[5:62] And when they come to you, they say, ‘We believe,’ while they enter with unbelief and go out therewith; and Allah knows best what they conceal.

[5:63] وَتَرَىٰ كَثِيرً۬ا مِّنۡہُمۡ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٲنِ وَأَڪۡلِهِمُ ٱلسُّحۡتَ‌ۚ لَبِئۡسَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ [5:63] And thou seest many of them hastening towards sin and transgression and the eating of things forbidden. Evil indeed is that which they practise.

[5:64] لَوۡلَا يَنۡہَٮٰهُمُ ٱلرَّبَّـٰنِيُّونَ وَٱلۡأَحۡبَارُ عَن قَوۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡإِثۡمَ وَأَكۡلِهِمُ ٱلسُّحۡتَ‌ۚ لَبِئۡسَ مَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ
[5:64] Why do not the divines and those learned in the Law prohibit them from uttering falsehood and eating things forbidden? Evil indeed is that which they do.

[5:65] وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَہُودُ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ مَغۡلُولَةٌ‌ۚ غُلَّتۡ أَيۡدِيہِمۡ وَلُعِنُواْ بِمَا قَالُواْ‌ۘ بَلۡ يَدَاهُ مَبۡسُوطَتَانِ يُنفِقُ كَيۡفَ يَشَآءُ‌ۚ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرً۬ا مِّنۡہُم مَّآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغۡيَـٰنً۬ا وَكُفۡرً۬ا‌ۚ وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا بَيۡنَہُمُ ٱلۡعَدَٲوَةَ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءَ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۚ كُلَّمَآ أَوۡقَدُواْ نَارً۬ا لِّلۡحَرۡبِ أَطۡفَأَهَا ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ وَيَسۡعَوۡنَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَسَادً۬ا‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
[5:65] And the Jews say, ‘The hand of Allah is tied up.’ Their own hands shall be tied up and they shall be cursed for what they say. Nay, both His hands are wide open; He spends how He pleases. And what has been sent down to thee from thy Lord will most surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. And We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle a fire for war, Allah extinguishes it. And they strive to create disorder in the earth, and Allah loves not those who create disorder.

[5:66] وَلَوۡ أَنَّ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبِ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ لَڪَفَّرۡنَا عَنۡہُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِہِمۡ وَلَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
[5:66] And if the People of the Book had believed and been righteous, We would surely have removed from them their evils and We would surely have admitted them into Gardens of Bliss.

[5:67] وَلَوۡ أَنَّہُمۡ أَقَامُواْ ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡہِم مِّن رَّبِّہِمۡ لَأَڪَلُواْ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَمِن تَحۡتِ أَرۡجُلِهِم‌ۚ مِّنۡہُمۡ أُمَّةٌ۬ مُّقۡتَصِدَةٌ۬‌ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ سَآءَ مَا يَعۡمَلُونَ
[5:67] And if they had observed the Torah and the Gospel and what has been now sent down to them from their Lord, they would, surely, have eaten of good things from above them and from under their feet. Among them are a people who are moderate; but many of them — evil indeed is that which they do.

[5:68] ۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلرَّسُولُ بَلِّغۡ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ‌ۖ وَإِن لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلۡ فَمَا بَلَّغۡتَ رِسَالَتَهُ ۥ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡصِمُكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ‌ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَہۡدِى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
[5:68] O Messenger! convey to the people what has been revealed to thee from thy Lord; and if thou do it not, thou hast not conveyed His Message at all. And Allah will protect thee from men. Surely, Allah guides not the disbelieving people.

[5:69] قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَسۡتُمۡ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ حَتَّىٰ تُقِيمُواْ ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ‌ۗ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرً۬ا مِّنۡہُم مَّآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغۡيَـٰنً۬ا وَكُفۡرً۬ا‌ۖ فَلَا تَأۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
[5:69] Say, ‘O People of the Book! you stand on nothing until you observe the Torah and the Gospel and what has now been sent down to you from your Lord.’ And surely, what has been sent down to thee from thy Lord will increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief; so grieve not for the disbelieving people.

Besides, if we corrupt scriptures, why on earth didn’t we insert this phrase that all Muslims are looking for? and if it exists, will you believe it? there are apocryphas that say explicitely Jesus is God, yet we reject them, why if they “serve” our corrupt and deceitful belief?

Well no, Jesus did not say “i am God”, but he said He is the alpha and omega, He is the resurrection and life, He gives peace the world does not give, He send prophets, He gives wisdom, He knows the hearts and minds of men, He has all power on earth and in heaven, He is the Judge, Whatver the Father does, He does likewise, he and the Father are One, He is eternal, He is the Lord of David, ecc.

If you think a mere human can utter these words, it means you have absolutely no clue neither about the OT, nor about any Biblical prophet, nor about what blasphemy is if Jesus is not who He said He is.

