Never said a word, Protestants were not Christian. They disagreed with doctrines which conflicted with their own personal doctrines: Faith Alone,etc,etc,Pre-destination,etc. Yes…that is self-centered for one to claim: I am right and 1500 years of Christianity got it down wrong. End results: THOUSANDS of different denominations. Many Christians deny the existence of Hell…does that make them right and God incorrect?
Do you know what your saying, Protestants were never Christians. I disagree with some doctrines and so do some other Catholics I know, does that make us self centered? if someone disagrees with you does that make them self centered. Your are right and 1500 yrs of Chritianity got it wrong, well that includes the RCC then too.

Does not matter,Luther broke his vow of celibacy as well as the nun he married. No different when someone joins the military, one takes an oath the same day he or she is shipped out to boot camp. I speak from experience.
Yes when I signed up for the National Guard I had to go your right. How about the Popes who broke their vows, and the Priests. I do believe Luther got married after he left the Church and even if not, that doesn’t make him any worst than many others. At least he got married.

You are not disagreeing with me or any individual Catholic, here is where you are in error. Individual Catholics do not develop and ratify doctrines. That is not how Christ Church was established, precisely why Protestanism is so splintered. To disagree with the existence of Hell,Purgatory,Trinity or any other doctrine is to disagree with…GOD! Yes…self-centeredness is what it is. For instance,if you say: I do not believe, reject or deny Hell, you are making yourself the Judge of Divine Revelation and God is your student.

Oh trust me…everyone will pay his or her dues with God. At LEAST he got married? When did God state the single or celibate life is offensive to Him?

What about some of the other clergy or higher ups that had affairs and children they should of left and got married. . Yes we will all pay some day.

What does their errors have to do with celibacy and single life?

If a married person has an affair…does it negate marriage for all those being married?

Nicea, don’t you think its better for a man to marry than to have an affair and out of wedlock children. Its not a sin to get married but it is to have an affair and have children out of wedlock. So if one is going to talk about Luther who became Protestant and what he did, , its only fair to compare him to a few others in the Church at the time. He surely was no worst than many others.😉

No, if one creates a Church - LUTHER-anism, He would be better be an example.
The Anglicans do find it funny to have Henry VIII and their Reformer…
As for the Catholics who did scandals, they would not pretend to nail 95 thesis and damaging a Church Door and pointing the finger to others… These Catholics generally think themselves as sinners.

Marry to whose women whom they had affairs with?

Boy, he pointed the fingers to others. Which authority does he have?
At least the Popes felt sinners…

Well lets not put Luther down since he married a nun, when there were pope not leading virtious lives.
But Luther was a REFORMER, reformation.
Reformation means, you are bad, I know better than you, I am better than you, you are bad and I am going to reform all this.
How come, Luther ?

I hear the same thing over and over, Christ has a body of Chruches, not just one. To say the core of Protestantism is self centered, is not truth.
Of Course Protestantism is self-centered.
It is the “me” interpretation.
I think, I interpret the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit talks to ME. Me, me, and me.

Seriously, why all the hate for Martin Luther? Hate to remind you all, but Marty’s been dead for several hundred years. The Catholic Church has made great progress since then. Was he perfect? No. But, be honest. Several of people, even those in the leadership of the Catholic Church of his time were far from perfect either. I’m amazed how fast and how far off topic these threads can get.

Gee I dont know, why did Rome divide from the other 4 and why did Luther get upset, and there were protestant groups before Luther. You maybe don’t realize not all ECF agreed on everything , well some that didn’t were called herectics. Really all Bishops didn’t agree either, and not all Catholics agree on everything.
History totally distorted…
Rome divided?
Protestant before Luther?
Catholics many times do not agree on what to eat at dinner…

Amen, my goodness.

I was talking about the division of the RCC in 1054 with the other 4 Apostolic Churches and then again with the Protestant reformation. So see everyone has a different take on tradition and interpretation of the Sciptures. The Bible needs to be followed, that is the Word of God. Some men have their own agenda, so one needs to be careful who to listen to. All Christians are given the HS, but some don’t use it and some don’t listen to it, and some haven’t fed it. Why don’t you tell me what Matt 17:21 says.

21 Howbeit this akind goeth not out but by prayer and bfasting.
The Pope and the Community should be heard on interpreting the Scriptures.
It is not the “me” interpretation: 1000 persons, 1000 interpretaions…
