I feel the same way. The ‘gay agenda’ seems to have taken over all our political discourse (including our delegation to the Olympics in Sochi). Add that to the contraceptive mandate, and I feel like this country should be re-named, ‘The United States of Sexual Freedom’.
Please explain? To start off I do not believe sexual orientation other then heterosexual, or gender identity disorder are not evil, but part of God’s divine plan for us.

Sexual disorders are only part of what God allows, not part of his plans. They, like other illnesses and disorders, entered the world with the sin of Adam and Eve. God does not want someone to suffer from homosexuality any more than he wants someone to have cancer or blindness or to be born with a disfigurement.

It doesn’t matter what I “think”. It’s the science that matters. In some cases, it’s medical, in others it’s genetic, in others it’s psychological and in still others the cause is unknown. The treatment should be appropriate to the cause and to many other factors. Surgery should be, as the Church teaches, a last option and only used in severe cases as a way to relieve extreme distress.
I agree. It is such severe distress that the only option for relief is Sex Reassignment Surgery, and Hormone Replacement Therapy. I respect everybody’s point of view, let us all remember that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

Someone would be hurt in abortion or in adult-child relations, so those would be out under the “don’t hurt anyone” idea. But “it can’t be wrong unless you hurt someone” teaching is what I heard a Jesuit priest lecture on approvingly at a Berkeley conference sometime back.
Definitely I do not support abortion, I’ve actually protested outside planned parenthood. I do consider myself pro life, but I’ve learned so much throughout my life. I stayed away from the Church for many years. Once I returned I found myself in the conflict of choosing being myself or my faith. I even considered changing, but that would make me unhappy. I go back to when I started puberty. My body was developing male, and my mind female. I felt heartbroken. One time I was going to get my hormones taken away, and I considered overdosing. God loves me so much, I wouldn’t be this way if it wasn’t part of His plan for me. Who would choose to be this way?
I truly believe Jesus is present in the Eucharist. I frequently go to Confession (maybe to frequently…). I am considered medically and legally female. My heart believes that too. For the past couple months I chose to follow what the Church says about living a chaste life. I even considered changing who I am. That would be being untrue to myself. I’ve made the difficult choice of living my life as any other 22 year old Catholic female would. And I’ve never been more happy.
Some members have left the Catholic Answers Forums because CAF management would not allow them to behave rudely. There are many venues on the Internet where one may behave as uncharitably as one desires. This is not one of them.
