Salaam/peace

either Jesus was wicked, a liar, He was insane, or He was the Son of God.
What about the Other options ? 🙂

Jesus (pbuh) was a humble servant and blessed Prophet of God Almighty.

references from holy Bible: “My Father is greater than I.”

[The Bible, John 14:28]

** “My Father is greater than all.”**
[The Bible, John 10:29]

And pl. remember , the title son was also used for Adam (pbuh) , David (pbuh) & many others . So , if this title is used for Jesus (pbuh) also , it did not make him equal to God . If u think so , Jesus (pbuh) corrected you more than once . So , listen to him 🙂

Proof from God’s Last holy book :

The Messiah will never be proud to reject to be a slave to Allah, nor the angels who are near (to Allah).

And whosoever rejects His worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together unto Himself So, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards, and more out of His Bounty.

But as for those who refuse His worship and were proud, He will punish them with a painful torment. And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper.

Too true sister. 🙂
bro , Welcome to the forum .

I’m curious Jastor. How is it possible you didn’t know this is what the Catholic Church taught? You obvioiulsy have said the Apostle’s Creed right?
Why did the catholic church teach such a thing?
It is very explicit in the teaching. However, how do you have faith? You believe. God ultimately gives you faith and you have the opportunity to respond.
**Again same problem. Why did the church teach that?

Now about faith. Faith should be based on reason and logic and should be rational. Otherwsie, do you not know that the pagans have faith. They believe that the idols help them before god. So they worship the idols. Would you believe their faith? Surely not.**
Here it is in a nutshell.
Matthew 22:41
Obviously refering to his divinity:
The high preist tore his clothes? Why? Blasphemy. Because Jesus said he was the Son of God (in otherwords divine; note that Roman emperors cliamed they were gods because of their liniage from a god) And Jesus said that he would be coming down from heaven in God’s glory.
** Please see that the Jews, the ones having same religion as Jesus (Because Jesus was a Jew) are not ready to accept jesus as son of God. They tore their clothes when Jesus said he was son of God**. That was metaphorical or whatever. The Jews were not ready to accept Jesus as a son of God. But you people are making Jesus as God.

How could we believe you? When the holders (elders) of the faith of Jesus did not even allow him to be called the son of God. Also if Jesus was God, it was the best time for him to say before the Jews that he was not a son of God but he was “The God” himself. But he did not do that. Why?
This is Jesus Testimony of himself. That he is God. He has come to save you from your sins and rebellion against God. How? By dieing for you on a cross and taking on your punishment: Is 53 says
** It is no testimony that Jesus ever said that he was God. Perhaps the doubting Thomas told Jesus that he was God. But his testimony is doubtful because he is the doubting Thomas**.
By his sacrifice, suffering he places you into his relationship with God whereby you are made righteous because of what he did on your behalf. He also raised from the dead on the third day; a future promise for all believers that on the last day we too will raise from the dead (physically). If you believe that this is the case then repent (turn your life totally around from sin and live for Christ) partake in the Sacraments of he Church and get to know God better by participating in the Church, praying (talking with God), reading and knowing Holy Scriptures. And share your faith with others.
** I do not reply to that para because it is not true at all. Again there is some belief matter. The belief should be rational. Having dual or more than dual (i.e. multiple, complex) role for jesus (as a man, as a god, as a son of man, as a son of God, as a son of a woman, as a prophet too who cannot be god, as a messenger too who can never be a god), it makes the church teachings very complicated. Why not have one role for Jesus, please? WE love Jesus and we know exactly what he was. i.e. a Man of God.**

Aww, come on you guys, the OP has a sincere question. Don’t be mean by telling him/her that he/she must be joking 😦
Only one person has asked if the poster was joking. Many people have tried to honestly answer his/her question

I don’t mean to be offensive, and am sorry if anyone took it that way, but there are too many people that come to the forum simply to be provocative. I may have confused this question for one of those. Or not.

If He didn’t claim to be equal to God, why was He crucified for that very offense?

Your “proof” as the Quran as God’s last “Holy Book” begs the question.

