I don think so…some others though are giving sterling example…
Don’t blame me for your sin! of proselytizing folks. I posed several rational questions to conjure up thought rather than just a warm fuzzy in side. And by the way, what did you expect for Catholics to react with? Oh sweety pie we’re happy for you… NOT. We are deeply hurt because we feel pain from losing a brother like this. It’s really cuts my heart. I used to get boiling mad at my former Protestant bible only faith at the way they pompously taught that all non-Christians simply reject the truth and thus are bound to hell. So you don’t have a corner on the market of my irriation at this mentality. I learned the hard way. So will you guys. But now that we clearly know that you and several others along with theis poster are acting heretically openly we Catholics must defend the truth. If you knew your Catholic faith you would know this. It is our duty if we are able. I’m serious about contacting the moderator and CAF about this because if you remember they rearranged the Eastern Church thread to “fix” proselytizing there as well. I will suggest that they begin a fallen away Catholic thread. I clearly see what’s going on here now. You are like a beast preying upon the weak. And you love to point the finger on people like me for trying to speak the truth. You heart and mind is closed to the truth. There is nothing I can do for you or the OP. To use a metaphor in scripture…I guess I have to wash my feet from this place. This particular thread by unsubscribing to it…

O my Redeemer,
will that dreadful time ever come, when but few Christians shall be left who are inspired by the spirit of faith, that time when Thine anger shall be provoked and Thy protection shall be taken away from us? Have our vices and our evil lives irrevocably moved Thy justice to take vengeance, perhaps this very day, upon Thy children? O Thou, the beginning and end of our faith, we conjure Thee, in the bitterness of our contrite and humbled hearts, not to suffer the fair light of faith to be extinguished in us.
Remember Thy mercies of old, turn Thine eyes in mercy upon the vineyard planted by Thine own right hand, and watered by the sweat of the Apostles, by the precious blood of countless Martyrs and by the tears of so many sincere penitents, and made fruitful by the prayers of so many Confessors and innocent Virgins.
O divine Mediator,
look upon those zealous souls who raise their hearts to Thee
and pray ceaselessly for the maintenance of that most precious gift of Thine, the true faith. We beseech Thee, O God of justice,
to hold back the decree of our rejection, and to turn away Thine eyes from our vices and regard instead the adorable Blood
shed upon the Cross, which purchased our salvation and daily intercedes for us upon our altars. Ah, keep us safe in the true Catholic and Roman faith. Let sickness afflict us, vexations waste us, misfortunes overwhelm us! But preserve in us Thy holy faith; for if we are rich with this precious gift, we shall gladly endure every sorrow, and nothing shall ever be able to change our happiness. On the other hand, without this great treasure of faith, our unhappiness would be unspeakable and without limit!
O good Jesus, author of our faith,
preserve it untainted within us; keep us safe in the bark of Peter, faithful and obedient to his successor and Thy Vicar here on earth, that so the unity of Holy Church may be maintained, holiness fostered, the Holy See protected in freedom,
and the Church universal extended to the benefit of souls.
O Jesus, author of our faith,
humble and convert the enemies of Thy Church; grant true peace
and concord to all Christian kings and princes and to all believers;
strengthen and preserve us in Thy holy service, so that we may live in Thee and die in Thee.
O Jesus, author of our faith,
let me live for Thee and die for Thee.

Amen.

I have been watching this whole thread with some sort of amusement. Especially since “onetimeposter” ( and wow what a misnomer as far as a name goes) is obviously good at yanking every ones chain here.

But this quote about guilt got me going and is usually at the root of all this anti-Catholic talk. I have learned in life most people, including myself, have a hard time being humble. It’s difficult for us to say sorry to our spouses, children, loved ones, or even to a stranger we happen to meet. To show some true love even when we are not loved in return. So as a result we lose touch with ourselves and the Lord.

In addition, we kid ourselves into thinking this behavior and other behaviors which separates us from God is OK. So when the church tells us its wrong many get angry and refuse to obey. People do not like to be told they are wrong, they want to hear they are doing the right thing even when they are not.

The bearer of bad news is never popular, but real love is to correct when needed even if feelings are hurt. This is no different when a child is corrected by a parent. However, we as Catholics ( and all Christians) need to have this guilt and humility because without it how would we ever live a decent life without it. What a selfish world it has become with all this individualism. I too will plead guilty of this at times also.

Now the guilt can be troublesome and hurtful, but the key is this. We are all sinners and need to remember the Lord wants to forgive us. He is there with open arms ready to forgive us.All we must do is pick up our crosses, be truly sorry, and hope the grace of God give us the strength to avoid this sin again.

So when we hear from people who reject the church, just show some love and pray that the Holy Spirit works within them to return someday. This is all we can do along with setting a good example for them.

You too onetimeposter I will pray for you whether you want me to or not! Your rejection of my prayer will not influence me at all.

Peace be with you onetime.🙂

I have to admit. My heart is cut by this. And you are right. We should just simply pray for those that fall away. If I’ve come across uncharitably, I’m sorry, it was not my intension.

