will see a extended period of peace. Perhaps with international pressure he may recant. But what would you do if you had to deal with Hamas blatant and violent aggression’s of terrorism?

GaryTaylor; its about coming to a two state solutionQUOTE:
Gary , please help me with this one.My history knlwledge is very limited particularly in ME.
The State of Palestine , Palestine , and the fact that Hamas has taken over indefinitely make things even less clear to me.
I also found this article ,
palestineun.org
To what extent can we refer to the state of Palestine when Hamas is leading this?
My question is genuine and my lack of understanding too( that’s obvious…)
Thanks !

Gary , there is this issue with the name Palestine and State of Palestine in relation to UN 2012 that I fail to grasp. Thanks again. Maybe I should be charged for history lessons…

Here’s a quick history on this situation. Imho the two state solution embraces moderate minded men and on both sides which promotes democracy, self-determination, and pragmatism. This simple truth is Hamas is a extreme radical group who has a state under their control no different than would have happened in Egypt had the general there not interceded. I don’t see where a two state proposition is in their interest. The people of Palestine are tired and war weary, they want peace and are caught in the middle of all this unable to rid themselves of Hamas. The real enemy of Palestine is Hamas not Israel as I see it. Israel also wants peace also.

Many years ago Golda Meir engaged in hyperbolic overgeneralization when she said that peace will come “when Palestinians love their children more than they hate Israel.” Most Palestinians love their children. Many do hate Israel, because they have been taught to hate for generations. But more and more of them are coming to realize that the real enemy is not Israel, which left the Gaza Strip in 2005 and offered to leave most of the West Bank in 2000, 2001 and 2007. The real enemies of the Palestinians are those Hamas leaders who do in fact love Palestinian children less than they hate Israel. That’s why they are prepared to use these children as human sacrifices in their efforts to destroy the nation state of the Jewish people.

Palestinians constitute 30% of Israel’s population. Can one imagine this happening in a Palestinian state?

Yes, this is the problem, i.e., Hamas (a terrorist organization), not Israel.

Chistians dont support baby murderers, Israel are baby murderers. This is quite clear.

Your neighborhood civic league pays you a visit and informs you that your next door neighbor does not think you have a right to exist and then they ask you to not defend yourself and to negotiate a peace plan with that neighbor that does not think you have the right to exist.

All the while he throwing sticks of dynamite in your window but you are not allowed to fight back because he’s standing in his kids nursery

Given how tiny and densely populated Gaza is, and given that no evidence in support of this assertion has surfaced, I would say the answer to this is no.

For all intents and purposes, Israel is targeting children. They know the characteristics of Gaza that I mentioned above. They know the likelihood is extremely high that when they lob shells at urban buildings, that they are going to hit a large number of civilians. Knowing these things beforehand and shelling such areas nevertheless, constitutes a war crime.

Also, Hamas is guilty of a war crime by its indiscriminate lobbing of rockets into Israel, despite the ineffectiveness of this tactic. It’s really surprising they don’t do more damage than they do.

Israel is losing big time here.

If Hamas is hiding their weapons amongst civilians, then they are the ones guilty of war crimes here.

It’s really very simple. If Hamas wasn’t firing rockets into Israel, then this would have never happened. You don’t see Israel doing this to Egypt or Jordan do you?

Thanks so much for your time , answer and links.
I appreciate your gift for writing summaries.

The more I read the more complex the conflict becomes.

Hopefully more moderate voices will appear.
Thanks again !

Oh, and Israel is losing nothing here. The fact that they haven’t turned the Gaza into glass by now show remarkable restraint. No other country would put up with what Israel puts up with, including the US.

Gnjsdad , what would you consider assertive and effective steps for the purpose of negociating peace on both sides.?

What do you want to see happen ?

Thanks.

Of course not. which is why none of us support Hamas using those poor innocent children for human shields. Thats why Hamas has to go back to Iran or where-ever they came from, the lake of fire.

You don’t see how you created a double standard and then placed yourself directly in it, its very telling to all reading here? Its OK you favor Hamas, not very Christian, but I won’t pass judgement on you.

BTW which congregation in Christianity do you follow, perhaps its indicative of your bias thinking on Israel?

I don’t know anyone who hates the people of Palestine. In fact both Jewish and Palestinian family women have been constantly blogging that they do not hate each other. Hamas is a persistent issue with people attempting to live in the Holy Land and in peace. Its despicable in the Holy Land.
