Muslim apologist would say that the slaying of those Jews were also justified since they betrayed and made allegiance with the enemy of Muh from behind.
Not at all, the tribe had previously been banished from Medina.

Returning from war, Mohammed apparently had a vision where he was asked by Allah, why are you laying down your swords when the angels are still fighting, so he went to war against this tribe that he had already banished and were ZERO threat to him.

:eek:.would muslim posters here say otherwise in defend of Muh?

Seems that Muhammad couldn’t stand the refusal of him being a prophet by the people of the Book who happened to know the real scripture. A real threaten for him…!

You hope not to feel hatred and you know that we are not taught that so you can slither away from the teachings of Muhammad that do indeed teach hatred.
i believe that mohammed (pbuh) always teach love
but in the same time he teach us to hate the sin , tyranny and injustic 🙂
It reminds me of people repeating the same stuff and hoping it becomes a fact. Well the reverse is true too. Denying what is there doesn’t make it disappear. It is a fact that Muhammad taught whatever it takes to win for Islam is halal. The whole premise of Islam is immoral because it forces people to deceive others about its true intentions, Jihad, to kill or subjugate us if we don’t answer the call to Islam.
“Allah:”
“I will cast terror into the hearts of those who
disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads
and strike off every fingertip of them.”
(Qur’an 8:12)
Muhammad:
“Fight everyone in the way of Allah and
kill those who disbelieve in Allah.”
(Ibn Ishaq 992)
do you think that God should to be in your side while you fighting terrorists for example?

I certainly do not feel hatred toward you.🙂
i like to hear that from you
the kindness words have great influences upon those who differ with you in openion , keep that in your mind
if you have the truth and you wanna to guide me to it then you need my trust in you , bashing the relegion isn’t a good way for that 🙂

Islam states that ethics are subjective, therefore the slaying of 600 jewish POWs was justified and in the defence of God.
Let me ask you this, were those jews polytheists? what was the justification for their slaughter?
During the life of Prophet Muhammad, there was a Jewish synagogue in Madinah and an educational institute known as Bait Al-Midras. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) preserved and protected both of them.

After the Battle of Badr (2nd year after hijrah) when the Muslims triumphed over the Makkan polytheists, the Jews of Banu Qaynuqa began to display open hostility with the Muslims. When Muhammad pbuh went to them an requested them to honor their pact they replied by saying, “Those people with whom you fought were inexperienced and ignorant of the ways of warfare, which allowed you to score an easy victory. If you fight us we would teach you a lesson.” They then fortified themselves in their quarters and the Muslims surrounded them and laid siege. None of the other Jewish tribes assisted the tribe of Qaynuqa because they recognized the clear violation of the treaty on the part of the latter. The Qaynuqa tribes realized they couldn’t hold up and they surrendered. Instead of taking prisoners and slaves as other contemporary leaders would have done to their vanquished enemies, the Prophet Muhammad pbuh allowed them to take their belongings and leave Madinah.
After the Battle of Uhud (3rd year after hijrah), when the Muslims had a less favorable outcome in their battle with the Makkans, the Jews of Banu Nadeer attempted to take advantage of the Muslim’s weakness and assasinate the Prophet Muhammad pbuh when he visited them. The Prophet pbuh escaped and issued a 10-day ultimatum for the tribe of Banu Nadeer to leave Madinah. However, Muhammad pbuh even allowed them to retain all their property and appoint agents to look after their farms. The Banu Nadeer however consulted with Abdullah Ibn Ubayy , the leader of the hypocrites in Madinah. The latter told them that he had 2000 fighters who would assist them against Prophet Muhammad and he also assured them the Ghatafan would come to their aid. The tribe of Banu Nadeer, feeling confident that they could destroy the Muslims, rejected the Prophet’s ultimatum and prepared for war. The Muslims laid siege to their quarters during which time they recieved none of the promised support from Abdullah Ibn Ubayy or his allies. After 26 days they surrendered and asked to leave under the original conditions. This was no longer reasonable since they themselves had rejected the Propet’s offer. Thus they were to leave with whatever belonging they could take with them, and their land was turned over to the Muslims. And yet, the Prophet still did not enslave them, take them prisoner or spill any blood in this conflict. He was always keen to find a peaceful situation.