Pax Christi tecum

Friend you have just shown how a good Catholic should react. Do not be so hard on yourself, we all make mistakes. Your heart is in the right place. Sometimes we just need to fight the urge to fight back uncharitably, even if we are correct.

History should teach us that force never works only love and charity does. The history of our own church has shown this. All this does is give fodder to those who are using the evil one to turn people away from the true church. While good examples and works will let people open up their hearts so they may join us.

I can relate to the harshness and uncharitable nature we experience here. People have to remember being right does not give one the license to condemn one another. The Lord will judge us, for he really knows whats is our hearts. We cannot fool him.

We need to talk and share and if we still disagree we need to agree we disagree in a Christian manner.👍

O Lord, our God,
You called Your people to be Your Church.
As they gather together in Your Name,
may they love, honour, and follow Your Son
to eternal life in the Kingdom He promised.

Let their worship always be sincere,
and help them to find Your saving Love
in the Church and its Sacraments.

Fill with the Spirit of Christ
those whom You call to live
in the midst of the world and its concern.
Help them by their work on earth
to build up Your eternal Kingdom.
May they be effective witnesses
to the Truth of the Gospel
and make Your Church a living presence
in the midst of the world.

Increase the gifts You have given Your Church
that Your faithful people may continue to grow
in holiness and in imitation of Your Beloved Son.
Amen.

That prayers cannot be answered.God cannot support a lie…you all dont see…there is ONE church, and its called Christianity. You seek to break that body by your church’s assertions.

Everything…seriously, all of the requirements were impediments to my relationship with Christ.

The entire concept of the RCC position surrounding sins…did nothing but fill me with anxiety, fear and complete failure at never being able to meet the institutional requirements necessary for my hope of salvation.

Christ died on the cross as one final sacrifice…it is done.
Why do you feel so guilty? Have you committed any mortal sin? Feeling guilty makes us aware that there is good and there is evil, moral and immoral, truths and untruths where we should respond properly to increase our faiths and build our behaviors by avoiding bad temptations.

Were you so afraid to even to go to confession? This first step to seek reconciliation has proven to be tough! But is also proven that it’s not really tough.

Now, you separated yourself from the body of Christ- the Church. What do you have left? Bible and heresies, no doubt. You may read your bible cover to cover, even memorize it, what does it profit you? Sin will soon let you forget whatever you have learned- trust me! I’ve read books and bibles, too. It’s too easy. In the end I preferred the valid Eucharist. Because it isn’t easy to make myself worthy in receiving Him in the holy communion. You will be up against the world! But there will be inner peace and unexplicable joy.

Foolishness and pride tricks the mind- your brain. Soon it poisons your heart.
The Lord looks for a sincere and humble heart… for that’s the only way a poor man (like me) can qualify to meet His maker.

Just a word I hoped you’ll consider. I’m praying for you…

Lord Jesus, there is anger in my heart and I cannot root it out.
I know that I should calm down and offer the hurt and disappointment to You
but my emotion is running away with me.
Help me to overcome this weakness and give me peace of heart as well as mind.
Let me learn from this experience and grow into a better human being. Amen.

Eternal Father, I humbly adore Thee, and thank Thee for having created me, and for having redeemed me through Jesus Christ. I thank Thee most sincerely for having made me a Catholic Christian, by giving me the true faith, and by adopting me as Thy daughter, in the sacrament of baptism. I thank Thee for having, after the numberless sins I had committed, waited for my repentance, and for having pardoned (as I humbly hope) all the offenses which I have offered to Thee, and for which I am now sincerely sorry, because they have been displeasing to Thee, who art infinite goodness. I thank Thee for having preserved me from so many relapses, of which I would have been guilty if Thou hadst not protected me. But my enemies still continue, and will continue till death, to combat against me, and to endeavor to make me their slave. If Thou dost not constantly guard and succor me with thy aid, I, a miserable creature, shall return to sin, and shall certainly lose Thy grace. I beseech Thee, then, for the love of Jesus Christ, to grant me holy perseverance unto death. Jesus, Thy Son, has promised that Thou wilt grant whatsoever we ask in his name. Through the merits, then, of Jesus Christ, I beg, for myself and for all the just, the grace never again to be separated from Thy love in sin, but to love Thee forever, in time and eternity. Mary, Mother of God, pray to Jesus for me. Amen.

Doing what you are doing for sake of public display is something Jesus spoke against. Therefore…doing what Jesus spoke against doing…well you know what they got right?

Since Jesus said that the Father had appointed Him judge of all men, why don’t we leave that up to Him, unless, of course, He has officially made you His surrogate? Seems He also spoke against judging others but apparently that doesn’t apply to you.

and that is relevant HOW exactly?
You tell me. How can a BELIEVER of Islam and a BELIEVER of Christianity, the same person, be said to be a member of the Body of Christ? If ALL believers are the Body of Christ…
