I was referring to saint of saints comments and when people use praying to other saints as THE only example of why we are to have devotion to Mary. Titles which denote Mary as having a singular privilege in unique position to the Church do not present problems.

To take one line from Scripture at the neglect of other scripture passages when addressing discussions concerning our Blessed Mother is something that interdenominational churches are known to do. And not something that the Catholic Church is meant to do.

Oh no. That is putting Mary before Jesus and that is what is wrong, The whole "to Jesus through Mary"and the movement some advocate to make mary Co-Mediatrix. She must be holding her head in horror. She , humble and lowly servant .

The relational aspect between Jesus and Mary is inseparable. Especially written into icons.
 
So St Louis de Montfort didn’t really mean what he said. Hmmm, okay, then as another poster told us, why did Don do the True Devotion to Mary? If he was only speaking in hyperbole then why does any priest or religious follow the devotion? Surely the Church is smart enough to warn officially against it, where is the warning?

See the problem with that statement is St. Louis de Montfort specifically warns against people who will tell you that the Saints where only speaking in hyperboles! They didn’t really mean that! He tells us no, it is true, it is meant…

But, fine, I will give you St Louis de Montfort, let’s say he is wrong and didn’t mean anything he said, what of all the other Saints, of which I have provided only a few and their quotes? Were they also only speaking in hyperbole?

Don, as one who, it is said, has done the devotion to Mary, what say you? Will you support this statement or condemn it as loudly as you condemned me?

Also, I’d love to point out that at no time did I criticize James, find one post of mine where I did and I will not say another word on these threads. So his claim that we Marian devotees are beating up on him is false.
 
USMC_Convert is not a name either but I’m not crying that people call me that because it is what I put for my “username”. So unless Don comes on here and asks me not to call him that, then I will continue to call him that. It is not disrespectful nor am I using it in a disrespectful way.

Yes, I agree. From reading his posts he is advocating against the extreme that it is necessary for salvation as some Catholics do imply YOU MUST pray the rosary. It’s a private voluntary devotion.

You were counseled by someone who is European and you rejected that counsel.

In fact, what you have done is considered disrespectful when it comes to the use of my title as a priest.

It is a matter I am reporting and then leaving to the Moderator of this subforum to contend with.
