In this picture the Pope is not praying TO the blessed Mary, but praying WITH her.

God of the Bible would of course NOT be pleased with us Christians if we prayed to statues. However, Allah of the Koran asks Muslims to worship the idol in Mecca (his supposed house) five times everyday and kiss its black stone during the pilgrimage.
perfect reply:).👍

Ed Rand is not pleased with our Bible and is uncannily eager to authorise a false religion with the help of a promise that exists neither in the Bible nor in the Koran!
Thats all we need, another ‘new’ religion to add to the mix…
Jesus knows my heart. He knows that I will go to great lengths to love my Muslim brothers and sisters. I forgive you.

I am a Christian, with a very wide open mind in comparison to most others apparently… others that believe God would let 1.5 billion of His sons and daughters be led to Hell by Satan. Don’t you think Satan’s greatest lies are going to be a little more of an international phenomenon than Islam is? i.e. Satan’s greatest lies are going to be much more appealing to an international audience. In your view of the world, the fact that I am born in the Middle East to loving, Muslim parents would make life quite unfair for me, wouldn’t it? Since this would mean that I am born into a household and landscape dominated by Satan. But if I am born in the US? I am far from the reach of Satan’s lies because of circumstances that I am born into. Is God that unfair?
I know that my views seem very unorthodox, but your views have not made sense to me for quite some time.
Any explanations? By God’s will I am born to loving, caring, parents in the Middle East who instruct me in their faith. Therefore, I am cursed to read and follow the teachings of Satan my whole life through. And if I’m born in the US I am much safer because we are at war with Satan’s lies… God is cruel…

Any comments from the true believers?

Why are YOU ignoring Matthew 10:5?
I’m not ignoring it. The Bible unlike the Quran, is written in chronological order and the quote I posted is later than yours. They’re both there, but you cling to this one as to a lifesaver and pretend the other doesn’t exist in your pathetic attempt to assert that Muhammad is the last prophet.

Why do you think the Church exists today? Because the Apostles did exactly as Jesus told them and proclaimed the good news to all the nations.

Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites because all they did was for show, but they had no interior virtue! He told them to clean the INSIDE of the cup so the outside would be clean! Do you understand what that means?

How about this:

You’re like whited sepulchres that are very pretty on the outside and filled with dead men’s bones and all kinds of filth on the inside!

Vickie
Did God give you the ability to see inside people’s hearts? Did He tell you to pass judgment on them?

No, I cannot see inside people’s hearts and those words I quoted are not my own, but Jesus’ words to the Pharisees, because HE could see what was really in their hearts and he knew their piety was only skin deep! They wanted to be seen to be pious, but were not.

You have spoken the truth. 🙂

But Muslims aren’t Pharisees. Muhammad told his companions that the best prayer–except for the mandatory ones–is the prayer which is prayed in a person’s home. He was talking about a prayer specific to Ramadan which is called Tarweeh (that means “resting,”) which is a prayer at night, during which the entire Qur’an is recited over the period of a month.

People shouldn’t be going to the mosques to be seen. And in fact, those who do it are committing a sin which is called riyaa’ (showing off.) Riyaa’ (showing off) is called “minor shirk,” and shirk is the greatest sin in Islam–it is associating partners with God.

Becuse if a person is going to the mosque to be seen by others, then he is not going for the sake of God. Therefore, his reward will be that he is seen and people will call him pious. And if his intention is wrong, then God will not reward him. Islam is clear on this.

There is a very famous hadith (first one in Bukhari and many other collections) which says that actions are by their intentions. So if a person is praying, but he is doing to show off, it is not an act of worship–it is a sin.

Jesus spoke the truth. And his teachings live on in Islam. 🙂

i did not understand from Angelos post that you are not a Christian! maybe you misunderstood?

as to loving Muslims, of course we should…

btw, are you from the Middle East??

Exodus 20:3–5
3 Do not have any other gods before me.
4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,

Then why do you have to kiss the Black Stone (Hajr Aswat?? forgive me if i made a spelling mistake) in Hajj ritual. I heard that it is believed as a mark where Muhammad step in his foot. If it is correct, why do you have to kiss Muhammad remnant? That is idolatry. You are worshipping Muhammad, my friend.

Did Jesus (pbuh) ever pray to his mother?

Why should He? His mother was still alive when Jesus was around.
hamba2han;3801096:
Is God pleased when the Pope prays to Mary’s statue?
God’s mind is not the same as yours.
Does the Pope believe in adhering to the Ten Commandments?
Definitely.

What did I misunderstand?

I am from the US. The only country with the strength to fight off Satan’s minions.

Also, I would like you to explain to me how God is so cruel to people of the Middle East. I understand that Islam is not restricted to the Middle East, yet living there means being immersed in Satans lies. Don’t you agree that if you are born to Muslim parents it greatly increases your chances of believing in Satan’s evil lies? Explain to me why God would be so cruel. Satan’s greatest lie (Islam) is very much a cultural, geographical, and historical phenomenon. Why would God do that to people?

This is a big question for someone with a small mind like me.

The only good answer that I can think of is that it is not something mean but something kind. Perhaps those born in Islamic lands are more likely to get to heaven than if they were exposed to the sin that we deal with in the West. They have limited access to grace outside of their own souls, so God grants them what they need to make it. God knows that they cannot learn the truth. God knows the bondage of these people. God is not deaf to the groaning of their souls.

I guess I am saying that they would not make it to heaven in Las Vegas, so God puts them in Saudi Arabia.

Now that does not answer it completely. We have the early Christians to blaim. If every Christian that ever lived had been a 100% faithful follower of God’s Word, we would be the only faith around.

Interestingly enough many of the lands that are now primarily Islamic were christian to begin with. People do it to themselves and their children (great western poet said no man is an island unto themselves). Not God. Following that logic God would have kept Satan from humanity from the begining. By the way what do moslems beleive satan is. The Hebrew means accuser.

You’re right. This is a difficult question. I often wonder how succesful Christianity would have been if it wasn’t spread with the sword just like Islam. The Europeans came with the sword but also the Bible. a blessing and a curse. Strange how it works. Thank you for at least attempting to answer this.
It has never been easy for me to believe that God would totally mislead (through Satan, of course!) so many people. Just doesn’t seem fair. I believe Satan’s greatest lies will be more…(can’t find the right word)…international? I believe one of the main aspects of his lies will be materialism, consumerism, love for THIS world and all you can get from it. I believe this is backed up by the passages about Babylon in Revelation. Satan also tempts Jesus by offering him the whole world. Islam is all about God. The reason they don’t think He was a man is because they hold Him in such high esteem. And Islam is much more clear than Christianity about not loving the things of THIS world. These seem like odd lies for Satan to spread.

You seem to know the answer so please, do tell.
I honestly don’t know. I know the hebew meaning of the word. I don’t know how moslems understand it. Or is it a veild insult suggesting that not being muslim that I am in league with the devil? In fact I really don’t know much about Islam apart from what I read in the Koran. I have lived in a predominantly moslem country however. And like most faiths there are those who incorporate their own takes on the faith. I know there are many different factions each with their own understanding and apart from the Koran or Hajj I don’t know what they all believe to be incommon with each other