In the 5th year after hijrah, an alliance was made between the arab tribes of Ghatafan, the Quraysh of Makkah, the Jews of Khaybar (which included the exiled tribe of Banu Nadeer), the arabs of Sulaym, Asad, Ashja’ and Fazarah. Together, this coalition raised a massive army of 10 000 soldiers to march against and annihilate the Muslims once and for all. The Muslims could not face such an immense force and consequently they dug a trenche around the northern part of the city to defend themselves. The coalition forces laid siege to the Muslims in the battle named Al-Khandaq. Muslims had only protected the norther part of the city as their allies, the last Jewish tribe called Banu Qurayzah, lay to their south beyond the orchards. However, the coalition forces were able to persuade the Banu Qurayzah to break their treaty with the Muslims and attack them from behind. The Banu Qurayzah had the ability to attack the undefended Muslim city - occupied now only by women and children

When rumours spread that Banu Qurayzah had broken their peace treaty with the Prophet Muhamamd pbuh and had joined the coalition of forces surrounding the Muslim city of Madinah, the Prophet pbuh was distressed and sent to them four of his companions as a delegation to request them to honor their treaty. Sa’d ibn Mu’âdh [chief of the 'Aws tribe], Sa’d ibn 'Ubâdah [chief of the khazraj tribe], Abdullah ibn Rawâhah and Khawât ibn Jubayr were the four members of the delegation.

The Banu Qurayzah treated the delegation rudely, disavowed all past treaties with the Prophet, and began to exchange insults with Sa’d ibn 'Ubâdah. Sa’d ibn Mu’âdh interrupted saying that the matter was far too serious than to enter into a petty exchange of insults. He pleaded with Banu Qurayzah but to no avail; they began to abuse him using the most vulgar and obscene language. Sa’d ibn Mu’âdh said, “You would have been well advised to use better language.” With that, they left and conveyed their sad report secretly to the Prophet pbuh to avoid causing more fear to spread in amongst the Muslims who already had an army of 10 000 camped on their doorstep and were now open to attack from Banu Qurayzah behind them.

Banu Qurayzah sent some of their fighters in to the undefended city to attack the Muslims. A Muslim woman, Safiyyah bint Abdul-Muttalib, saw one of the Qurayzah warriors creeing about the quarters of the Muslim women. She managed to kill him and the others fled thinking that the Muslims had left men to guard the rear as well.

After the coalition forces had disbanded, given up the siege and left, the Muslims surrounded the quarters of the Banu Qurayzah and laid siege to them. Those amongst the Banu Qurayzah who had opposed their tribe’s violation of the treaty were allowed to leave freely but the remaining warriors were killed. The Muslims had seen how leniency failed with the previous tribes who had gathered up their forces to launch another attack on the Muslims. The Banu Qurayzah had also witnessed this and despite all that they still chose to violate their treaty with Muslims.

Well, i supposed the muslim claim that the Jew have made Ezra as the Son of God, thus performing shirk (associating partner with Allah)…!

Muslim apologist would say that the slaying of those Jews were also justified since they betrayed and made allegiance with the enemy of Muh from behind.
and what do you think ? is that acceptable justification

Hi,
I’m a newbie around here, came across this thread and thought I would make a few comments.

First I want to give credit where it is due. Props to ALL believers who are willing to stand up for what they believe in. I feel regardless your faith, it says a lot about you as a person when you are willing to do that and I respect and applaud you :clapping: Many are not courageous enough to stand up for their beliefs.

That being said, IF we all are claiming our own religious beliefs to be true then we need first and foremost to know why we believe what we believe. I am a cradle Catholic, and have been fortunate having the opportunity to come in contact with believers of different faiths including Islam. I was born in Metro Detroit, for those of you who are not familiar with the area, the largest concentrated group of Arabs in the U.S. reside here, many of whom are practicing Muslims.

This being said, I have spent a great deal of time with Muslims in general from an early age. At 17 I began waitressing in a Lebanese restaurant, where I also met my husband, a Lebanese Muslim. My current job is also in a Muslim environment where I am the minority and often find myself defending my faith and trying to be the best witness I can to my coworkers and friends. I understand the need for people to justify their beliefs, but the way in which we try to, is not always correct. I myself, am also guilty of this, for I don’t always know how or what to say. It’s difficult to deal with the fact that not everyone believes as you do. So let’s take look at the Muslims posting here and say first of all that they have a lot of courage to do so, one because they are in a predominantly Christian forum, and secondly they probably know that they are going to be attacked by other posters for preaching what they believe to be true. I think that is a very brave thing, I know this because I am often intimidated and find great difficulty standing up for what I believe.

