By “those people” do you mean the 15 who were killed in the bombing of a UN shelter by Israel?

Isreal’s story is a bit thin. If they are worried about the tunnels (and they should be), why not seal them up from the Israel side, why go deep into Gaza for that while at the same time bombing weapon storehouses from a distance? Why not send troops to the schools that are allegedly storing weapons instead of indiscrimintetly droppong bombs on civilians? I think the tolerance of Israels actions is going to end very soon. They are making themselves look very bad.
But in this day and age its politically correct to kill trade center destroying terrorists.

also it helps that so many Christians are stuck on some misinterpretation of the bible saying isreal belongs solely to the jews.

I don’t hear anything in the media about religion=war, sad isn’t it.

Israel’s story is far worse than “a bit thin.” They’ve known all along that Hamas never kidnapped those three kids. The Israelis have openly admitted that was just a lie. It is also a known fact that Israel created Hamas in the first place! They manufactured it as a device to ensure that a Palestinian state would never exist.

We should all get used to this “thin” story, because each of us will be hearing it for the rest of our natural lives. After the Palestinians are exterminated other Arab states surrounding Israel will one by one begin lobbing rockets into Israeli territory, giving Israel a pretext to expand yet further. And, of course, everyone will believe what their teevee tells them, that Israel is “struggling to exist” against a fiendish aggressor. It’s just simply a given that this is going to happen.

I noticed this mentioned a couple times. Whats a proportion in relation here?
Maybe more Israelis need to die in order to curry favour with the world, i.e, it’s not enough that 6 million Jews were killed.

P.S. Just this week ISIS killed hundreds of Shi’ites in a deliberate massacre, i.e., Muslim violence against Muslims is actually getting worse as we speak, but people are still focused on criticizing Jews for defending themselves against Hamas.

Remarkable, and the Arab world is astonishingly silent. The UN condemned the rocketing of Israel, and insisted on support for all displaced needy. Israel recorded 2000 case’s of aid this year to Hamas, I guess to the supposed enemy? And the religious implications are dead silent, I guess the religion and world peace plan ought to be forthcoming in advance in this regard or I have to assume its not of consequence and according to all media coverage? Why are they silent on the interaction of the two? I give Isis credit on that point, full disclosure. Can’t miss the message. Can’t miss the world silence on the yearly slaughter of Christians and displacement, but the UN did what about that?

Yes it seems Israel and Egypt are tired of the insistent violence and the US can’t dismiss the point as the UN indicated today.

I question several of the “factual” statements that you affirm.

Why would you assume that’s what’s meant? How about less deaths? How about an end to the occupation? This current crisis has nothing to do with the Holocaust and you linking the two implies that those who are aginst the actions of Israel are anti-semitic. Why else would you bring that up?

I think Hamas is overtly anti-Judaism, if not anti-Semitic. I think in Europe and America, while there may be some of that, mostly the issue is Israel doesn’t lean toward secular progressivism.

Even as the IDF butchers innocent Palestinian civilians, straight-faced people still have the unmitigated audacity to condemn their victims as anti-Semites! Incredible!

I challenge anyone to refute the vile racism in this video:

palsolidarity.org/2014/07/video-israelis-in-tel-aviv-chanting-theres-no-school-tomorrow-theres-no-children-left-in-gaza-oleh

And as you watch Israelis gleefully and joyfully celebrating the murders of Palestinian children remember this, Palestinians are a Semitic people themselves, but you don’t hear them whining about anti-Semitism.

To this, Israel’s “defensive” responses have categorically been wildly disproportionate. The innocent Palestinian death toll from only this latest “Israel is merely defending itself” response is climbing north of 1,400.
Hamas intentionally launches attacks from points that will cause large civilian casualties. The obvious reason for doing so it that the can kill innocent civilians and gain sympathy from other countries by playing on their emotions at the same time. And there strategy works like a charm as this thread, and the press in general, has shown.
That depends on what I did. If, in response, I managed to blow up my enemy’s entire neighborhood, then I would be guilty of a war crime as my response lacked proportionality.
Israel attacks targets, and unlike many other countries at war, they give ample notice of attacks in the area. Naturally, it is difficult to find such information in the liberal media.
Ah, I see. If only we thought logically and rationally … like you.
At least I have a logical thought process and solution, where you like it or not. It’s much easier to talk in platitudes and offer no realistic solutions.
They are the ones destroying schools, infrastructure, mosques, shelters, and hospitals.
Your playing right into the hands of Hamas; this is EXACTLY what they want to portray to the world. Launch attacks from schools, infrastructure, mosques, shelters, and hospitals, have Israel attack those targets, then blame Israel for destroying them, and get the world to support you. Satan works in mysterious ways, doesn’t he?