So instead of saying that Jesus did not claim divinity, better do what all your brothers in Islam say, that all of the NT is corrupt, which results in saying that God does not preserve His words, that God isn’t neither faithful, nor serious, nor has any power over humans and maybe you will be able to dig out from earth the gospel that all Christians had when Muhammad asked them to abide by it, and which miraculously disappeared off the planet after Muhammad.

If this is all that you got, the information on Jesus is miserably scarce in the Quran.

There is no mention of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount – a highly virtuous teaching in guiding a person on how to lead holy life.

There is no mention of the many miracles that Jesus performed most of which have spiritual implication and teaching. Specifically there is no mention of the healing of the blinds, lepers, paralytics, the hemorrhaging woman and the deliverance of the devil.

There is no mention of the parables and stories told by Jesus to emphasize his teachings. No mention of the parable of the sower, the prodigal son, the lost sheep, workers of the vineyard, and the ungrateful tenant.

There is no mention of healing of the Centurion’s servant, the raising of Lazarus from the dead and what he said to them.

There is no mention of Jesus’ exhortation that we are the salt of the earth and the light to the world.

There is no mention of the greatest commandment.

There is no mention of the appointment of the disciples. No report of the transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain, Jesus baptism in river Jordan and God’s voice saying he is the beloved Son.

There is no mention of Jesus walking on the water and calming the storm. No mention of Jesus telling the disciples not to be afraid.

There is no mention what he said about Sabbath and what he did therein. No mention on his teaching about the last day and no mention on what he said one must do to have eternal life. No mention of who are the least of his brethrens.

There is no mention of Jesus promising the disciples of the Holy Spirit. No mention of him asking them to stay in Jerusalem to wait for the power on high.

There is no mention of where Jesus admitted that he is the Son of the living God.

There is no mention of Jesus trial with Pontus Pilate, agony in the garden, the carrying of the cross and the forgiveness of the two criminal.

There is no mention of etc, etc, etc, etc & etc.

With so scarce information of Jesus in the Quran where many of his vital teachings and action were not accounted or recorded, it is little wonder Muslims do not know the true Jesus. What you think you know about him is just the tip of an iceberg and misses what lies underneath the ocean.

The Quran is pathetically insufficient on the knowledge of Jesus it is little wonder you do not know the real Jesus. No wonder Muslims consider him to be only a good prophet.

That is true! And worse, the Quran Jesus is only fiction. A "scare crow" to deceive Christians into thinking that Muslims believe in “love of enemies” just as the true Jesus does. In reality, the Quran teaches to consider Christians and Jews as their enemies.

Jesus never called himself God as I mentioned in a previous post.

One of what He tried to teach the people is humility. He would have contradicted His own teachings if ever He said what sinful men would have said.

Jesus was a Jew. And He knew the commandment that God alone shall be worshipped. In Math 8:2-3, this is written:
"And behold, a leper came up and worshipped him, saying, “Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.” And stretching forth his hand Jesus touched him, saying, “I will; be thou made clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed."

In that passage, Jesus did not rebuke the leper worshipping Him. On the contrary He approved the act of the leper by curing him. Therefore, Jesus confirmed to the leper and to all of us that He is worthy of worship. And God alone is worthy of worship. Therefore, no doubt, the real Jesus is God.

[5:73] Indeed they are disbelievers who say, ‘Surely, Allah is none but the Messiah, son of Mary,’ whereas the Messiah himself said, ‘O children of Israel, worship Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord.’ Surely, whoso associates partners with Allah, him has Allah forbidden Heaven, and the Fire will be his resort. And the wrongdoers shall have no helpers.

[5:74] لَّقَدۡ ڪَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَـٰثَةٍ۬‌ۘ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّآ إِلَـٰهٌ۬ وَٲحِدٌ۬‌ۚ وَإِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهُواْ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
[5:74] They are surely disbelievers who say, ‘Allah is the third of three;’ there is no God but the One God. And if they do not desist from what they say, a grievous punishment shall surely befall those of them that disbelieve.

[5:75] أَفَلَا يَتُوبُونَ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَهُ ۥ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمٌ۬
[5:75] Will they not then turn to Allah and beg His forgiveness, while Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful?

[5:76] مَّا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ۬ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُ ۥ صِدِّيقَةٌ۬‌ۖ ڪَانَا يَأۡڪُلَانِ ٱلطَّعَامَ‌ۗ ٱنظُرۡ ڪَيۡفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرۡ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ
[5:76] The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; surely, Messengers like unto him had indeed passed away before him. And his mother was a truthful woman. They both used to eat food. See how We explain the Signs for their good, and see how they are turned away.

