Yet another reason I need a dog. An acquaintance of mine made the comment that the purpose of the dog is to let you know when you need to retrieve the firearm(s).

I remember when I was a kid and my aunt used to take care of me. My Grandma would go run errands, so she would tell us that if they came by to turn off the lights and hide until they were gone xD.

Perhaps a bunch of stuff that wouldn’t make sense if Jesus were not God?
How is He forgiving sins? How is He fixing teaching from the Torah, the word of God?! Forgiving sin? He is the Word? etc

Forgiving sins shows Christs divinity ? Nope
they say Jehovah gave Him that authority

They have a lot of translation…liberalties. We had a couple of their Bibles. Translating cross as stake etc. I recall their Genesis version sounding weird.

Im Catholic and my wife is Jewish, so when they come to the door (both the J-dubs and the Mormons) we simply state we have PLENTY of religion in this house, thank you very much, point at the Mary statue on the porch and the mezuzah in the door, and invite them in for a glass of wine. that usually takes care of the problem.

I just wish them a good day and better luck at the next house, with a serene smile.
In which lives a fierce, devout, elderly German Lutheran lady, who sounds like she enjoys verbally chewing them into philosophical mince. I probably should be sorry for doing this to the poor misguided missionaries, but I figure brightening my neighbour’s day balances things out.

They come to my house sometimes and mom argues with them about the Eucharist and stuff. It’s weird though because they come back even more regularly because of that. If it’s my dad who opens the door he just ignores them and starts talking about the weather so they just get bored and go. There’s a family of them that live nearby and they’re nice. They even went to my granny’s funeral mass.

Quite cunning.

I love it.

Is he open to discussion through email? It’s always been my impression that YouTube’s “Comments” section is not a place to argue but to comment on whether or not you like the video you’re viewing.

If this person is open to discussion by email, create a disposable email account and converse there.

If he isn’t open to discussion via email, pray for him but do not engage in further discussion with him. Remember that YouTube has rules every member of the website must follow, whether or not they post their own videos. It’s not worth your getting suspended from the website since it’s a wonderful way to reach people with your own videos.

Perhaps create your own video in response to this JW’s views. You will reach more than this one person.

Either Fr Trigilio or Fr Brighenti sent people like that to the nuns in back of them. The nuns were not amused.😊🤣

The few times I’ve had Jehovah Witnesses come up to my door, I never felt intimidated at all or in need of a firearm or a dog. They were perfectly polite and left without a fuss or a cross word when they saw I was not interested in what they were selling.

All of our JW friends in these parts visit from their temple up in the 'hood and are polite African American women, trying to intimidate people because you disagree with their religious beliefs just isn’t my standard operating procedure.

I dont think Christ would do the things described in some of the posts here to JW’s. My suggestion is to pick up that cross and engage in a Christ like manner and in doing so striengthen your own faith with knowledge. The kind of knowledge that will have them scratch their own head and decide for themselves when enough is enough.

Last year I received a letter in the mail from a nice JW woman wanting to engage with me. I wrote her back a letter explaning how excited i was that she contacted me and I to would love to share the gospel with her. I stated in the letter that before we waisted each other’s time throwing scriptures back and forth to prove each of our own positions, i thought it would be a good idea that we establish 1st who’s interpretation was the correct one. I asked her to simply prove why her interpretation of the scriptures was the superior interpretation to all other interpretations in the world and how can one know this truth?

After a 2 months of no response i wrote another letter and gave my phone # incase she wanted to talk and to make sure she received my original letter.

She sooned called me to tell me she had no answer to my question but I could contact one of the elders who might be able to answer that question. I told her I have my own answer but I was looking for her answer and told her i thought it made sense that anyone professing to know the “truth” whould want to know the answer to this question.

She sent me a final letter thanking me for my ongoing interest about religion but she could not continue to answer all the questions I have and that this was her final correspondence and if i had other questions I could go to their website.

I wrote here back my final letter stating “OK but please remember you were the one who contacted me to begin the dialogue. I assume it to be under the notion of “JW’s having the truth”. And I hope the next dialogue you begin you might consider leading with this to save much time.”

I think it is important, but not a must, to learn our own faith enough to dialogue with people of other faiths if for no other reason to dispell all the misunderstandings. I know wiht JW’s its not easy when they just wont listen but having knowledge, wisdon, and perseverance of the truth faith is really the best defence allowable. Let them walk away if they choose, lets not push them away.

Peace!!!

I grew up in a JW home and God removed me in 1993. My entire immediate family is still in the clutches of this cult. They are brainwashed, controlled, and are mentally beat 24/7. The lifestyle is so saturated with the cult lingo, actions and twisted reward system that any type of media is NOT going to make a difference. It is only face to face with short to the point comments that will spark the individual to think “Wait a minute, WHAT?” They are so mislead, and so preyed upon. They desperately need our prayers of deliverance from this cult and mental abuse.

You won’t find too much that is edifying on YouTube, FaceBook , or Huffington Post.

Guard your eyes.

I’ve had my own dealings with JWs inc going Scripture to Scripture in the blazing hot sun of Summer because I wasn’t about to let them in my house. (I knew they’d never leave.)

I ended up calling the Kingdom Hall and asking to be put on a list of people NOT to visit. That is what works best.

It takes two people to argue.

Step away, pray for him and don’t engage in YouTube debates.