I have read the gospels and it doesn’t say he is God as clearly as you have, where does it say this?
Try this website:

scripturecatholic.com/

It has a whole section on the divinity of Christ with quotes from Old/New Testament and the Church Fathers.

If you want a theological discussion about the Trinity (a concept most Muslims such as your self, are often confused about) you can find one here:

katapi.org.uk/TandS/Contents.html

I thought the book of morman was God’s last scripture? I guess the muslims are out of luck

I thought the book of morman was God’s last scripture? I guess the muslims are out of luck
** Mormon scripture may be the last testament for the Catholics or christians, nothing to do with Islam. The mormons are competing very well with the Catholics. They are preaching christianity and Joseph Smith was a messenger of Jesus, not Muhammad.**

Jesus is God because He said He is God (“Before Abraham was, I AM”) and He proved He is God by doing things only God can do: forgiving sins, raising the dead, multiplying bread, etc.
No those are simply the things that he called his disiples to do. And, I believe they did most of them. He said that those who believe him would do the works he did and greater works would they do…

In His yeshua,

Vincent

Read John: 17,1-26. Jesus is praying to the Father, and it is clear the relationship between the Father and Jesus, the Son. Jesus’s words in this prayer are irrefutable proof that He is the Son of God. Of, course, belief in this relies on the assumption that you believe in the Trinity. If you reject the Trinity, though, it won’t help you much, I’m afraid.
He called all men to become sons of God. Haven’t you ever wanted to know what that means?

I believe in the Oneness of God. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. 1 Tim 3:16. I am so proud of the way the Catholics are explaining that Jesus is God. If this is what the Trinity is then maybe I can believe in a Trinity. I am also amazed that the Catholic Church has a site where anyone can come in and ask questions, challenge Catholic Doctrine, etc. How many Christian denominations allow such scrutiny and examination. And I can assure you Christians are not allowed to challenge Muslim teachings in Muslim countries. They would be killed or (name removed by moderator)risoned. This shows me which religion is true.

Jastor, You ask this question because you are searching for explanations of truth through knowledge. Although I’m muslim, I’ve asked the same questions you did to christians and received similar answers. The simple answer is that they believe Jesus is God becuase the bible implies it. It’s ironic though how such an important concept is not explicitly stated in the Bible. Jesus according to paul/mathew/john/luke ect… should have made it clear and said explicity “I am the lord” or something similar so as to clear any ambiguities or questions.

Even if that were the case, common sense tells us we shouldn’t believe in something simply becuase it is written somewhere. It’s necessary for a person to believe in the fundamentals of faith using his own insight and understanding and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a profound understanding. The idea of a God who is governed by the laws he created is a contradition in itself. On the one hand christians believe God is all powerfull and above everything, yet on the other hand he is born to a human and is subservient to the laws of nature. On one hand he is the governor, on the other hand he is being governed.

That was not a serious statement. The book of Mormon is as much a fraud as the quran.

Jesus Christ Claims to be God

Matt. 4:7; Luke 4:12 - Jesus tells satan, “you shall not tempt the Lord your God” in reference to Himself.

Matt. 5:21-22; 27-28; 31-32; 33-34; 38-39; 43-44 - Jesus makes Himself equal to God when He declares, “You heard it said…but I say to you…”

Matt. 7:21-22; Luke 6:46 - not everyone who says to Jesus, “Lord, Lord.” Jesus calls Himself Lord, which is God.

Matt. 9:2; Mark 2:5; Luke 5:20; 7:48 - Jesus forgives sins. Only God can forgive sins.

Matt. 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5 - Jesus says that He is “Lord of the Sabbath.” He is the Lord of God’s law which means He is God.

Matt. 18:20 - Jesus says where two or three are gathered in His name, there He is in the midst of them.

Matt. 21:3; Luke 19:31,34 - Jesus calls himself “Lord.” “The Lord has need of them.”

Matt. 26:64; Mark 14:62; Luke 22:70 - Jesus acknowledges that He is the Son of God.

Matt. 28:20 - Jesus said He is with us always, even unto the end of the world. Only God is omnipresent.

Mark 14:36 - Jesus calls God “Abba,” Aramaic for daddy, which was an absolutely unprecedented address to God and demonstrates Jesus’ unique intimacy with the Father.

