Israel 'ready for escalation' of Gaza conflict

The tunnel systems, the rockets and this entire concept of warfare is well known and documented historically. The tactic isn’t at all new, and the US contended with them extensively. The way they are handled now is different, its in a extremely populated urban area with many civilians and many dedicated to the cause. While war crimes may be contingent in these search and destroy missions, they have the right to eliminate the offensive attacks by eliminating the tunnels and if civilians place themselves in the way after being informed by leaflets and other means, they easily can become collateral damage. I think its grossly minimized. But they are unacceptable heading into Jerusalem for sure, and serve no purpose but to hit and run and ambush, take prisoners, fire rockets etc. Supposedly this is wrapping up in Gaza.

Its not a war crime but the top priority of the war in Israels campaign. And within the interaction the sequence may lead to a war crime.

Using Tear Gas to clear tunnels is Standard Operating Procedure for every military in the world.

What sinks in is the usual propaganda trying to equate Israel with the Nazis.

The BBC report does not specify what type of gas the IDF used. Despite photographs and news footage, Israel won’t even acknowledge gassing the tunnels in the first place, let alone volunteer information regarding what type of gas was used.

People equate Israel with Apartheid South Africa and with Nazi Germany because the many blatant similarities beg the comparison. Look at the Warsaw Ghetto and tell me it isn’t strikingly similar to Gaza, including its tunnels. In my view, the propaganda is trying to deny this.

Oh, so Hamas shouldn’t *target *Israeli civilians because that would breed Israelis terrorists, right?

Because at least the Israelis are not *aiming *at civilians like Hamas does; Hamas places its rocket firing equipment among its own civilians, who are hit when Israel tries to destroy the equipment.

The blockade by Israel (in 2007) and Egypt (last year) is due to legitimate concerns for national security, the Warsaw Ghetto, however, was precipitated by a vicious and racist pogrom, much like the one Hamas has in store for Israel if it should ever endeavor to fulfill its goals (according to its own charter), in other words, the shoe is on the wrong foot, i.e., it is not Israel that should be likened to Nazi Germany but the racist and genocidal Hamas.

P.S. If you get rid of Hamas, you’ll get rid of a terrorist organization, if you get rid of Israel you’ll have genocide.

Hamas continues to destroy the peace of mind of Israelis with constant rockets launched daily (destroying any chance for peace in Gaza since after Israel’s departure from that region and before the blockade), and Israel, must according to the world, let it.

Whats the purpose for the tunnels into Jerusalem except tunnel attacks of various forms.

There is no evidence to support the claim that Israel is gassing people to death in the tunnels. The assertion is far-fetched. A much more seasonable, and widely practiced, technique is to use tear gas to force people out of hiding.

The news article has been updated. Netanyahu has announced that the ground offensive will continue in order to secure the safety of Israelis.

9:28 P.M. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says in a press conference that IDF forces have “destroyed thousands of terror targets,” and that after the tunnels inside the Gaza Strip are destroyed, the IDF will continue in its mission to restore security to Israel’s citizens. “All the options are on the table to restore security,” he said.

Well, then he’s an ignoramus, i.e., the crimes committed day after day by the likes of Islamic militants is far more barbarous than that which is being committed by Israel for the purposes of national security (I wish the children hadn’t died but if Hamas hadn’t launched a barrage of rockets terrorizing Israelis day after day we wouldn’t have this conflict on our hands).

I am sorry about that. But I am also sorry about the 1600 Palestinians, mostly civilians who have been killed and who knows about how many thousands have been injured? According to the reports, Israel has been killing many Palestinian children.

For which the blame lies squarely with Hamas. For it is Hamas which has sent the rockets into Israel to kill Israelis and based their attacks in civilian areas on purpose. Wake up and smell the roses, folks. Israeli is not only surrounded by hostile nations who wish to destroy it, it is also the victim of continuous terrorist attacks. What do you expect Israel to do - not defend themselves?