[5:77] قُلۡ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمۡلِكُ لَڪُمۡ ضَرًّ۬ا وَلَا نَفۡعً۬ا‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
[5:77] Say, ‘Will you worship beside Allah that which has no power to do you harm or good?’ And it is Allah Who is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

[5:78] قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِى دِينِڪُمۡ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَ قَوۡمٍ۬ قَدۡ ضَلُّواْ مِن قَبۡلُ وَأَضَلُّواْ ڪَثِيرً۬ا وَضَلُّواْ عَن سَوَآءِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
[5:78] Say, ‘O People of the Book! exceed not the limits in the matter of your religion unjustly, nor follow the evil inclinations of a people who went astray before and caused many to go astray, and who have strayed away from the right path.’

[5:79] لُعِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ عَلَىٰ لِسَانِ دَاوُ ۥدَ وَعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ بِمَا عَصَواْ وَّڪَانُواْ يَعۡتَدُونَ
[5:79] Those amongst the children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of David, and of Jesus, son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and used to transgress.

[5:80] ڪَانُواْ لَا يَتَنَاهَوۡنَ عَن مُّنڪَرٍ۬ فَعَلُوهُ‌ۚ لَبِئۡسَ مَا ڪَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ
[5:80] They did not prohibit one another from the iniquity which they committed. Evil indeed was that which they used to do. ۔

Just because something is in the NT doesn’t not mean I’m not familar with it. I am a revert from Christianty and come from a large christian family so I know what the gospels teach.

For starter, you can read the Bible in Mathew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23 and John 19; then refer to corresponding teaching from the Quran and you will notice the difference. There are more but in the chapters that I’ve given you it will not be hard for you to figure out what I was trying to say.

Sorry I don’t own a bible because everything I need to know is in Qur’an. I thought there was something you had off the top of your head. Is it true that you guys believe that Jesus(peace be upon him) was born of Mary(peace be upon her) and another fella named Joesph?

The Holy Quran : Chapter 5: Al-Ma’idah المَائدة

[5:71] لَقَدۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِيثَـٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ وَأَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡہِمۡ رُسُلاً۬‌ۖ ڪُلَّمَا جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولُۢ بِمَا لَا تَهۡوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُہُمۡ فَرِيقً۬ا ڪَذَّبُواْ وَفَرِيقً۬ا يَقۡتُلُونَ
[5:71] Surely, We took a covenant from the children of Israel, and We sent Messengers to them. But every time there came to them a Messenger with what their hearts desired not, they treated some as liars, and some they sought to kill.

[5:72] وَحَسِبُوٓاْ أَلَّا تَكُونَ فِتۡنَةٌ۬ فَعَمُواْ وَصَمُّواْ ثُمَّ تَابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ثُمَّ عَمُواْ وَصَمُّواْ ڪَثِيرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ
[5:72] And they thought there would be no punishment, so they became blind and deaf. But Allah turned to them in mercy; yet again many of them became blind and deaf; and Allah is Watchful of what they do.

[5:73] لَقَدۡ ڪَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ‌ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ يَـٰبَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّڪُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّهُ ۥ مَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَمَأۡوَٮٰهُ ٱلنَّارُ‌ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِنۡ أَنصَارٍ۬
[5:73] Indeed they are disbelievers who say, ‘Surely, Allah is none but the Messiah, son of Mary,’ whereas the Messiah himself said, ‘O children of Israel, worship Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord.’ Surely, whoso associates partners with Allah, him has Allah forbidden Heaven, and the Fire will be his resort. And the wrongdoers shall have no helpers.

[5:74] لَّقَدۡ ڪَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَـٰثَةٍ۬‌ۘ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّآ إِلَـٰهٌ۬ وَٲحِدٌ۬‌ۚ وَإِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهُواْ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
[5:74] They are surely disbelievers who say, ‘Allah is the third of three;’ there is no God but the One God. And if they do not desist from what they say, a grievous punishment shall surely befall those of them that disbelieve.

[5:75] أَفَلَا يَتُوبُونَ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَهُ ۥ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمٌ۬
[5:75] Will they not then turn to Allah and beg His forgiveness, while Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful?

[5:76] مَّا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ۬ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُ ۥ صِدِّيقَةٌ۬‌ۖ ڪَانَا يَأۡڪُلَانِ ٱلطَّعَامَ‌ۗ ٱنظُرۡ ڪَيۡفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرۡ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ
[5:76] The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; surely, Messengers like unto him had indeed passed away before him. And his mother was a truthful woman. They both used to eat food. See how We explain the Signs for their good, and see how they are turned away.

[5:77] قُلۡ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمۡلِكُ لَڪُمۡ ضَرًّ۬ا وَلَا نَفۡعً۬ا‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
[5:77] Say, ‘Will you worship beside Allah that which has no power to do you harm or good?’ And it is Allah Who is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