Luke 8:39 - Luke reports that Jesus said “tell how much God has done for you.” And the man declared how much Jesus did.

Luke 17:18 - Jesus asks why the other nine lepers did not come back to give praise to Him, God, except the Samaritan leper.

Luke 19:38,40 - Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. If these were silent, the very stones would cry out.

John 5:18 - Jesus claimed to be God. The Jews knew this because Jesus called God His Father and made Himself equal to God. This is why Jesus was crucified.

John 5:21-22 - Jesus gives life and says that all judgment has been given to Him by the Father.

John 5:23 - Jesus equates Himself with the Father, “whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”

John 6:38 - Jesus says, “For I have come down from heaven.”

John 8:12 - Jesus says “I am the light of the world.” - 1 John 1:5 - God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.

John 8:19 - Jesus says, “if you knew me, you would know my Father also.”

John 8:23 - Jesus says that He is not of this world. Only God is not of this world.

John 8:58 - Jesus says, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” Exodus 3:14 - “I AM” means “Yahweh,” which means God.

John 10:18 - Jesus says He has the power to lay down His life and take it up again - Gal. 1:1 - God raised Jesus to life.

John 10:30 - Jesus says, “I and the Father are one.” They are equal. The Jews even claimed Jesus made Himself equal to God. Jesus’ statement in John 14:28, “the Father is greater than I,” cannot contradict John 10:30 (the Word of God is never in conflict). Jesus’ statement in John 14:28 simply refers to His human messianic role as servant and slave, which He, and not the Father or the Holy Spirit, undertook in the flesh.

John 10:36 - again, Jesus claims that He is “the Son of God.”

John 10:38; 14:10 - “the Father is in me and I am in the Father” means the Father and Son are equal.

John 12:45 - Jesus says, “He who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.” God the Father is equal to God the Son.

John 13:13 - Jesus says, “You call me Teacher and Lord and you are right for so I AM.”

John 14:6 - Jesus says “I am the way, and the truth and the life.” Only God is the way, the truth and the life.

John 16:15 - Jesus says, “all things that the Father has are Mine.” Jesus has everything God has which makes Him God.

John 16:28 - Jesus says that “He came from the Father and has come into the world.”

John 17:5,24 - Jesus’ desire is for us to behold His glory which He had before the foundation of the world.

John 20:17 - Jesus distinguishes His relationship to the Father from our relationship by saying “My Father and your Father.”

Rev. 1:8 - God says He is the “Alpha and the Omega.” In Rev. 22:13, Jesus also says He is the “Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the beginning and the end.” The only possible conclusion one can reach is that Jesus is equal to the Lord God.

Rev. 1:17 - Jesus says again, “I am the First and the Last.” This is in reference to the God prophesied by Isaiah in Isaiah 44:6, 41:4, 48:12.

Rev. 1:18 - Jesus, the First and the Last, also says “I died, and behold, I am alive for evermore.” When did God ever die? He only did in the humanity of Jesus Christ our Lord and God.

Rev. 2:8 - Jesus again says, “The words of the First and the Last, who died and came to life.” When did God die and come to life? In our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

More evidence from scripture on the website, but I doubt you are interested since islam is rooted in lies.

Luke 4:12 this again is interpretation you should have quoted the entire passage instead you cut out the main part to give the passage a non intended meaning.
Jesus answered, “It says: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”
Here Jesus according to Luke is answering the devil about what is written. Again this is not the explicit reference to his divinity I was hoping, rather it is the interpretation you chose to attach to it. It could very well mean that the devil wanted Jesus to test God’s laws and jesus answered (i’m paraphrasing) It is not my place to test God’s laws, God is the one who tests, not me.

Matt. 5:21-22, I don’t see the equation here

Luke 6:46, Lord is a term used to honor someone, a noble person is also reffered to as Lord. Again not the explicit declaration I was hoping for

Matt. 9:2; Jesus here according to Matthew says the man’s sins are forgiven, you assumed he has forgiven the man’s sin but nowhere does he say “I forgive your sins”
again presumption and creative christian interpretation.
