Jesus Pictures In Your Home

This afternoon at Mass, the priest asked how many of us had a Divine Mercy Jesus Picture enshrined in our home. Unfortunately I do not as of yet. I have picked up several copies of the free picture (the Kathleen Weber version of Hyla that seems to be the standard one handed out in USA) over the years, but what with people dying and other disorganized stuff happening, none of them have yet made it to the frame store.

I also noticed this week that my favorite Jesus picture that used to hang in Mother Angelica’s room is finally being digitized and provided to his fan club.

And I still have my mom’s Sacred Heart that I posted before to take to the frame store. I didn’t do it yet because I ordered a matching Immaculate Heart by the same artist to have them framed as a pair and I was waiting for that to arrive. It’s here now so they can both go this week and maybe the Divine Mercy at the same time.
I also have another old Jesus picture that is stuck on the kitchen wall which I am planning to frame because while it is just a free Jesus picture from the 80s, it’s 40 years old now and the organization that used to send them out all the time no longer does so, therefore it’ s now a “collectors item” in need of a proper frame.

What Jesus pictures do you have on your walls? Can one ever have too many Jesuses?

We have the “Almond eyed” Sacred Heart Jesus – the one that is looking at you no matter where you are standing in the room. ☺️ It’s in our foyer, so there is no missing it.

I have an unframed Divine Mercy Jesus in our bedroom, and another old Sacred Heart Jesus somewhere, but I don’t know where at the moment.

At my front door I have an icon of Jesus knocking on a door. It always reminds me that everyone time I open my door, that person is made in the image of God.
I also have an icon of Mary with Jesus as an infant

And a cross or crucifix in almost every room except the bathroom…

I have Christ in front of the High Priest

Not on my walls, but on my “wallpaper” This haunting image (focus on His eyes) painted by Heinrich Hofmann. It is a full page image in the 1953 Catholic Action Bible printed by Belmont Abbey.

I would love to have a print, but cannot locate one anywhere. The printed image is much clearer than this scanned and pasted version.

I have theDivine Mercy image in my kitchen above the mantelpiece where I can catch his eyes every time I pass through 🙂
The Sacred Heart image in my bedroom and a statue of the Sacred Heart in the lounge

I only have one Divine Mercy image unframed on a book shelf. Other than that I have no pictures or paintings of anything religious or otherwise anywhere. My walls are completely bare except for one crucifix. Divine Mercy and the Crucifix and a bottle of holy water are all I need.

I had the Sacred Heart Enthronement as well, about twenty years ago. Our Lady of Guadalupe is on the same wall in a smaller size.

There is also a Sacred Heart picture in my kitchen, and a Divine Mercy picture in two of my bedrooms. There is a crucifix (various sizes) in every room in my home.

I think it is an Australian Catholic tradition to have the Sacred Heart in the bedroom. We have a twin set of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary on either side of the bed. They were originally given to my grandparents as a wedding gift by a bishop in 1931.

My daughter is an artist and has done lots of religious commissions for the Catholic community. This one is a Lent commission for this past Lenten season.

I have an icon of Christ the Pantocrator and one of the Good Shepherd. I also havr an icon of St. Simeon with Christ in his arms.

I’m a consultant/contractor which involves a lot of travel. My room, while on the road, is always adorned with a picture of our savior!

I decorate my fridge with pictures of Jesus and Mary and Saints.

I have the Sacred Heart and Divine Mercy there.

The Bible shelf in the living room has a small crucifix and Baby Jesus in the manger.

I have a large Victorian print of William Dobson’s ‘The Good Shepherd’. It belonged to my grandmother who had a great influence on my faith formation. I saved it from her house when it was being cleared after she died forty years ago. Unfortunately the print is not in great condition due to its age.

This is Dobson’s original

I’ve got a lot of icon reproductions and other images of Our Lord, Mary and the saints on my walls, maybe too many. My small condo looks a little like a shrine 😁. It’s like those TV shows about hoarders: over many years, I’ve become a religious image hoarder! Anyway, I did a quick count, and there are now 20 pictures of Jesus in my home.