Isreal’s story is a bit thin. If they are worried about the tunnels (and they should be), why not seal them up from the Israel side,
If I were Hamas, I would prefer that. The tunnels could then be opened back up, or extended from the point they weren’t sealed.

First, the bombing isn’t indiscriminate; it’s targeted. Of course, Hamas takes action so that certain areas are targeted causing damage to infrastructure and civilians. And they know that most people will only see the bombed out school, which hides the evil that Hamas is committing. Win-Win for Hamas.
I think the tolerance of Israels actions is going to end very soon. They are making themselves look very bad.
Actually, the opposite is happening. The Muslim world is getting fed up with these radicals, and it is about damn time. You can only kill so many of your own, which is exactly what Hamas is doing, before people get fed up. Even al Qaeda got to the point where they were killing too many Muslims and had to back off because of backlash of their own. Naturally, those in the West are simply clueless about most of this because they don’t have to deal with any of it. They simply talk in platitudes and offer nothing as far as solutions go.

doesn’t have to be in the media to be true. I seen more then enough in this forum let alone every anti Palestine protest I been seeing.

If I recall accurately, the truce/peace plan offered up by Egypt prior to the Israeli incursion into Gaza was not only accepted by Israel, but also by the Arab League. IOW, Hamas started this, is responsible for this, and is directly and solely responsible for the deaths of innocent Palestinians.

The refugee situation in Gaza is dire. The fortunate were able to get sanctuary, away from the worst fighting, by doubling up with family or friends. A few hundred fortunate persons were able to take refuge in the two Christian churches. However, the bulk of Palestinians were forced to the UN shelters, or even worse living conditions as those shelters overflowed.

Out of cash, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the main U.N. body in the impoverished enclave of 1.8 million Palestinians, says it can barely handle the humanitarian crisis unleashed by more than three weeks of fighting between militants and Israel.

Asked to explain the scale of the civilian suffering to an Arab news station, an UNRWA spokesman simply burst into tears.

“UNRWA is overwhelmed in Gaza. We have reached breaking point; our staff are being killed, our shelters overflowing. Where will it end … UNRWA now has 225,178 displaced in 86 shelters. But Gaza is being destroyed. So when the war is over, where will these people go?” Gunness said.

UNRWA made an urgent appeal for $187 million on Thursday to buy beds and basic supplies for those who fled and to stem the rise of diseases in shelters.

Insecticide and medicine were urgently needed for refugees in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, the U.N.'s humanitarian affairs department said, “to treat epidemics such as lice and scabies, which started to spread in shelters”.

When unable to get shelter with the UN, some families have been left with no choice but to live outdoors.

When artillery shattered their home near the Israeli border, Ibrahim Hillis, a grandfather, rushed his extended family to the city to seek shelter, but the schools were full and relatives’ houses were already packed with others displaced by the war.

So home became a patch of thin grass around a tree trunk behind this city’s central hospital, where his family rigged up sheets to block the sun. Scores of other families had done the same, food and water were scarce, and ambulances bearing the victims of new attacks screamed in day and night.

“We are living in the dirt,” said Mr. Hillis, 73. “There is no work, no money, no medical treatment, and everything is decided by those fighting, so what can we, the people, do about it?”

Pressure may soon be applied on Israel to take responsibility for Gazan refugees.

Israel soon responsible for displaced Palestinians in Gaza: U.N.

As Israel warns more Gaza neighborhoods to evacuate, a top U.N. envoy told the United Nations Security Council on Thursday that Israel would be required under international law to take responsibility for helping Palestinians civilians in any further large-scale displacements.

According to the Geneva Conventions on the conduct of war and occupations, an occupying power must “to the fullest extent of the means available to it” ensure public health, hygiene, food and medical supplies for the civilians under occupation.

“The reality of Gaza today is that no place is safe,” U.N. aid chief Valerie Amos told the U.N. Security Council. “We have all watched in horror the desperation of children, of civilians as they have come under attack.”

The UN estimates that one quarter of Gaza residents are currently displace, which would mean approximately 450,000 refugees.

Hopefully this will convince the residents that it is time for Hamas to quit firing rockets into Israel
