arandur: I know what you meant when you made the offer to join the catholic church

I used the term “cafeteria catholic”, because I to this day, cannot embrace and accept many of the traditions, and doctrines which the church claims to be God ordained or directed

I still believe that what 1John 1:9 says, applies to us as Christians, and even nonbelievers, that “if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us of all righteousness.” Thus, you eliminate the need to visit a priest on a weekly basis

Next; there is only ONE Holy Father, and His Name is God, the Almighty, Yahweh, Elohim! Mary was a very, very important part of the salvation plan, although, exalting her, or believing in her, asking her to intercede for you, saying “hail Marys”, or reciting the rosary will not get you the security of eternal life. But I do understand the catholic love for Mary, and the need/desire to lift her up to a position of near royalty. And I really enjoy contemporary Christian music, along with the old, traditional hymns and other worship music. I enjoy the freedom of wearing shorts, Levi’s or Dockers to church, as it is not the outside which is important, but the inside. Does the catholic church offer street ministry programs, and hospital/nursing home programs where you go and sing with them, love on them and share God’s message of hope? So, you see, arandur; even if I believed everything that the apostles supposedly passed down, I would still be at odds with the church on other issues, hence the “cafeteria catholic” handle:thumbsup: I really hope that it is not true, that people in the cc have told tweetymom that she will go to Hell for whatever reason

That would be tantamount to playing God!