I have had many conversations with Muslims, not so much trying to evangelize but more or less to point them in the direction where they can discover the truth on their own. I have come to realize the saddest thing about many Muslims is the blind faith they have for believing what they do. It is very difficult in most cases, for a Muslim to try and learn about other faiths, especially if they come from predominantly Muslim areas of the world. This happens to be true in my case where most muslims I’m in contact with are from places like this.

Islam does not give the option to consider other beliefs. In many instances persecution and even death can be the result of something as simple as investigating the truth for your own sake. Among other things such as being shunned from family, friends, etc. I am probably preaching to the choir, as many of you know very much about this topic already, but I feel I need to stress the issue here because many of us are so passionate about this.

As someone who was born Catholic, grew up in a Catholic home, fallen away from the faith (several times) studied numerous other beliefs (over a long period of time) and come back to the only Truth I can find. I am so grateful to have been able to do this because in studying other religions and faiths I have come to find my faith is the only one I can rationalize believing in. Many people do not have the opportunity to do as I, and study other beliefs. As a history major with a minor in religious studies I find it so important to not only rely on the faith part of beliefs but the historical context that surrounds the religious ideals.

Let’s try to point non-believers in the direction of truth we have found. Let’s not judge one another, or make claims that ‘what I believe is inferior to what you believe or vice versa’ let’s instead pray for each other! I mean that in the truest sense that God, whoever He may be to you, will take our prayers to heart and correct what is wrong. This my friends and fellow posters will be the only way the Truth will come.

In a recent debate with one Muslim co-workers I shared this very idea, that we as believers of different faiths we should pray for each other. His response was “I will never pray for you, because you don’t believe the truth.” How heartbreaking! I’d be lying if I told you it wasn’t difficult to hold my composure. I was a blink away from tears, but that very moment I knew I had to pray even more for this person. My prayers may in fact be the only ones that are actually being said for him! So all the more I should pray for him and others with similar beliefs.

We cannot be the ones to evangelize; the Holy Spirit alone can be the one working though us. We need to live our lives by the beliefs we claim. Let God work through us in the way that is correct and justified. When the Lord died on the cross for us, he asked the Father to “forgive them, they know not what they do” How much more simply could it be stated? Sometimes people have never been pointed in the direction that they need to be, and you could be the only one someone has to do such a thing. Pray! Pray for these people and pray God has mercy on those who are not spoken to of the Truth. Pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to their hearts, minds and open their eyes. Give them a way to come to know and understand the Lords message, by seeing it! This is the ONLY way that we can really help each other, and this is true for ALL of God’s people.

Let’s be friends, let’s be willing to sacrifice to help each other, and let’s not debate in ways that tear us further apart…we need to come together. For all mankind is God’s kind and all are worthy of His love and forgiveness, we just have to be willing to ask. Let’s ask God for unity, for peace, for the ability to love as He has loved us, and be willing to stand up for what we believe in the best possible ways we can.

May God Bless you all and keep you in the palm of His hand. :hug1:

Exceptions do not prove the rule and the majority of Christians have no qualms at all about consuming pork and blood.

Am I right… or… am I right?
You are right…, but in your original post you should have said “the majority of Christians” instead of “Christians”.

Welcome to CAF. 🙂

I have said this before but I think it needs to be pointed out again i.e. the greatest problem I face when discussing about religion with Christians and Jews is not that they do not believe in what is written in the Qur’an… but rather, the greatest obstacle that I face when talking to Christians and Jews is to make them believe in what is written in their very own scriptures.

Again, let us examine the Book of Deuteronomy 7:1-5 and in particular the parts which I will highlight:

When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations – the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you – and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you. This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire.

OK then, is it plausible at all that a Deity who seemingly does not care much about whether or not other tribes and nation worship other gods or idols than Him alone, should then command Prophet Moses (pbuh) to attack and show no mercy to those who would “turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods” and to “break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire”?

To me, it is just so very, very, very, VERY plain and obvious that the One who would issue such a command to Moses (pbuh) does indeed care an enormous deal whether or not His creations worship other gods than Him alone.

But Jesus is God’s Word, so theoretically they are “One”, and Christians are worshipping “One God” who has Word and Spirit.

Were the Jews involved in the start of the Battle of the Trench? The Islamic sources say that they stirred up the Meccans against the Muslims.

Early biographer Ibn Ishaq says:

A number of Jews who had formed a party against the apostle, among whom were Sallam b. Abu’l-Huqayq al-Nadir [he had been assassinated so the chronology or his placement here is off], and Huyayy b. Aktab al-Nadri, and Kinana b. Abu’l-Huaqayq al-Nadri, and Hauda b. Qays al-Wa’ili, and Abu Ammar al-Wa’ili with a number of B. [Bani or tribe or clan] Nadir and B. Wa’il, went to the Quraysh at Mecca and invited them to join them in an attack on the apostle so that they might get rid of him altogether. (p. 450).

How much did the Jews instigate the battle, and how much were the Meccans fed up with Muslim harassment on their own without Jewish provocation? This is unclear. But let us assume only for the sake of argument that the Islamic sources are right. These specific Jews were the principal instigators. In the end, this does not matter, for the following reason.
**
It is important to cite these (complex) names, above, because today’s Muslim polemicists who defend Muhammad’s extermination and enslavement of the Qurayza Jews overlook the fact that early Islam knew specifically who the enemy Jewish leaders were—by name. So did all the men and adolescent boys have to be executed and all the women and children enslaved? Could only the leaders not have been executed?**

But Jesus is God’s Word, so theoretically they are “One”, and Christians are worshipping “One God” who has Word and Spirit.
Actually, my comments were specifically in response to statements made like the following:
… the Bible does not support war with people based on their acceptance or rejection of YHWH.
The reason for this is plain, the Torah is silent on the gods of other peoples…
The Torah is most definitely NOT silent on the gods of other peoples as can be so very clearly seen in the passage from the Book of Deuteronomy which I have quoted.

Hamba, you are not reading clearly, or you are intentionally lying.

As I stated the concern is for jews who turn away from YHWH, not what the hittites and phoenicians and other nations are doing.

YHWH only says that we, jews are not to worship their gods.

If in fact their gods did not exist, YHWH would have said somewhere in the Torah, as Allah says in the Quran.

There is no god other than me.

YHWH does not explicitly state this.

Allah does and goes on to say that those who do not worship Allah are transgressors.

This automatically creates the House of war for muslims, the single most destructive idea of islam.

I reality there will never be peace between muslims and non-muslims - only truces.

In the end one side must annihilate the other.
To me, it is just so very, very, very, VERY plain and obvious that the One who would issue such a command to Moses (pbuh) does indeed care an enormous deal whether or not His creations worship other gods than Him alone.
Not at all, Moses was not even asked to preach about YHWH to these people, as I stated, it was a land grab plain and simple.

It had absolutely nothing to do with what the nations in those lands were doing.

You are making things up.

i really don’t know what to say
firstly , we talking here about treason of a tribe not treason of persons ,
secondly , It was the warriors who were to be executed and not the women and children

thirdly and most important , the Jews were being judged according to their own law!

Deuteronomy 20:10-12

10 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11 If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12 If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13 When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the LORD your God gives you from your enemies

This is what happened. The Muslims offered a treaty with the Bani Quraydah. The Bani Quraydah broke it. They refused to surrender even after they broke the treaty and fought to protect the criminals. Therefore, they were judged with their own law and ironically even the leader who caused all this problem even admits that he deserved such a punishment and that it was the order of God…

Huyayy was brought to face his end, and Huyayy looked at the Prophet (PBUH) and said: “By God, I do not blame my self for my hostility towards you. Nevertheless, whoever deserts God deserts him. Then he turned to the people and said: “O people, I have nothing against the order of God. He has decreed slaughter for the Children of Israel!” Then he sat down and was beheaded.

i have to confess that allah dosn’t love those who denying him and disbeliev in him

#1. Thanks for admitting to everyone that even you know that YHWH and Allah are not the same.

#2. Yes. Until the last just ask for His forgiveness and He will give it to you. He practiced the ultimate forgiveness when He gave His life and on the cross He forgave those who did that to Him. Other than that only God can judge you, we cannot. God did not create you to watch you roast in hell like Allah did.

let me add
disbeliever is someone will not ask the forgivness in the first place , because asking the forgiveness made him believer allready 🙂
